I had a great experience at Leonardo's Italian Grill! My flight was delayed at DTW, and I was looking for something better than airport food. After searching on Google Maps, I found this restaurant and decided to give it a try based on the reviews—and they were spot on! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left me more than satisfied.

The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent. Plus, it’s only a five-minute drive from the airport, making it a perfect spot for frequent flyers or anyone passing through the area. Highly recommended!

The value of their foods are outstanding, even if we prefer less salty. Our stomachs and feelings are so much saturated. One point they would be better is to have free Wi-Fi. The area for AT&T is too weak.

So I’ve been to this restaurant for several years, but never did review it and I don’t know why. This is a must restaurant to visit if you’re in the Detroit metro airport vicinity. The staff is great here they have a full bar and also a bar in the restaurant to eat if you’re looking just to come in grab a bite watch some TV or whatever. Their bread and pasta is spectacular, it’s a true Italian restaurant. I’m not gonna list their dishes because it’s an authentic Italian restaurant and you can expect all the popular items. Anyway, long story short I will be back many times and I’ve never had a bad meal. Actually everything has been great.

5/5 My fellow DTW travelers: Go to Leonardo's so you can experience what I've found to be consistently good Italian food. The pasta entrees and salads have been a hit. However, the Trio Formaggio app has been everyone's favorite. Bold take, but I think it's better than most Detroit Style pizzas in the area!

Oh, let me tell you about this Italian feast we had at Leonardo's! Imagine walking into a cozy, candlelit place that whispers, "You're gonna eat well tonight!" That was Leonardo's vibe from the get-go. We kicked things off with the chicken tetrazzini and the carbonara. Oh boy, these dishes were like a hug from an Italian grandma you never knew you had. Rich, creamy, and so decadently delicious, you'd think every bite was dipped in a little piece of heaven.

Now, I'm not one to get all fancy with wine, but we went for a bottle of basic Chardonnay. Basic? More like a stealthy charmer! Nicely chilled, it was the perfect sidekick to our creamy pasta marvels, making every sip feel like a refreshing dive into a crisp, cool pool on a hot summer day.

But wait, there's more! The salads, oh the salads! Fresh as the morning dew, with dressings that screamed "I'm homemade, and I'm proud!" You know, it's that touch of love in the dressing that sets a good salad apart from a great one. And Leonardo's? They're serving great ones, my friend.

So, if you find yourself wandering around, looking for a spot that feels like a warm Italian embrace, waltz into Leonardo's. Trust me, it's not just a meal; it's an experience that'll leave your taste buds dancing the tarantella long after you've left. Buon appetito!

Decided to check this restaurant out today and ordered the Seafood Pizza and Leonardo Special 🍕 along with 2 🥗salad. The food came out fresh and I must say this was one of the best Pizza Pies I have had in a very long time. Service was awesome 👌. If you are ever near the airport and in the romulus area, be sure to try this place out. They also have a full alcohol 🍸 bar and so much more.

Made a reservation has my husband said they are usually very busy and they were when we got there but we got there about 15 minutes early and they got us right in. Food was excellent, we all loved what we each got. Husband got the seafood pizza, daughter got the Leonardo Cobb salad, son got the crusted walleye, and I got the sautéed shrimp with garlic butter and noodles. We also got the bruschetta. Atmosphere was nice, a little loud but not bothersome. I also got their pumpkin cheesecake which was so good and kids got their brownie. Daughter couldn’t eat it all but my som devoured his. 😊

I ordered pickup online. The process was easy and they have a separate carryout entrance. The food was 10/10 as expected from how packed the parking lot was on a Tuesday night. We will definitely be back!

It's a nice local Italian restaurant with a wonderful local atmosphere. The food was amazing and so was our server she was attentive and very sweet. We were kind of a difficult table and she never seemed frustrated or annoyed but always smiling. The bread is amazing all 4 of the dishes my party and I ate were amazing(I tried them all). It's a little pricey but worth it I can't wait to go back.

On a short layover in Detroit, it’s very convenient to the airport. We had a great Italian meal at reasonable price.

I can’t believe this is right beside the airport near all the park and flys - it’s amazing!

Simple and delicious Italian-American food. Nothing fancy but very delicious.

Super chill atmosphere with lots of life! If I was a local I would be here monthly!

Highly recommend.

(The stuff shells don’t look like much from the photo but they were very tasty!)

Pleasantly surprised. Stayed at the hotel near the airport and googled restaurants near me. This place had decent reviews so I thought I’d give it a chance.
Food was delicious, service was attentive, kitchen was clean. Would recommend for anyone having a taste for Italian.

Love you guys, I have been a customer for over 30 years, know the telephone number by heart but you guys dropped the ball this time. Ordered a pizza to be delivered. Waited an hour and a half for it to be delivered. Called and was told it was down for pickup. Gave the address twice on the phone. I don't want to leave a bad review as I am a huge fan but I'm stuck with a ice cold pizza. I know you're better than this.

Dinner was excellent! Our server, Dillon, told me about their sauce which is a combination of marinara and Alfredo. It is outstanding. He suggested it with the gnocchi with mushrooms and Italian sausage and it was delicious. Hubby had lasagna and it was great too.

My husband and I had at dinner here on our last night of a trip to detroit. We were looking for something close to our hotel so that we could have a few drinks and have a short drive. The interior of the restaurant is a very large but cozy feeling. Our server, Danielle, was prompt to get our drink orders. She was very pleasant and gave us great service this evening. We both started with the antipasto appetizer. It was a great serving for two people with assortments of cured meats, cheese, and bruschetta along with a nice bread basket. It was very tasty and a great start to the meal. Since we didn't have any place to take food home we ended up sharing one entree, Gamberi Salice, between the two of us. It was a penne pasta in a tomato based cream sauce with shrimp and sausage. It was the perfect amount for the two of us to share and was very good. We finished the evening with the cannoli dessert and a limoncello drink for me. The cannoli was also very good but I wished it did not have knots on the ends. Overall a great dining experience!
