The owners and employees are so welcoming, and the sandwiches are GREAT! Clean and spacious spot. So happy they’ve brought this back to Cville.

I am so excited that Little John's has reopened! Back in the late 90's the Wild Turkey was my favorite sandwich. I remember it vividly! I can't believe they have made it exactly the same way 25 years later - same type of turkey, bread ...everything! My daughter is going to UVA in the fall and I am excited that she gets to enjoy the same amazing food and experiences at Little Johns!! I will definitely be coming back here when I visit Charlottesville!!

Little John’s has always been my go-to spot since my college days, so I was super bummed when they closed down. But guess what? They’re back under Bill’s management and it’s honestly better than ever. They’ve nailed keeping everything we loved about the old place—the sandwiches taste just like they used to. Plus, checking out is a breeze now. Seriously, if you loved it before or you’re just checking it out now, you’ve gotta try it. Can’t recommend it enough!

You guys are amazing! Since you opened back up I think the grubhub drivers are jacking part of your orders. I would start taking pics of every order before sending.

I’ve been going to little John for nearly 30 years ! The customer service is excellent! The food is excellent! Don’t let the haters detour you from this place! My question is has anyone every worked in a restaurant and dealt with crybaby guests?? Yeah a bunch of victims!!

Wow! Casual sandwich spot with seriously good food. Solid bread (dense enough to hold the meat juices, cheese, and sauces but isn't eating a brick of dough). $10 for sandwich, drink, and chips per person (great prices!!). Ample meats, toppings, and quick, efficient cordial staff. Pastrami was tender, turkey and ham solid deli meats. Wouldn't change a thing, will definitely be returning soon.. everything was simple & good variety on menu (including soups, salads, and good vegetarian sandwich options).

First visit today and we weren't disappointed. The food was awesome!

Sometimes it is good when something stays the same. Same delicious sandwiches and subs as we remember, always. Tried the special, the Kyle Guy, and was not disappointed!

Amazing selection of delicious sandwiches, and subs! The food tastes fresh and full of flavor. A friend of mine said "it's just a glorified Subway" - how wrong he is, and he doesn't exactly like sandwiches, so there's that.
The food is awesome and they're quick too. Very conveniently located on 'the corner'.

Had the Chipotle Chicken sub and Broccoli Cheddar soup combo. Absolutely incredible sub and great soup. Wonderful atmosphere and great pricing for the quality. Only disappointment is I didn't know of this place awhile ago. My girlfriend got the Blue Max and Pasta salad which she enjoyed very very much. Everything was fresh and tasty!

Great little sandwich shop across from the UVA lawn. They have a good selection of sandwiches, soups and salads. Everything is fresh and delicious. Both times we have been it was rather busy and hard to find a table inside. Thankfully you can walk across the street and find a bench outside on the campus to eat if it's too crowded. They do have restrooms, but if you are a bigger person or are pregnant you won't be able to fit around the door to use it. It is a small place, but well worth the line for a good sandwich.

What the hell? I just heard this place is temporarily closed. Not only do they have delicious food, the service is excellent too. I was an international student at UVA back in 2017 and due to some circumstances, I was homeless for 2 weeks. Littlejohn's that was open 24x7 at the time, allowed me to spend several hours at night during that time in there - no questions asked. I will forever be grateful for them. Please start a gofundme or something. I am sure, plenty of people would contribute.

This is the best sandwich shop I've ever visited. I understand that it's a biased statement since I haven't been to very many but I always stop at this place whenever I find myself in Charlottesville.

A big selection of sandwiches and all of them are well made. Service is quick and accurate. Prices are fair. Love this place.

Best breakfast sandwich I've had in a long time. I believe they cook their eggs in a cast iron, had a minor issue with it but boy would I go there again. Order your breakfast sandwich on a Kaiser roll...perfection.

I have traveled all around the US trying the most creative and unique sandwiches. I have heard from my VA friends that Little John's have great sandwiches. Wow!! The Chris Long sub is amazing!!! Staff is friendly and prices are great for location.

Great sandwiches and worth the wait. Depending on the time of year you may also get caught in a horde of college students going for the best hangover cure on the corner. Don't bypass the cookies or muffins either.

Excellent food and excellent atmosphere!

I first discovered this staple of UVA-life back in 1985 but it has been a Charlottesville favorite for generations. I try to visit everytime I pass Charlottesville (4-6 times per year). You cannot go wrong with any/every menu item; my personal favorite is their Nuclear sub. For the seasoned (and hungry) visitor, I recommend the Ralph Sampson (no longer on the menu board but still available). Their italian sub is also fabulous (takes me back to the best sandwich shops in NYC).
*** COVID UPDATE *** - currently closed (reported as temporary but has lasted all of 2020). Hope it reopens soon; I'll drive the 3hrs just to celebrate reopening and have a great lunch!

Little John's is a Charlottesville staple. Joining the very very limited 24/7 group in this city, if it's the wee hours of the night, this is where I go to get a sandwich. They also have a nice selection of locally made cookies muffins and deserts. They've expanded their menu quite a bit over the years and now have flatbreads and lighter fare options as well as the classics. The onion wheel was my go to for years, the Chris Long sub is awesome and very filling. They also have some awesome breakfast options for the morning crowd.

The corner, where Little John's is, can be very overwhelming when the students are in town, so just keep that in mind. UVA has really stepped up their security and has a station that's basically next door and I'm glad to know that they are there if I happen to venture that way by myself just as a side note.

Had the Kyle Guy and Chris Long Sub. This pace never disappoints and is a UVA / Corner staple. Delicious food and good service as always. It's a must-go place when in town for this alum!
