Frances Slocum State Park Campground

Wonderful campground with plenty of shade!!! None of the sites have water hook up, but many have 30 and 50 amp service. Most of the spots are on the smaller size, with lots of trees and shade. The campground road is paved but the driveways are not. Parking for the camper was tight but the spot was fairly level. Almost filled to capacity on the weekend, but you really don’t feel it or even hear it. Lots of families and everyone seemed to be enjoying the campground. Each loop only has one bathhouse, not very up to date, but showers worked well (plenty of hot water) and very centralized location. A great place to stay and relax or stay and enjoy the pool or large lake. Two negative comments: the entrance to the campground has a sign which reads, “ campground amphitheater”. What the sign SHOULD read is “campground AND amphitheater”, as we mistook that and missed the turn. Other negative is we did NOT need to stop in at the camp office to register as we were told. Instead, we could have just driven into our spot and set up.

Don't forget to fill your water tank before unhooking! We do it at the dump station.

The valves are odd. Apparently, the main valve leaks because they have new ball valves attached. You have to activate both valves to get water. Luckily, someone left a stick that held the main valve open while I filled the tank.

Whave stayed here several times because our daughter lives nearby. The sites are pretty level from left to right. We have enjoyed every stay. We kayaked the lake once and it was quite pleasant.

Site 9 drops a lot at the back, so we end up with the hitch resting on the ground to get level.

We once had a bad outlet. Within a half hour of telling the front office, a person arrived to fix it.

We were expecting some rain but nonetheless had already scheduled our getaway. Lo and behold, the weather pattern worked us in and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.
While exploring, we came across an angler who had, on his stringer, a nice 10" or better Rainbow Trout. I left my kayak and fishing gear at home though because I needed a break from work and wanted to spend time with my Wife and bestest friend.

Nice clean and quiet. Love camping here. So peaceful. Lots of activities.

Nice campground. Quiet, well maintained. Some of the RV sites are shallow, so be careful if you have a longer rig. We will be back

A very quiet wooded campground. We had some confusion between what we thought the website said when we booked and what we actually found. Still not sure where the mix up was or if it was me or the website. Regardless, we had a pleasant nights stay. 👍🏼👍🏼

I just got home from a week camping was great the pool should be free for campers plus was closed during the week open on weekends only if it would have been great open for our vacation 😁 still had fun 😊

A great State Park has a fantastic building pool with water slide many trails and hundreds of picnic areas

Great state campground for all classes if RVs, and campers. Large section for tent camping. Enjoy the lake and miles of trails.

Absolutely love this park. Great for tents and RV. The scenery is amazing, the campsites are comfortable. Will definitely be back.

Nice sites though take recommended length seriously, bathrooms clean lake is pretty but there was algae bloom when we were there
