Grass Roots Garden Center

It's a tough world out there, and I needed a break from it. I decided to immerse myself in this gorgeous, beautiful nursery. I took it slow; l strolled through the sea of color in the greenhouses, touched the smooth and textured leaves, and talked with the always friendly Pam. One plant insisted on going home with me, so I left smiling, relaxed, and a little more able to deal with the world.

Great prices and selections. I love this place, they added new perks. Parrots, a serenity area and the largest plants I've ever seen.

Grass Roots is a short 20ish minute drive from Columbia county is always a fun trip to browse there great selection of plants. We always so we will go and just "browse" but always end up finding something new and taking a house plant home. They have one of if not the best greenhouses in the area. The outside area has really great ponds and custom mini streams which are wort checking out just on there own. The very staff is friendly and helpful with tons of knowledge of the plants.

It is absolutely worth stopping in!

They learn your name, personalize your garden and crop experience, and have a wealth of expertise. I use them for my farm. Their compost, the good stuff, is amazing. My garden is full of life, and I have a brown thumb at best. I spoke with a gentleman, Ryan, who learned my name and what I bought during one interaction, our first. I saw him outside of the business the next day getting lunch, remembered me and said hey and asked how the planting went. Timeliness manners and knowledge.

We couldn't be more pleased with the customer service and plant selection at this nursery. Certainly will be returning there. The knowledge they shared with us made our selections simple. Thanks to all of the staff that assisted my wife Leslie and me.

One of the most knowledgeable and spectacular garden centers in South Carolina. I recommend this place so frequently! After all why go to a "walmart" when you can go to a "target"!

Explored in the greenhouse and inside the store. It’s beautiful and Great selection of succulents and house plants. Some hidden gem plants that are harder to find with mostly affordable prices. Some fun interactive terrarium making and other beautiful decor throughout. Customer service was great!

First off, I have found my people.......this place is so amazing. It is a plant persons paradise!!! Flowers, herbs, fruit and flowering trees and all things needed to take care of them. The staff was so amazing, especially Connie(I think that was her name). Her enthusiasm let me know she genuinely loves her job and that let's me know the plants are well cared for❤

I was there on day one when Grass Roots Yard Supply opened, in 2021, and I will be there until they no longer exist (or I no longer exist). The owners of this quant and cozy nursery are absolutely fantastic. They have a great report with customers, as well as a great group of staff who are very personable and knowledgeable. There are several nurseries in the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area), and this is one of the only ones where you can find the owners working in the greenhouse, digging to help with landscaping, watering plants, etc.. In addition to the physical labor they put in to this business, they also are very accommodating and willing to do what it takes to please their customers. If they don't have something (which they likely do, as their selection is extremely large), they will see what they can do to get a plant or item to their shop for their customers. One instance of their generosity could be seen during the holiday period in 2021, when they did a "12-days of Christmas" raffle. All visitors were allowed one free ticket entry, and would receive another with each $25 spent. The prizes ranged form bird baths, to gift cards, to.. believe it or not.. a $1400 plant! It was truly amazing, and the type of community-oriented fun and generosity everyone loves to see. Not only are they accommodating when it comes to requests, they also have an amazing and beautiful collection of rare and highly difficult to find plants that everyone in the house-plant community raves over. They have mulch, river rocks, stones, and all types of landscaping materials, all at an extremely affordable price. (I believe it cost approximately $150 for an entire truck load of mulch last spring, and I am still trying to find a use for the leftover). All in all, there is far too much to say about this amazing up-and-coming nursery, but it is definitely one to check out.

The owners are really pleasant and knowledgeable. Beautiful place with a variety of intriguing plants. Highly recommend this store for your indoor and outdoor plant needs.

I made my first visit to this nice place. The owner was very nice. Everybody greeted me.

I was surprised by the size of the place. There's the upper lot and the lower lot. It’s a beautiful place. All the shiny baubles for the garden are inside the building, and that’s a great set up!

It was a well-paced Friday afternoon. I chose my azaleas; they got loaded and driven up to the parking lot to my car.

The outside setting is lovely too. Highly recommend, prices are competitive with big box stores and other similar local retailers.

First visit to this nursery. I only had a few minutes to look around but what an amazing place. I'll definitely return in the very near future. Highly recommend for all of your landscaping needs. Staff is awesome. Answered all my questions. Their customer service is exceptional. Something that is rare these days. They also offer events throughout the year. April 23rd is Earth Day class. Starts at 10 am.

This is a great place to buy various trees, flowers, mulch,, rock, hardscape, fruits, vegetables, fertilizer, bird houses, hummingbird feeders, etc. I love this new store! Also, if you like candles, they have some really awesome candles here too. Check them out today!

The prices are great and owners are friendly. Had a great time looking at plants and very impressed how healthy and gorgeous thier plants are. I am already planning on returning for more. 😄
