Rented Truck Driver

I had an emergency move. Our close family friend, who is in remission from cancer, could not drive their U-Haul truck at very last moment, due to some medical issues. In order to reunite the family in TX and get our friend out of this stressful situation, we had to find a driver who would drive their loaded U-Haul, and towed car, from KY to Austin, TX. After speaking to two companies who insisted we use their moving trucks, I found Frank and Kenny at Rented Truck Driver. Once I explained the situation, within minutes I was talking to the owner Frank, who said they could help me the very next day and not price gouge me. Within hours, he had a wonderful Austin local, Adam, flying to KY. They communicated with me the whole way and honestly, it could not have gone smoother. The price was way below what I was expecting and the service was phenomenal. We needed to focus on our friends health and they made this as painless as possible. They promised to help us and not take advantage of us, and he came through. The team at Rented Truck Driver, including our new Austin friend Adam, come highly recommended! If I had known it would be this easy and cost effective, I would have done it from the beginning. Rented Truck Driver did everything they said they were going to do, and more!!!! In planning my move from Texas to Colorado I researched it all. Full service movers were either going to be at the new place in 24 hours with a dedicated trip or take five to seven days with a hodge podge of other people’s stuff; neither a very appealing option. Then I found Rented Truck Driver. I read all the reviews, crossed my fingers and reached out! They answered all my questions and by the time I got off the phone, I felt like the weight of the world had been taken off my shoulders!!! Everything was explained clearly in the final agreement and there were no surprise fees or hidden charges. David, my driver, is a totally awesome human, very professional and handled my belongings with care! Loved the group chat that started several days before the move! When I vented to the chat that Penske was trying to mess things up, Frank offered to reach out to Penske on my behalf!! To start, I am so glad to have found out about Rented Truck Driver, as this felt so much better than any moving company (and a better value as well!) I am very happy with the quality of service provided, and everything went pretty much perfectly throughout the entire process! I appreciate the thorough communication; Frank, the owner, reached out frequently and kept us constantly up-to-date. Our driver was Charles, and he was absolutely fantastic! He went above and beyond to assist us in the cross-country moving process. Not only is he a great driver (including towing my car behind the truck), but he was also very personable, providing for fun conversations. He was always early for our set times (which was helpful for us), and this included arriving at the destination. Since he had some extra time before his flight, he was more than willing to assist us with moving our things to our apartment! This saved us significant time and energy, which we are very grateful for. In the contract/emails, everything was clear and spelled out in detail (no surprise costs!!!), leaving nothing unanswered. If/when we had questions though, Frank and the others were glad to help, to the point of even providing a number to text for quick responses. I think the best sign of how great the service was is in my mother, who was initially very nervous about the move. However, by the end, she was singing the praises of this company and our driver. I'd call that a job well done!

I used Frank and RTD years ago for a move from Washington, D.C. to Napa, CA and it was a great experience. I just looked him up for a customer of mine and saw all these other great reviews. Frank, I see you moved down south to sunny Florida. Good call and keep up the great work!

Rented Truck Driver was a life saver! The whole process was so easy and to-the-point. I reached out fairly last minute (a few weeks before my move from South Carolina to Colorado) and Frank was really great about answering any questions, getting me a quote very quickly as well as assuring me he'd be able to find a driver. And he did! Our driver Mark was really great! He was considerate, helpful and very kind. He even arrived at the final destination a few hours earlier than expected! I would absolutely recommend this company again! It's a great service that they provide along with being a company that really makes sure their customers are well taken care of. Frank and his team were absolutely first class. They answered every question, alleviated all concerns, and were extremely communicative throughout our cross-country moving process. They are also cost-effective. The driver of our U-haul was Paul from Texas. Experienced driver, buttoned up, and even a better guy. I would have trusted him with my kids. I will recommend them to everybody I know who is looking for a moving service and/or professional driver.

Absolutely 5 stars and beyond. When I had an unexpected move from Virginia to Maine during a pandemic I was at my whits end until I found Rent a Truck Driver! I contacted Frank and was beyond pleased with his quick response and the subsequent arrangements that were made for my move. My interaction with both Frank and Harry (my driver) via email, text and phone were all pleasant and professional. We are SO grateful we found Frank at Rented Truck Driver and connected with our driver, Julian! Everything about this service was fair, streamlined, and professional. The owner was very helpful and Julian was friendly, punctual, communicative and very capable -- as soon as we met him, we knew our stuff was in great hands! Everything went exactly as Frank said it would upfront, with fair and reasonable prices. The absolute best part about this experience was that our furniture arrived at our new home the next day -- no waiting 2 - 4 weeks hoping your boxes will show up. Highly recommend!

Our experience with RentedTruckDriver could not have been better. The entire team is super helpful, responsive, and most of all honest. We had a terrible experience hiring movers for our last long distance move so we decided to rent a truck and hire a driver this time and we are so glad we did. The driver assigned to us, Michael C, was so communicative and kind and we felt great knowing he was in charge of all our belongings as he drove them from NC to CA. We hope we don’t have any more long distance moves in the future but if we do we will use RentedTruckDriver without hesitation.

An absolute A+ experience! Frank and his team made sure our entire planning of the trip and the transaction all went super smooth. The follow up and confirmation calls and emails and instructions regarding the driver made us feel so secure in our choice of Rented Truck Driver to drive our car pulling a UHaul to our new destination. I can't say enough about Preston, our driver! He is simply the best and I have a feeling the other drivers for Frank are the same. He kept in touch, had me follow him on a navigation app and was waiting for us when we arrived at our destination with a smile on his face! I would recommend both the company and Frank as a driver over and over again! Fantastic!

Moving cross country is so stressful but finding Frank and his team removed a huge burden of that stress and eased the process greatly. It really did seem too good to be true but it really was all that they promised. Our driver Paul was super flexible with our schedule and arrived when expected with no issues or unpleasant surprises. I do not look forward to another move but if we need to I will definitely use this company again and strongly recommend them to anyone I know making a move.

We had a fantastic experience with RTD! Our driver, Preston, was so easy, pleasant (and funny!) to work with. We received wonderful service from the whole team, especially Brenda. Moving everything you own from one state to another can be pretty nerve-wracking, but the RTD team put us at ease and kept in constant communication during the whole process. They made sure all of our belongings made it to our destination safely and timely, and they saved us a BOAT LOAD of money based on the quotes we received from several full service moving companies. Frank was awesome and answered all of my questions. It was quite stressful for me to figure out the logistics of moving from one state to another on my own Frank and his team did not disappoint and helped me figure things out efficiently. I used a Penske truck over Uhaul and I am glad I did. No delays on the day of pick up, during the drive, and drop off. Worth the extra money spent for reliability and peace of mind.

We had a great experience with Rented Truck Driver. Brian was our driver and he took us through every step of his trip to get our belongings to our new place halfway across the country. Everything got there perfectly and ahead of schedule. The communication during the trip was great. From start to finish, the experience put our mind at ease to our belongings and to have an experienced driver like Brian definitely helped us not have to worry about that part of our move.

Frank (owner), his team and the driver (David) saved the day!!! I called them literally 2 days before of my scheduled departure (which we were going to drive across the country ourselves). Not only did Frank's team found us a driver within the hour, but also ironed out every single detail and provided an amazing price and fast delivery. From the moment I called them to meeting the driver in LA, the daily check-ins through a group text while our cargo was on the way, to meeting the driver in NYC (our destination), the process literally could not have been smoother. I can not possibly write a review that will do Frank and his amazing team justice. I hired Rented Truck Driver based on their reviews and they exceeded my expectations by miles. From day one Frank was very responsive and professional while at the same time being reassuring and comforting – something incredibly helpful during a cross country move. He considers his employees family, and it shows. Brenda and Sarah were always quick to send confirmation emails, updates, and answer any questions. Frank gave me his cell number and made himself fully available. As I will write below, he went above and beyond with this and saved our move from disaster when we discovered at the last minute that we needed a second driver. Frank has a very efficient, transparent, and effective system for handling all communications, payments, etc. He is crystal clear what the cost will be upfront and how payments will be handled. He will send a very detailed email explaining everything. He is very honest and fair in all of his dealings. Our first driver Bruce Rickley did a wonderful job. We had a 26’ truck and Google Maps ended up diverting the route over two lane roads (Farm to Market roads for those of you who know Texas) for the last 4 hours of a 20-hour drive. Bruce managed it all well and got to our destination ahead of schedule. He was easy to communicate with and very professional. But here is where Frank became an absolute ROCK STAR. We were moving from Michigan to Texas. At the last minute, literally 3pm the afternoon before we were due to leave at 8am the following morning, we figured out we needed a second truck. There were a million moving parts at play, we were exhausted and very stressed, and suddenly we not only needed a second truck, but also needed a second driver. At 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. This seemed IMPOSSIBLE. I may have had a meltdown at that point. I called Frank and this is where he became a legend. Frank calmed me down. Told me to find a truck and he would find a driver. One hour later he not only had a driver but had booked the driver on a red eye out of Dallas so that we were still able to leave the next morning at 8am. I was absolutely stunned. He then got on the line with the truck rental company with me and straightened out the details regarding the driver. He was amazing. Frank literally saved our move from disaster. Our second driver Jerry Holmes was amazing. He gave up family plans the next day to help us. Within 3 hours of me calling Frank, Jerry was heading to the airport. He arrived at our house bright and early at 8am the next morning. He was also easy to communicate with, was friendly, and very professional. Jerry arrived in Texas exactly when he said he would and even showed up at our new house early. If I ever need a driver again, I will only call Frank. He saved us from a huge mess, all with calm reassurance. He knows what he is doing and is incredibly honest and professional. If you are trying to discern who to hire, do not hesitate one bit. Hire Frank right now! I will never be able to thank Frank and his team enough for how they helped us.

Great team! Frank, Brenda and Sara were easy to communicate with and the driver Julian was absolutely fabulous. He delivered the large truck and trailer on time without a scratch over 2500 miles across country. I highly recommend this service as it is a huge timesaver and reduces stress during a move significantly. Open honest communication was present the entire move and I am just thankful that this service exists. Truly great experience, I can’t say enough about them.

Couldn't be happier. We researched moving companies, but all I saw was negative reviews. It is a pleasure writing a positive review of a company. Everything we discussed when signing the contract was done with efficiency and no drama. We moved from Chicago to Florida. Randall, our driver, showed up on time (actually a little early!) on the scheduled depart day as promised. He videoed a truck walk around, including the car transport making verbal notes along the way. This was to insure no issues once the trip had been completed. He explained the contract and any additional costs that might be involved (gas) and was on his way. He kept in touch with us throughout his journey and arrived at the drop off point on time. Once again another video, to verify all went well. I would HIGHLY recommend RTR for anyone renting a truck and need a driver for a long move as they provided exactly what to contract had stated with no surprises!!
