Oakmont Country Club

I hauled concrete here, they are doing big improvements but sad to no longer see the trails behind the golf course. All of the trails are gone.

Great place to work almost 34 years now. Caddied for Arnold palmer there and lead singer of Lady antimbelum and Dennis Quade .

As anticipated, PERFECT. Rained first nine holes and greens running at stimp14, day before stimp was 17.

Phenomenal. Always a pleasure to frequent. Lives up to being the best in the Nation. Not a golfer but the Library, Clubhouse and Pool are incredible!!! The events are fun and dining is superb. Quality of the food is consistent. I highly recommend the filet, which never fails to impress me.

It was awesome to go their for a dinner. The history in the clubhouse alone was overwhelming to ME. If your into golf you have to go at least once. The food was very good. The service was excellent. The staff was very nice to us. The building was in excellent shape. Everything was very clean including the restroom. The golf course was in excellent condition. It was very nice to play a round their. I hope to be able to again.

Playing at this course is a once in a lifetime treat. Immaculately maintained, incredibly challenging, and yet it never feels unfair. The clubhouse is a veritable golf museum -- photos, signed memorabilia, and framed letters from many of golf's greats. The locker room showers have, without a doubt, the best water pressure (and volume) I've ever experienced. Notwithstanding all this tradition, Oakmont feels unpretentious and understated. The pro shop staff knows every guest is giddy to "load up" on goodies, and they are charming and helpful. This is a model for every private club.

Went there for a wedding of an employee. The place is classic you expect Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to be walking through dressed in a top hat and Ginger in a wonderful dress. Great service great atmosphere great food, wonderfully trained staff, couldn't ask for anything more.

Our friends invited us for golf and dinner. Both were excellent. Pro shop employee, Annie was terrific. She helped me shop as well as ordered a shirt in my size. All was a great experience.

By far my most favorite course I have ever played. Everything about the experience was amazing. The greens were lightning quick and the rough was really high. As a 8 handicap, I was extremely happy with my 89. I hit it well and still didn't score well. The clubhouse is OLD SCHOOL and has a ton of history. So fortunate I was able to play it.

It was a very enjoyable 60th anniversary evening dinner with friends Dave & Joanne Brownly & the clubs special surprise. A wonderful time.

Unless you are a member, or know one, you are probably never going to get anywhere near here, so talking about the club is probably a waste of mine and your time. So I will limit it to a review of Oakmont and the US Open.
I have been to the last 2 (2007 and 2016). I worked the open for a member, and had to work directly with Oakmont staff. They are GREAT! Everything is over the top. Seeing how the grounds crew handled the rain on Thursday (2016), and everything that was done from parking lots and the course by Saturday was just amazing!
It's big, crowded, usually hot, and if you are lucky enough to get one of the prime bleacher seats, expect to have to sit there from dawn to dusk to keep them. Let me repeat, it's a big, hot, crowded, and very few places with shade. So if you don't like it hot, you will be very uncomfortable.

Visited Oakmont for the USOpen. Was only on the greens and the merchandise tents, didn't venture into the country club (bc I obviously wouldn't be allowed). But it was beautiful. They did a very good job at setting things up, and tried their hardest to combat the crazy rain. They opened late in order to cover the pathways with mulch, and while it worked in most places....it was still extremely muddy. Well worth the experience tho.
