Ugly Biscuits is such a great place to stay! The location is unbeatable - private, off the beaten path, yet close to all the main attractions of Baraboo! There are mowed trails around the beautiful property that the owners graciously allow the guests to utilize. The breakfasts are fresh, healthy, homemade, and very considerate of food allergies/preferences. Everything was in great condition, clean, updated, and inviting. It just felt like home!
I will say, the walls are not the most sound proof, but the owners do provide noise machines and have posted quiet times which really helps. The owners also have a couple dogs but they keep them leashed and in their private quarters.
The owners are so incredibly sweet and friendly. They had great recommendations for places to visit. We completely recommend!

Ugly Biscuits is my favorite BnB I have ever visited! The hosts are super friendly and accommodating. They NAILED the delicious breakfast while meeting my ludicrously long list of dietary restrictions. The rooms and common area are comfortable, clean, cozy, and quiet. The grounds are beautiful with excellent birding. The location is wonderful with several beautiful parks and hiking trails nearby. And did I mention a fantastic value?!!! We can't wait to come back!

Ugly Biscuits Bed & Breakfast is the best place we have ever stayed. It is nestled into a beautiful and peaceful property with trails and amazing bird watching. As soon as we arrived, we knew we found a gem! The rooms are immaculately clean and very comfortable. The food is out of this world delicious!!!! I loved that we found a vegetarian bed and breakfast, and they went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The ugly biscuits and lentil gravy was so good it was practically life changing (I usually do not like biscuits and gravy). The staff are the best part of all - so kind, welcoming, and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough! We are already planning our next stay.

My stay at the Ugly Biscuits this past weekend with two friends was perfect. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in (I tried to look at the tag but there were several covers on them keeping them very clean!), the food was amazing (vegan and I'm a meat-eater); and the staff are lovely. It was very relaxing with trails to hike and hammocks in the woods where you could lay for a while and listen to the birds. It's also very bird-friendly - they provide binos for guests and have a wonderful set of bird feeders out front teeming with different species during the spring migration. This is the most highly-recommended B&B I have ever stayed in.

The best place to stay while visiting Baraboo! The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even offered to help carry our luggage in! Our room was nicely decorated and cleaner than an operating room! The food was home-cooked, healthy, and far better than anything you would get at a standard hotel. Overall, it was such a comfortable place to stay that it felt like coming home for the weekend. Thank you to Ugly Buscuits for making our anniversary trip even more special!

I loved everything about my stay here: the clean, spacious room; the books; the plants; the tranquility; the view; the common area; the proximity to lots of fun destinations; the staff; and last but not least, the food. I highly recommend Ugly Biscuits to anyone who wants to feel like they're staying at the home of a good friend rather than at a hotel.

Our stay at Ugly Biscuits Bed and Breakfast was absolutely incredible! It's truly among the finest B&Bs I've experienced, with wonderful and welcoming hosts. Every detail was perfect, from the delicious breakfast to the serene and breathtaking location. It's a place we'll definitely return to!

It was a wonderful getaway from stress. Connie, Katy, and Rodney were wonderful hosts from providing spotless and comfortable accommodations, a delicious homemade breakfast ( fresh baked scones from scratch, quiche, fresh fruit...) and dry kindling for our nightly bon fire. Couldn't be more perfect. Booking a second time for the fall.

I cannot rave about Ugly Biscuits enough!! From the scenic view from our rooms, to the amazing shower to the wonderful breakfast we had the best time for my boyfriend’s birthday. They even allowed early check in and surprised him with a special pillow on his bed. They go above and beyond. It felt more like visiting family. I’ve already told all my friends and family they need to check it out!! We will be back!

We loved our stay at Ugly Biscuits B&B! Clean, cozy rooms in a beautiful part of Wisconsin. The hosts were very welcoming, and the vegan breakfast (quiche, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, coffee) was amazing. The hosts had great recommendations for food and acitvities around the area and even cleaned the snow off our car in the morning. Will definitely be coming back!

We stayed here over the past Memorial Day weekend on our trip to Devil’s Lake State Park from Chicago. The bottom line is that Ugly Biscuits Bed and Breakfast is such a wonderful place where you can find peace, relax and rest after a long drive/hike, meet good people, and eat delicious! breakfast.

Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately by one of the owners (some of the nicest people that we’ve met) Connie and were introduced to the property which is in the middle of Wisconsin farmland. The property area is huge with a cute but decently long trail where you can take a fun walk, not to mention two hammocks in the woods which can result in automatic naps :) There is also a fire pit with chairs around for some nightly chats.

The house itself is very pretty with clean and comfortable bedrooms/bathrooms. The common area is full of books and board games so you can pretty much just spend the whole day at the property relaxing. There is also this bird feeding area where small local birds come and hang out, and you can easily spend hours sitting in the porch, watching the little ones.

The breakfast is prepared by chef Katie who is super talented. The food is all vegetarian/vegan and we were amazed at how fantastic the meals were (and we are big meat eaters). I am definitely going to try to get the secret recipe from her for the cookies and biscuits.

Ugly Biscuits is near Devil’s Lake and also Wisconsin Dells. It’s also not too far from Madison. Connie, Rodney and Katie know the area so well and gave us some restaurant and travel tips at Baraboo and Madison.

We had a wonderful time and were so fortunate to meet such fabulous people. We will surely visit again.

Ugly Biscuits is a must-stay for those in the Baraboo/Dells area! The owners were very lovely and welcoming. Great location for visiting nearby attractions (I would recommend the International Crane Foundation, Devils Lake, and House on the Rock to name a few). House is clean and cozy with unique (and vegetarian friendly!) breakfast options each day.

We don't normally do bed and breakfast accommodations, but we gave it a try. The location feels out in the country but is within 15 to 20 minutes of town, Devil's Lake and Wisconsin Dells. It's a pretty easy drive back and forth. Baraboo was more like 10 minutes. It's a nice place to get away when you are done playing. They have done a great job creating an oasis away from it all. So peaceful. Breakfast was good, and I did not miss having meat. You have access to coffee and a microwave for guest use. Many games and books to use for entertainment. Notably, there was not any television. I didn't miss it at all. I saw their dogs once outside. I never even heard then bark once, so they are not a nusiance whatsoever. The hosts were very nice, helpful, and kind but were not intrusive. The home was beautiful and really modern. This is by far the cleanest place I have ever stayed! I clean myself for money, and I have a detailed eye, but my room and bathroom were spotless. The white bedding, spotless! They had a note saying they wash all bedding between every guest. The only negative thing I can say is that the water in the fox room took a long time to heat up for the shower and sink, but it eventually did. Also, being in a B&B, you are really close to those who rent the other rooms. A matter of preference, I suppose. Thanks for a nice getaway...and yes, we did kayak at Devil's Lake the day we left. 🤗

Another five star review! Very clean, beautiful place to stay. And Very quiet, very very quiet. Which was nice to get away from the kids for a night. Close to all the attractions. Hosts were very nice, breakfast was amazing, the best GF breakfast I've had. Look forward to another stay.

One thing I would recommend, is having a TV. After our night out we wanted to watch some football.

Amazing B&B experience! The owners went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and happy with our stay. The rooms were clean and bigger than how they looked in the pictures! The surrounding area and walking trails were beautiful. And I haven’t even mentioned the breakfast… We stayed for two nights and looked forward to breakfast both mornings! It was so good! I would 100% recommend this place to my friends, and my fiancĂ© and I plan to come back again!

My partner and I stayed here after biking from Madison to Baraboo, and could not have been more thrilled with the stay! The location is fantastic-- only a few miles outside of the city of Baraboo so we could grab dinner in town (though there are charcoal grills out back if you brought your own goods to grill) and head over to the BnB. Our hosts were waiting and gracious. The room was clean and comfortable, and the property is a stunning prairie restoration project. Breakfast was certainly the highlight and we had DELICIOUS vegan biscuits (not ugly at all!!!) and egg or tofu scramble options. Left well fueled for another day of biking! Highly recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay in the area.

Such a beautiful spot. The owners were extremely friendly and the breakfast top notch. We had the hedgehog suite which had a huge open air shower with a rain feature. Easy access to the woods behind and super close to great hikes. Best. I’m planning to visit again asap.

We enjoyed staying at Katie's, Connie's, and Rodney's place. The stay was beautiful, pristine, and spotless. The hosts were extremely helpful, accommodating, and responsive. If you are looking for a getaway to a quiet and serene place in the midst of a peaceful nature, I highly recommend staying here!

Where to begin? Katie, Roland and Connie were thoughtful, accommodating, interesting and passionate about their B&B. And it showed in every aspect of our stay. The rooms were immaculate and well appointed. The craftsmanship throughout Ugly Biscuits was exquisite. The setting was amazing. Well kept property with walking trails trough prairie grasses and forest. A beautiful patio with an outdoor fire pit. The bird feeders were a constant source of entertainment. The hosts gladly shared their knowledge, excitement and passion for their flying friends and Baraboo in general. They were a terrific source for things to do (which were unforgettable), cooking tips and places to eat. Which brings me to the breakfasts! Amazing! Delicious! Carefully prepared with local ingredients. And plentiful (we couldn't finish and took our leftovers for lunch)! Nothing but compliments for the chef.Katie is talented and creative chef.Wish we could have stayed longer. It's a long way for us to travel, but it would definitely be worth a return trip

My son and I had the pleasure of occupying the Hedgehog suite for 3 days. What a beautiful place, run by beautiful people! Rodney, Connie and Katie do a great job of making you feel comfortable, without being overbearing. Katie's vegan/vegetarian breakfasts are to die for (and I'm a dedicated carnivore...). The property is full of surprises: a fire pit, trails, gardens, sneezing moose and howling coyote's (far enough away!). For sure we'll return....
