Best beach for families and kids . No waves since it is the bay . It doesn't get waist deep until about 50 yards out from shore . Lots of sand bars. Restrooms and showers. If you are so inclined, there are food and drink carts. I would bring your own because it's da beach it's pricey. Great view of the ferry coming and going from the port . Sometimes, you may catch dolphins swimming on the horizon. Get there by 9am if you expect to get good parking . After 10am forget it . You are most likely not going to get a spot . Get there early . They open at 6am I believe.

We love coming to this beach!
We come here whenever we're in the mood to get out of the house. The beach does not have food, but with that, it makes up with clean sand, friendly people, a short walk to the beach, and clean and easily accessible restroom/ showers. The waves are not as it's easier on our kids, and if you get there early, you can get a spot right up front. Sometimes, it takes a minute to find a parking spot. However, we usually get one within 10 min. If you're looking for a place to bring the family, this is where I would go.

If you love the beach but prefer calm water, this is the place for you. Situated in the bay, just behind the cape; the waves are small and calm. Perfect for a relaxing swim or swimming with young children. If ocean waves are your preference, drive or bike into Cape Henlopen State Park and get your fill.

Very calm water and multiple sand bars to walk out on. (June) Horseshoe crabs and clean water. Nice place to chill and unplug with restrooms. Close to historical district, eateries, and ferry.

It’s a nice little beach and a pleasant atmosphere. But it’s also very expensive to park. 2:50 an hr.
The government can’t seem to get enough money from people who want to take their family and friends out to have a nice time in the water with a little sun and sand.
A very few benefits from the many who are charged for everything even after being already taxed.

This is a very nice beach reasonable amount of park with a couple lots. Bathroom and shower facilities at two of the lots. Umbrella and chair rentals with a small snack stand. This is more of a locals semi touristy beach. The popular tourist chaos is a few miles south at Rehoboth.

Perfect beach for young children and handicapped individuals. You can take your dog after 6pm.

Perfect beach for kids, sand bar allows for walking out quite far. Waves are minimal being the bay. Bugs are non-existent. Not many jellyfish (saw a couple people/kids stung but there aren't swarms of jellies). Parking fills quick, but there always seems to be people coming and going so spots eventually open up. Price is $5 for 2hrs. Lots of food trucks and Dairy Queen within walking distance. Distance to beach isn't too far of walk. There are bath houses and an outside shower. Lifeguards are always a benefit!

This beach was really nice and I had a fun experience watching the fireworks and playing on the beach. I would recommend this beach if you are just sitting around and have nothing to do.
Savannah Beach was overall 5 stars!!!

Lots of parking, lots of beach space, everything is flat, no dunes to walk over. Water is shallow and slopes down very gently. No waves. Bathrooms open late and outside spigot to wash off. Parking through ParkMobile which is the same for all the beach towns. Sunset views. Dogs allowed in the evening. The week we were it was too hot during the day-95 actual temperature.

Really nice beach, much better than expected. Calm and shallow waters, you can lounge in the water for hours, play games or just relax. If you want to swim you can just go a little deeper. It has showers and bathrooms and metered packing. Totally recommend!

Clean, ample parking (metered via app), bathroom stalls available (sometimes clean, sometimes hot and a little dirty), lifeguards in summer.

Visited couple of years back for 4th of July Fireworks and had a great time. Family friendly beach with decent parking space on normal days but can get pretty busy on long weekends. Since I was planning for July 4th, I made sure I was at the beach by 3 PM.

Would definitely visit this beach more frequently if I lived nearby.

My wife and I have been taking our kids here for years and they love it . My wife went here when she was a kid with her family and now we are picking up the same tradition. Nice beach never packed and always have parking. My boys love it . I would recommend this place to everyone. Great beach to take your family and can feel save and enjoy yourself.
Parking is $1.50 for 30 minutes and beach is open until 8pm

As a family we usually rent a home for a week. This year was wonderful only one day of rain. Lewes works hard to maintain the family environment. So nice to find a beach town that has resisted the carnival atmosphere and remained true to the family beach day ideal.

This beach is family friendly and great for little ones. My youngest who just turned 7 could go in the waves and play. They were not to ruff for him. The sand was soft to walk through. You do have to pay to park in the parking lot. However, there are bathrooms and in door showers. We also saw out door showers and heard that there was a snack bar near by. Overall, we had a really great experience.

Very nice short beach. Very nice view of the Cape May Lewes Ferry! Showers and rest rooms. Must remember tag number to pay for parking. They will ticket you. Cops patrolling everywhere.

Lovely beach with chair and umbrella rentals from the Lions club building. We had a wonderful hot day there and the water was so so cool to cool down in.
