Canyon Tavern

New owners and managers have really got something special. Facility is upgraded, charming, and busy with happy patrons.
All ages crowd of mostly locals.
Menu is all American plus a few nice surprises. I had the chicken sandwich and green chili and it was really satisfying.
Parking can be tight when it's peak hours.
Wondervue Cafe is same owner and about 5 minutes West on highway 72.

Our server Johanna made sure that everyone was taking care of fast but also welcoming! The fact that she was the only server because the other server had just quit, she didn't let it affect her attitude. Johanna made our first time there enjoyable 😉

I stopped by to grab some food and was pleasantly surprised to find veggie burger on their menu. It was great, and they have a super tasty ginger beer to go with it.
I appreciated the attentive service a lot, as well as the nice view.

Food was delicious including the gluten free chicken tenders. The dog loved hanging out on the deck where the staff brought him a water bowl. Amazing view and reasonably priced food made for a great experience. We will be back.

Fantastic patio. Chill vibe. Shuffleboard! Super friendly staff and a pretty darn good burger. The beers are very fairly priced too.

Reuben sandwich was great and the tater tots were too. Lots of good stuff on the menu. Fresh and hot right off the cooker. Beer is cold cold too. Full bar is pretty stocked. Lots of TVs on both sides of the roomy bar. They have a screened in porch overlooking the trees and drop off and often have a live band. Lots of parking just off 72 and not far from Arvada.

A quintessential Colorado experience! The staff is always friendly and the food has improved since it's been under new ownership. You're in the mountains, so remember this isn't a fastfood joint. It's real food, made in real time. Live music, sports, and mountain views add to the awesome ambiance.

This place was amazing. Cool roadside spot with amazing views. All of the food we tried was great. Might be the best wings in Denver area and top flight burger as well. Staff and customers were all super friendly and helpful.

Had the Ruben sandwich with tater tots on the deck. Really good. Sandwich and tots were the best I’ve had in a long time. Service was very good although a little slow. I’m sure do to being a little understaffed. Just more time to enjoy the sun and the view. Very nice staff and very nice view. Will surely be coming back.

This is a 2 year update after new owners took over. Had the Ruben sandwich with tater tots again. A little smaller than before. Just as good however. Their water still tastes funky. All the water at the top of the canyon seems to have that taste. They really should sell bottled water. Sadly they don’t. Still a good place to eat and will surely return.

We had the wings and the Po Boy and both were excellent. Our server was prompt and courteous. We will be stopping back.

Service, food, view, - this spot is amazing!!! I took my mom last night because she wanted to find a spot to sit outdoors and eat. We got a burger, the cheese curds, and a salad.

The burger was sooo tasty! Everything was, but that burger was next level.

We had a younger guy as our server and he was very sweet and attentive. The other server with long blonde hair was also super sweet and returned my mom’s wallet to her when she accidentally left it behind. So glad she caught us before we drove off!

Highly recommend this spot and looking forward to coming back!

First thing is service was exceptional and the view is fantastic! My food was delicious and the wait short. I'll be back for sure.

Wonderful service the staff really work to make you feel welcome. The food is great bar food . We lived in Pittsburgh for a few and were reminded about all the awesome meals there. The view, oh my just perfect view of the Canyon!! Stop in grab a bite and get treated!!

Canyon Tavern is the perfect place to go if: you want to instantly feel like part of a close-knit, yet welcoming, community; you want to experience excellent service from fun and genuine staff; you want to nibble on craveworthy appetizers and deliciously satisfying entrées; you want to watch all the big games on their multiple screens or take in the stunning panoramic views from the patio or the wall of windows. It's truly a charming gem and we are looking forward to becoming regulars!

This place is so awesome. They have a great patio and amazing/unique (in a good way) drinks. Highly recommended! Also Sheena was amazing! If you are lucky enough to get her as a server consider buying a lotto ticket. :)

The owners Annette and Tom Lambeth are doing a fabulous job of remodeling the interior and exterior of this neighborhood landmark, only more favorable and inviting to the neighbors. They really want to be the local hot spot for food and drink! They have an excellent kitchen and bar staff!! Ready to open soon! Days away and they will be ready for all y'all! Eat drink and be merry! I'll see you there!!!

Such a great pub in the mountain! Can you believe to have dozen of draft beers available at almost 2500m (8000 feet).
Enjoy some hike or even some cold swim in some canyon before stopping at the Last Stand Tavern.
