This was the best part of our cruise! The owner and her daughter were so kind and gave us lots of great advice! They even have a tour guide and binoculars they provide for you to use along the south klondike highway. The car was in great shape and very clean! We absolutely loved the drive!

Upon watching numerous videos of Alaska in preparation for our trip, we came across Nicole’s video of driving the mustang to emerald lake. We have an ID4 and the mach-e has always been of interest. Rather than deal with a crowded train or bus, we opted to rent.

We sailed on the Norwegian Encore and rented the Mustang Mach-E from Klondike Electric Cars. The car was beautiful, clean and ready to go! The binder was nice to reference and the binoculars were a bonus for us to both look at the mountains (only took one pair of the ship). Emerald lake was our favorite, but Carcross desert was also pretty cool for being in the mountains.

We would definitely rent a car here again in future visits! Very friendly and they do a walk through of the car. We recommend stopping at Lucy’s bakery next door for some road trip snacks. (Scones and cinnamon roll were excellent)

PS Who wouldn’t enjoy being greeted by a couple of goldens!?

THE best choice we made on our Alaska cruise! I read some iffy reviews on the sardine can train tours and rolled the dice on renting a Mustang MachE EV for the day… WOW, it was AWESOME!

The YouTube video first sold me on the independence and flexibility you get with your own car and then the customer service! This is a local “mom and pop” business and they are extremely helpful and welcoming. From emailing Nicole, the Owner with some goofy tourist questions, to getting a thoughtfully packed lunch and warm welcome from Jessica, we were more than impressed and lucky to go this route for our day in Skagway. The photo opportunities and memories we got would have never been possible on a train with hundreds of strangers.

Pro tip: GO AS EARLY IN THE AM AS POSSIBLE! We got the Mustang at 8am and hit the road towards Emerald Lake. We beat most of the buses and tour groups to the stopping points and we got within 3-5 feet of bears feeding on the side of the road. Mountain Goats also were found along the mountainsides. Something you won’t get on some train car filled with strangers… When we got to Carcross we had all the time we wanted to stroll the town and met nothing but friendly shop owners who were not worn out yet by the nonstop buses and trains for the day.

When we got back to Skagway we met Uncle Mikey when we returned the car. He was super friendly and gave some tips on where to stop on our walk back to the cruise ship. By far the best choice for anyone who is looking for that independence and freedom from the tour groups. We had plenty of time to follow the provided binder of stop by stop self guided tour with a few hours to spare. We also switched drivers on the way back to get a chance to soak in all the amazing scenery, and there were a TON of pull outs and photo stops.

My partner and I rented a vehicle and it exceeded our expectations. We drove an electric mustang that was immaculate. The ride was smooth and quiet but had nothing on the VIEWS! The owner and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable of the area, they have great recommendations. They also provide a pair binoculars, which came in hand! 10/10 recommend to rent a vehicle here and take the drive! Oh and get tickets for the suspension bridge, which she also sells :)

Absolutely pleasant experience with Nicole and her electric car rental service. She was very responsive and easy to communicate with, and the rental process was painless. We were on our way before we knew it! The cars were clean and rhe drive was beautiful. The app featuring some of Nicole's favorite stops was very informative and fun! I would definitely recommend driving up the highway with one of her wonderful cars.

Best money I spent on the cruise. Very good bang for the buck when you have a family compared to paying per person for cruise excursions. We did the WPYR train as well in the AM. I honestly preferred the car. Seamless pick up and drop off. Very informative staff. Very nice car. Great road. Have kids and was great to tour at our own pace. We were there early May and Emerald lake was thawed but others had variable amounts of ice on them.

We arrived in Skagway by cruise ship. It was an easy walk Over to their shop to pick up our electric cars. We were a big group of 14 and we were anxious to escape the crowded cruise ship activities for a while. It was a beautiful drive and we were able to stop wherever we wanted or how often we wanted for pictures and views. The cars were clean and new and very easy to drive. It’s only one road up there and back so no need to worry about getting lost. They put a notebook filled with information about where and when to stop so we could plan our day. We stopped in the only Small town along the way and had lunch and got some of the best donuts we’ve ever had. All in all it was a wonderful day for our family. We loved being on our own for a while. Away from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship. Klondike cars was fantastic to work with. We did book in advance. They were friendly and knowledgeable and so easy.

What an amazing experience. The owner was extremely friendly and informative. The vehicles were clean, charged, and ready to go. Renting a vehicle provided us the flexibility to stop when we wanted and spend time where we wanted. A notebook was provided with recommendations of places to stop, including a dog sledding farm and The Bistro, which had delicious food and local beers. When returning your vehicle make sure to check out the shop with pieces from local artists.

Nicole and George are just incredibly friendly people in general and renting from them was one of the best decisions I made on our first time visiting Alaska. After stumbling upon a Youtube video where some folks rented this car from them I immediately ran over to their website to check and see if it was still available for our upcoming cruise and pounced on the opportunity. The car itself in really fun to drive and since they include plenty of range in the rental it was so nice not having to worry about "filling it up" like a normal rental. The drive up the White Pass Highway into Yukon was gorgeous. For the first 15 minutes or so it was dense fog and we worried we might not see anything all day but as soon as we got up over a ridge it was sunny and clear on the other side. The beauty of renting a car for the day is that you can stop whenever you want and explore at your own pace and while I'm sure the train is incredible, the highway follows it along the way and there really weren't many other vehicles on the road since it's fairly remote. We had coffee in Carcross, met sled dog puppies, and stopped at beautiful turnouts where pictures won't do it justice.

We had the best experience with Klondike electric bikes renting their e-mach mustang. The car was beautiful and the Klondike highway was the best part of our cruise. Nicole and George made everything so easy and they are incredibly nice and helpful. You will not regret renting from them.

Excellent experience renting a car from here. The car was very new and nice! They included a folder with information about the sights along the drive to the Yukon and a pair of binoculars. We loved that you didn’t have to fill it with gas afterwards as well. It was an easy walk from the port and the owners are super friendly! They will drop you off at your ship afterwards, however we decided to walk back.

I rented the Ioniq 5 for a day during an Alaska cruise, the best decision over the whole trip. Five of us experienced the beautiful drive to Canada with many stops along the way, including a lookout over the Yukon river near Whitehorse where my dad proposed to my mom 65 years ago. What a fun trip!

The folks at Klondike Electric Cars were wonderfully friendly, helpful, and very efficient with the check-out process. Returning the care was easy too. The Ioniq 5 performed well and was fun to drive, especially in sport mode. It also fit five adults fairly comfortably with plenty room in the back for day packs and other gear. I charged briefly in Whitehorse (~15 min.), which was free, and arrived back in Skagway with plenty of range to spare. It's so nice to return a car and not worry about any fuel costs. Overall, the experience could not have been better.

While on an Alaskan cruise, we rented an electric mustang and drove to emerald lake. Great experience. They had everything ready, including the navigation and a binder full of travel tips and things to look for during the drive. A relaxing way to visit the area at your own pace.

I had an amazing time getting to drive through the Yukon in this electric car. The process to rent the car was very simple and Nicole and George kept me up to date with any type of changes in town. In person they were both very friendly and gave us excellent tips for the ride. When we finished, George even gave us a ride back to the port to catch our ship. Overall such a great experience and I will definitely be renting the Mach-E anytime I am in Skagway.

We had a pleasant experience with Klondike Electric Cars renting their 2022 electric Mustang. Driving at our own pace to Emerald Lake was so much better than a cramped bus of people. Nicole and George went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. From a notebook of stops along the way to binoculars in the car to use. Highly recommend! We took amazing pics and were able to see a Black bear and Red fox up close.

The whole experience with Klondike Electric Cars was exceptional. After talking to Nicole about going to Emerald Lake, I couldn't wait for our trip. When we got the car, it was ready to go. I especially liked the notebook that they put together that provided a narration of all of the notable sights and the history of the area along with pictures. They were even so thoughtful to include binoculars for us to use if we needed them. I loved getting away from the cruise crowds and being able to go at our pace. Klondike Cars offered the perfect way to see Emerald Lake which was beautiful--but really, the whole drive was spectacular. We kept having to pull off and take pictures as the scenery is stunning. I encourage you to use Klondike Electric Cars as they couldn't have been nicer!

Nicole, the owner, is the best. She is extremely customer service focused and very attentive! She responded immediately to every message I sent her prior to renting her vehicle! When we got there, she took her time to explain everything about the electric vehicle we were going to rent which was especially important since I had never driven an electric vehicle before! Also she answered all of our questions re: where we wanted to go and what we would see and what we should know! In addition,, the car was in very good condition and she had a notebook in the vehicle with all of the tourist details re: the places to stop and take pictures! I would absolutely recommend renting from her!
