Mountain House Tavern and Grill

On 2 May 2024 I decided to stop by at the Mountain House. I walked in and it is an amazing interior. It’s a bit of rustic, a little bit of industrial and very aesthetically pleasing. as I was meeting a friend there I obviously got there way too early so I sat at the bar and enjoyed a nice beer with some amazing fried pickles. Anybody that knows me knows my weakness is fried pickles and I have to say these are some of the best I’ve had in my almost 60 years. They were crispy and crunchy was spicy and I wish I would’ve gotten a couple more orders. When my friend arrived, we went out and sat by the lake. We both ordered the New York strip steak, which was cooked exactly the way we wanted it and came with a sauce and some onions and mushrooms on top. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of the mistake because as soon as it was put in front of me, I just dug in and started eating. It wasn’t until I was almost done that I said dang it. I should’ve taken a picture. The steak came with vegetables and potatoes. I’m going back to the mountain house to try the fish tacos and the tzatziki bowl. Those caught my eye, but I didn’t have enough room in my belly. And you can see from the picture I attached. It is a great view, and it was very peaceful and relaxing.

What a wonderful place, I went hiking in a waterfall nearby, and on the way there, seen this place.
I highly recommend it for a lunch or dinner, service is fast and kind ppl are working there, food is very well prepared, fresh and delicious, there is a full bar in another section, I don’t drink, but the place looks top notch!

Lovely place, delicious food, good service, take a look at my photos. So if you go to visit the Delaware water gap area, that is a good place to eat delicious.

Great place to grab a quick bite. I think we tried all burgers there are on the menu - meat is good and temperature is always right! Waiters are very attentive. Cannot wait to come back! Thank you

We enjoyed dining here, they had stuff to keep kids occupied and the staff was friendly. The food was very good. That wood fired thin crust is surprising filling, the pie itself was very good! There’s definitely someone experienced running the place.

The food, the waiters, the lakefront view, the atmosphere and the clean bathrooms surpassed my expectations. This place is a hidden gem.

Had a great time here with a large party celebrating a birthday. The food was great, good portions and awesome specials too. Our service was fantastic as well. If I wasn't from another state I would be back for sure.

Wasn't on the side with live music by the bar but when going to the restroom the singer sounded very good as well.

The wood-fired pizza at Mountain House Tavern and Grill was an absolute delight! The crust had the perfect crispiness, the toppings were fresh, and the smoky flavor from the wood fire added an extra layer of deliciousness. My hubby brought me here for my birthday lunch date. The view was the best part!! 😍 Just love the fall season! Sat outside to enjoy it! The pumpkin beer was yummy! The pulled pork tacos & fries were delish.

We were so happy with this place from the drinks to the food and we sat outside on a beautiful day what more could you want we actually spent like 4 hours here what awesome way to spend the afternoon in front of a beautiful lake we will definitely be back and thank you again!!!!! 😄

Got louder the later it got. A larger party came in and was really loud. Not the restaurants' fault It was really great food and the server was very nice. My margarita was perfect. So was the salmon I ate. Would def go back

We loved our meals and drinks! Awesome staff and nice atmosphere. Live music from time to time. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking can get slim on the weekends.. but it's because it's such a great place!

Came in randomly on a Saturday a couple weeks ago and was very good! Was a perfect day out and we sat in the outside seating overlooking the lake. I had the tzatziki bowl which I recommend and their fries were really good too.

Hiker friendly, with outdoor sitting and had some live music!
I had a cheeseburger with fries, and my husband had the Tzatziki Bowl. My only complaint was that the fries were delicious and I wish I had ordered more!! Lol
The live music was nice, and not extremely loud.
The outdoor sitting was right off the lake.
The service was probably my favorite part. The host was the sweetest young lady that made us feel very welcomed. She even said if we needed to charge anything (we are AT thru hikers) we could put it at her station and she'd watch our items. Also our waitress was excellent!

Highly recommend this restaurant!

After a little hike on the Appalachian trail, we drove a short minute and came to the tavern. The place just opened and had another customer inside so our service was fast and friendly. I got the house special steak Tacos which were so flavorful and delicious. Wish they came with fries but that’s why we ordered extra fries on the side. We wanted the raspberry dessert but they didn’t have it so we chose something else. We will definitely come back here after another hike in the area.

We do stop here all the time but I had to share that the creamy pesto pasta is absolutely amazing. Like, out of this world flavor, thank you chef for making a no meat version for me. It's 👍👍👍👍

Had lunch there on Saturday. Food was excellent , onion soup was delicious and our waitress was so nice. Highly recommend.

I couldn’t be happier about having stopped to eat here. The food was AMAZING, the service was fantastic, the seating was wonderful- I was just so happy about every little thing here! I can’t recommend this place enough- it is definitely worth visiting!!

I was in the area with some friends for the weekend and we had lunch outside here. No offense to Branchville but we were honestly shocked at how good this food was! Creative recipes, great flavor, prepared well, and extremely reasonable prices. Must try the short rib fries and shrimp tacos! Two of my friends got the fries chicken sandwich and it came with two full size patties!! I had a cocktail which was tasty as well. And the view of the lake was lovely. Great food, great vibes, will definitely come again!
