Saputo's

Saputo's has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was excellent—I started with the olive salad, which was fresh and tasty, followed by the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was tender, and the marinara sauce really stood out with its rich, flavorful taste. However, the service was slower than I'd hoped, which took away from the experience a bit. If you're not in a hurry, the great food and cozy ambiance make it worth the wait.

Food is average. The atmosphere is great. It is so old school. Atmosphere is outstanding. $50 lunch for 2 with no alcohol.

Filet was fantastic. Tiramisu is also very good. Worth the visit.

Saputo's has been around since the 1950s and is worth the visit. It has a family feel; good for gatherings of close friends and couples. They offer homemade entrées and sufficient wine & bar selections.

There's low lighting, increasing the feeling of exclusivity. There's a sign on the door instructing gentlemen to wear shirts with sleeves. Only a few followed the suggestion, but it would be very fitting for a more upscale place like this. Reservations aren't a bad idea, especially for parties larger than 4!

Zach was my server and was very attentive. Escargot was a tad bland, could have used some more garlic and served in an escargot dish with cheese.
The combo spaghetti and ravioli dish was delicious, Zach suggested the marinara and it didn't disappoint.
The tiramisu was a good ending to the meal.

Had a nice dinner on a Thursday night. Only had to wait a minute for a table. Seems like an old school, family run Italian restaurant. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The meal came with bread and cracker basket, as well as a salad. My main course was lasagna with meatballs. Very good meal.

Outstanding service from Dawsonaa! She always made sure our drinks were filled, brought our food out quickly & was so sweet! I loved the sausage bites with the sauce. The filet steak was perfect & the pasta was outstanding. Their red sauce is so good. I am so glad we picked this place on our short 2 day visit to Springfield. When we are back in town; definitely coming here!

Went 3 times within 5 days. Had shrimp fettuccine the first time. It was absolutely amazing. The second time, I got the fettuccine alfredo with broccoli. Was ok, not a lot of flavor. The last time I went, I got the filet. Wow! Was cooked perfectly medium-rare. Melt in your mouth. Had great flavor. Would definitely recommend eating here. Ask for the au jus for dipping your bread if you love garlic!

We decided to give this place a try even though the reviews was a lower 4. However, I need to go back and figure why anyone would rate this lowered than a 4. The staff was friendly, food was served extremely fast and the food was really good. When in Springfield and you have a taste for Italian food go to this place, this is where the deals get done while enjoying wonderful food.

The food was great! The lasagna was very unique and the desserts were very good. The staff was very welcoming. We picked this restaurant for dinner and we couldn't be wrong. This was a great choice. I will come back again if I can when I go back to Springfield.

Excellent! The food was delicious and plentiful. The waitress was attentive but not overly so. I had, and recommend, the meatball sandwich, my friend had the manicotti, both were great. The Italian fries weren't very good; at first they were nice but if you don't eat them right away they get soggy with oil. The only problem I had was I couldn't pull my chair close to the table because it hit the table base. I definitely recommend visiting for great Italian food.

Best steak! Had not had in years but still as good as ever and huge serving--I def had some for take home too! Also love their baked everything--lasagna yummmm. Service is great which is hard to find nowadays!

Nice italian place. Food was great and it was only a couple of blocks from the hotel. Bartender must've been having a bad day, she had a permanent scowl. The rest of the staff was delightful.

Delicious food and fantastic service! Saputos NEVER disappoints! I live over an hour away and I never regret the drive! The bread is phenomenal. Olive oil is available upon request.

We decided on Saputo’s last minute and are extremely glad we did. The minestrone had by far the best flavor of any I’ve ever had. My youngest had the shrimp scampi and surprisingly ate it all, dad had the lasagna and could not stop with the compliments. I had the ravioli, mixed, cheese and meat. Everything exceeded our expectations. Our server was Zach and he was an excellent server, always there to cater to us. Highly recommend.

We went early around 3ish. The service was top-notch, food was delicious (old- world style) and authentic, and we were treated with respect and quickly served. Really enjoyed ourselves in the ambiance.

Friendly service and great food. I always get the escargot when I'm in town. Over the weekend I had the eggplant parmesan and while I was pleasantly surprised of the slight kick, the portions were generous and it came with Spaghetti and a salad. The spaghetti had the same sauce as the eggplant parmesan and the salad was basically a bowl of lettuce with 3 little chunks of tomato. The dressing was SUPER flavorful so I can't complain. 😋 One of favorite go-to's in Springfield.

O...M...G!!! Suputo's is bomb diggity!!! From their authentic food to their amazing wine and absolute best bread and house dressing. I was so satisfied that i made sure that I went back to my room and went to sleep afterwards! Lol! The fresh bread was warm and amazing and the pasta was fye!!! 😂 If you come there make sure you ask for McKenzie the server . She was an absolute gem and made my experience so enjoyable and pleasant, that I will definitely be back again. If you want authentic Italian cuisine, then go to Suputo's whenever you are in Springfield ,IL. Oh and the wine was perfect. Also, the house Italian dressing is soooo good, that I bought the bottle for $10! I highly recommend this entire experience!!!

Skip the appetizer if you're only passing through. You'll need a fridge for leftovers. This place is for real. The bread will make you cry - tears of joy!
