Sun Lakes State Park Campground

Earlier this year I was scouting out a place for my family to go camping. I found Sun Lakes. I got my family together on the Idea to book for the 4th of July! We snagged up some excellent full hookup spots with plenty of space, lots of shade. Close proximity to restrooms if for some reason our rv restroom was occupied, close to walking trails a short walk or drive down to the lake for those with a disability that cant walk. The beach had plenty picnic tables and places around to pop a squat, the swimming area was roped off so that was nice, you even have access to some of the fancy amenities over at the resort about a half mile up the lake. During our stay there was a brief power outage ( something i found out that happens from time to time) luckily you got the lake to cool you down and plenty of trees so provide shade, there is also lots of grassy areas, i only found one dog poop bag station but that’s ok because good dog owners always have plenty on hand. Saw some wild life, and we are already discussing our plans to return again and again! Oh did i forget to mention i have camped for almost 38 yrs and this was one of the cleanest and quietest camp grounds. Everyone was friendly and enjoying themselves. Super relaxing.

Great place to camp of even spend a day picnicking, especially if you have children. Very impressed with this state park and how much the employees do to keep the place clean, we'll maintained and safe. Big thumbs up to the park rangers here they are on top of things yet are friendly and courteous.

Great campground! Off the road enough to give some privacy, but the little convenience store area is so nice to have. Some spots are shaded more than others, but having water access nearby is amazing in the hot summer days. This is my favorite campground and the family loves to come here! At night the winds can pick up, so I highly recommend packing away anything that could blow away before nightfall

This park has some great extra amenities that make the stay extra special including a grocery store, golf course, snack shop, and boat rentals. There are several beaches with swim areas that range from toddler safe to dock jumping. The restrooms are well maintained and quick to get to no matter where you are in the park. There is so much wildlife! That said, sites 111-115 have a lot of misquotes. There is hiking available, but there is no need to hike to experience a great view! 45 minutes from Grand Coulee dam and several other natural attractions. Definitely worth a several night stay.

This place is beautiful. The kids were able to be as free as they desire. The swimming was incredible. And the scenery... what a place to drink a beer. Plenty of privacy. I mean this photo looks fake, but I assure you it's not.

It was so amazing! It was clean, beautiful view, it was probably the best summer camping trip that we've ever had!!

Really fun and cost effective for what you get, bathrooms everywhere so you're not struggling to find one. They sell masks for 50c which is dope. All there employees where masks. And you need a mask on too order from the diner. Massive state park with everything for everyone boat launch if you want water and tons of trails that you can find all over the place. Had a blast

Went here as a kid, always fun. Went last August, beautiful drive out, beautiful scenery. It was packed, but everybody was respectful of their neighbors. Lake was perfect, nice breeze, in the 80's. Had a great time. Thank you Sun Lakes! Also went up to Grand Coulee dam 👍

Awesome place to camp. Clean bathrooms and nice shaded camping areas. Easy access to great hikes around Dry Falls, and the resort nearby has firewood, ice, and camp provisions. The wind is nuts here so bring earplugs if you are in a tent.

When your out on your road trip every once in awhile you cross the path of a fabulous campground. Sun Lakes State Parks is that spot. I am a wildlife photographer. I found that the birds are abundant in the area and I was here in the of season for birding. Lots of deer ,wild turkeys running about and a bonus unbelievable landscape opportunities. You are able to explore the areas many lakes by car or bike all very safe. You can stay here for a week and not see all the beautiful spot the area has to offer. If your a birder this is a most place to come and stay or if you love the outdoors and hiking come and stay you will not want to leave.

Have not been here camping for 40 years! Had a great visit over the 4th. I camped in the first loop. Campsites are a bit more private, with nothing behind them. Park was packed with lots of happy kids. Swimming just across the road. Restrooms very clean. Love this place.

It was busy but the lake was not. Campsites are average at best but they did the job. Lots of History, lots of things to do. We loved it

This place is spectacular! Beautiful vista's in every direction. Wonderful campsites for RVs. The 9 hole golf course is a gem. We'll be back.

Had a Great time met some new people from all over Washington large areas for tents however not on the grass ☹

Loved this place. Probably the loudest most abundant morning birds in the country, but I guess that's not the park's fault

There is a vey popular campground with a nice swimming area.

Great campground with easy access to the surrounding trail system of Dry Falls State Park. Clean campsites and bathrooms.

Rented paddle boards and had a great time at a family reunion a must for water lovers BOO-YAH!!!
