Whale's Tale Fish House

These folks have authentic New England style seafood, always fresh and tasty. Our only quibble is that the side dishes are teeny tiny. They are served in little cups that seem more like condiment cups.
My husband really enjoyed the fried clams, one of his favorites.

We have gone to this restaurant several times. We enjoy the fried haddock and any side of your choosing. We have not had a bad meal here. If you live in the area and haven't tried eating here you owe it to yourself to try this restaurant out.

Fish is great, so are the onion rings, I had the early bird shrimp, fries and cole slaw with a fresh brewed unsweet ice tea... SO GOOD ! For the food adventure try the boiled soft shell blue crab sandwich, so soft you eat it shell and all ! For a big meal or just a snack the fish is waiting for you !

Maryland Friends! Best Maryland Crab cakes in Central FL! They used to have a kick which was a lil too much, now perfect. Yummy broiled & fried fish fry and haddock too. Lately the hush puppies, & potato’s are on point.

Best seafood in Lake County. The fried or broiled shrimp are always fantastic and the lump crab cakes are amazing.

Trout was so delicious in the fish basket my husband ate every last bite of his cat fish meal , delicious hush puppies , nice atmosphere, fast delivery of food , super waitress, large selection of seafood ,we will be eating here again

Ordered catfish and sides take out for lunch. Food were ready upon pickup (less than 10 min). Quick and easy exchange. Will return again!

Oh wow! This little place in a strip mall doesn't look like much from the outside but the food we had was absolutely delicious! We had the belly clams which were fresh and yummy. And probably the best onion rings I've ever eaten. Sliced fresh and lightly breaded. Server was pleasant and attentive. Chef even came out to check on our lunch. Highly reccomend this little spot if you like belly clams. And those onion rings are a winner!

Locally owned and operated. I ordered the blackened fish and asked for double seasoning. Red potatoes was my side. The fish was perfectly cooked. Nice and firm with the correct amount of seasoning. Smelled and tasted wonderful. My had a shrimp sandwich and while it was tasty, it could been better on a larger roll. The roll was a but too small and didn't hold all the shrimp. Drinks were fine. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. Enjoy.

The batter on the shrimp and the onion rings is light. The meal was reasonably priced. I really like this place. I took some friends there and they were very pleased.

This little place has the best fish I have eaten in a long time. It was not greasy and was made fresh. The hush puppies were phenomenal. I also had the onion rings and just remembering them my mouth is watering. Service was awesome and prices are great. I am allergic to shell fish and had no problems eating here. It might not look like much from the out side; but if you passed it up on looks, shame on you.

The reviews are on point! Freshest seafood I have had in years, you would think they caught the fish out back. Service is very timely and friendly, portions are generous except for the sides. The sides are on the small side but you are able to add extra sides to your meal for a small price. The onion rings didnt have any seasoning or flavor but the grits and hushpuppies were great. We'll definitely be back, can't beat the price.

Update: Oct 2019. portion sizes are small and food could use some seasoning salt. Customer service not as great as before but food comes out fast.

Special trip to this restaurant to see if the crab cakes were as good as advertised. We were not disappointed. Nicely presented and had the right amount of spice. I was surprised at the small side of cheese grits, but they were excellent and I really didn't need anymore. Friendly service and a place that we will return to for crab cakes and more menu items.

OMG!! This place is awesome. Love their oysters shrimp, hush puppies, onion rings, actually everything on the menu is great. Service is fast & friendly. Food is served promptly. The parking is easy, no scrounging for a space. Will definitely go back.

This place is a Gem. Wonder where the locals go for great seafood at reasonable prices? it is here. Melt in your mouth delicately cooked Shrimp, Clams and best of all the Fried oysters! Attentive Friendly staff with perfect service, this place is our new favorite. Can not wait to try all the selections they offer up! Locals favorite for 10 years they must be doing something right!

We both had the duo, with fried oysters & clams. Both of us agreed the fried oysters were ok. "Prefer them raw on 1/2 shell" but the clams were great! And the hush puppies were fantastic. [And I normally HATE hush puppies]
Everything was lightly battered, hot & fresh. I couldn't ask for better customer service. And the decor was very much in the water way clean & very homey. Will DEFINITELY go back!
