Great local ice cream 🍦 shop for a sweet treat on a summer day! I enjoyed my selection of sea salt caramel. 😋 This appears to be a popular spot! I highly recommend Shains of Maine for all your dessert needs

13 bucks for a delicious lobster roll, fries, and chowder, is epic. Food was yummy. They asked "Mayo or butter on the roll?" And I said "both." Line got long after noon. Would definitely return.

Got the lobster roll which was good and the fish sandwich (on special) which was sad. The ice cream was delicious - they give you very generous portions. There are so many flavors to choose from, it's quite dizzying. This is a very child friendly place. They have seating inside and also out. There is quite a bit of parking

Out of this world lobster rolls for $10!! Can't beat the price! Add chowder or fries for just a little more. They're well known for their home made ice cream too.

Locally recommended and sourced food. The menu is limited but the lobster roll and the ice cream were delightful. The roll had plenty of lobster for the price including some tail and claw. The chicken parmigiana was okay - tasted like it was frozen from a package.

Now the ice cream. This stuff was delicious. Rich and creamy. Generous scoop. One of the best ice creams we have had. It is surprisingly not overly sweet. It balances well in the mouth.

The line moves very quickly! Excellent warm lobster sandwich, great ice cream!!! my only complaint would be the soda options. No Dr. Pepper here but still worth checking out.

Food was awesome, the service was great! The prices are really good as well. The lobster roll was chock full of lobster- nice and fresh and the chowder was excellent too! It’s a fun place to visit! We will be back!

Shain's has the BEST lobster rolls. And their ice cream is also the best. Large portions on the ice cream.

Lobster roll are now $9.99, still the best deal in Maine. We had a lobster roll with chowder, $11.99. Both were excellent. The fries were good. And then there's the ice cream, creamy, rich and delicious.

If you're thinking of eating here do not hesitate. It is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is great.

Has to be your go to place if you live around here. My drive is around 13 miles. It’s worth it I like to take advantage of the shorter lines when I can, before it gets crazy in the summer. Don’t get me wrong. I still go and wait in the lines in the summer you can still get good food at a good price here .Ordered the haddock sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich Wednesday special and don’t forget the lobster rolls are the bomb.

A real Maine experience! Almost a crime not to stop by, if in the area. Great food, awesome ice cream, friendly staff, good prices, nice atmosphere.

Great fried seafood. We both got one of the specials, a haddock dinner , fish sandwich with fries, chowder, and a frappe $26.00 total. Busy place, but everything runs smoothly. We will definitely return.

Clam chowder and the lobster roll was great. The banana split was awesome. Ice cream is made there every day.

Shain's is a well loved establishment-- the lines/crowds vouch for this statement. With that being said, service was fast and everyone was very friendly. Lobster roll was delicious. Ice cream is a must. LOVED LOVED LOVED..

I have been coming here since i was a kid and now my kids love to go here, too. The lobster rolls are wonderful at a remarkable price of $8.99 each. The ice cream is great and so many flavors to pick from.

Rich, flavorful ice cream, the chocolate-based flavors were great. I really like how they sorted their flavors by the base flavor. The lobster roll was also enjoyable, with a nicely toasted roll and quality lobster. Clam chowder was nice and creamy.

We love this place! They have very well portioned lobster rolls in hot dog buns, either hot with butter or cold with mayo, thick clam chowder, and the creamiest ice cream.
