I took my boyfriend here and we absolutely LOVED the place! We were greeted with some delicious homemade chips and salsa. Our server was a very nice guy too. Not to mention, the place was BUSY but we got our food in a very timely manner.

I was expecting the portions to be less, but we were both quite impressed with how much food we got for our money! You definitely get more than what you would expect (which isn’t a bad thing.) I continue to crave this place everyday.

Not to mention, as a vegetarian it is always difficult to find restaurants with lots of options for me. Casa Mezcal did not fail! There are a ton of vegetarian options.

Great place, great food and service. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. Margarita's are very good and beer is cold. Highly recommended! Authentic Mexican.

WOW. just... wow. tastiest chicken tacos I've ever had. The queso dip was incredible and mild, without jalapeño skins. Our waitress was perfect - attentive, thoughtful, prompt and had a good memory.

Dinner specials are nice and reasonably prices. Drinks menu is a bit pricier ($5.50 beer, $8 wine glass) but if you get a more budget friendly meal, you can easily add drinks to your ticket without breaking the bank.

Been here twice in the last year. Each time the food and service were outstanding! Mexican food is not my favorite, but this is definitely one of my favorite places to eat anytime I'm in the area. Barely sat down before chips and salsa arrived and our drink order was taken. I don't usually go for Mexican as spicy food is too hot for me, but this place gets it perfect with a touch of spice or pepper and a lot of flavor. My only nitpick is sometimes the music gets a little loud. Prices were also fair - $65 for a margarita, two desserts, two entrees, and an appetizer. Portion size was also on the larger side. Great flavor, great value, great atmosphere.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being the type that drove you nuts. We had different steak burritos both were really good I would get mine again in a heartbeat. The queso chorizo was not spicy at all but really flavorful and I would love to try just their queso because it was also good the bits I got that wasn’t mixed in with our chorizo. For $40 plus tip we got a huge meal each and an appetizer with drinks although that means lemonade and water for us. Even if you get alcohol it would be a great deal. I don’t live close but when I’m in the area I will come here again.

We chose the combo, not disappointed.
The tamale was moist and so much flavor.
The chili Reno was the next item we tried and again not disappointed. Flavor exploded.
Server was cheerful helpful. Made sure our water cups were filled and kept our chips filled.
If you’re not close. Worth the drive

Loved the fresh mojitos and the chimichangas. Service was very quick and we were well taken care of. The chips and salsa were epic. We will definitely be back.

Holy cow. I’m an out-of-towner from New York City but have spent a lot of time in Yates County lately.

The only reason I’m saying that is because I’ve never had street tacos that have tasted this good. I shouldn’t be surprised, great chefs + local beef and produce is a formula for excellent tacos. The margs were great too.

This was the best Mexican food I have had in a LONG time. We had a little wait to get into the restaurant, but for a Saturday night, that was to be expected. Service was prompt and courteous. Dishes were excellent. I highly recommend this place if you are around Pen Yan

Top notch service, I wish I could give them 6 starts for their service. The place was busy when we arrived and yet we were lucky enough to find a seat at the bar. As soon as I sat down I had service, which is not my normal experience at bars. The tasty food was well presented with large proportions. You will be stuffed when you leave. While I could hear a hub bub and vibe from the many customers in the restaurant, I had no problem conversing with my companion. Don't miss this gem.

This was my first time eating at Casa Mezcal Reserva, and I was very impressed. The restaurant was packed so we decided to sit at the bar, and we only had to wait a few minutes for seats to open up. The bartender was very friendly and we got our order in quickly and our drinks soon after. I just got a beer, but my wife's peach margarita was outstanding and I don't normally like tequila. It took between 10-15 minutes for the food to come out and it was phenomenal. While I haven't eaten at every Mexican restaurant in the Finger Lakes, I can definitely say this is the best one I've been to so far.

We often see Casa Mezcal’s parking lot very full at dinner time, so we stopped in for Lunch in mid-August during the week. We had a great time! We were seated immediately and served warm chips and salsa. We ordered a couple of lunch entrees and they were delicious, good portion sizes (see picture) and most were under $10. I highly recommend eating here if you like authentic Mexican!

Just stopped in for lunch quick, but everything was notably delicious, even the chips & salsa they brought to the table. Fish tacos were great. Service was very friendly and responsive. Would definitely return, and even go out of my way to stop by!

Casa Mezcal, you have been a BLESSING to both the Penn Yan area, and my Tex-Mex loving heart.
We have gone in person three times so far, and taken carry out at least twice, and every time our experience has been excellent. My attached photos are from our first visit in June as well as our most recent visit, today Friday, October 13th.
The Azteca dip deserves a shout out, to start with. Smoothe, warm queso with bite size pieces of steak, shrimp, veggies and seasoning, this appetizer with a basket of house tortilla chips quickly stole our hearts. We have also taken it to-go and heated it up hours later at home and it re-heats very nicely.
Today we finally tried the tacos. I opted for steak with flour tortilla Original Street Tacos, and my husband got the Al Pastor Street Tacos (pork) on corn tortilla. We shared them and added the two house sauces they were served with as well as some habanero, and whew, EXCELLENCE. 100% hit the spot and my husband thanked me three different times for suggesting lunch 😆 dreaming of those delicious tacos reminded me to come write this review.
The Steak and Cheese burritos have been my go-to for a quick lunch. A massive burrito filled with steak and grilled peppers & onions (optional), smothered in a perfect blend of burrito sauce and queso. Eaten fork and knife style. Perfection. Our kids (7yo and 10yo) actually ordered these during our first visit and let us try a bite. We both immediately had FOMO and ordered them for lunch a few day later. No regrets.
The cocktails we've tried have always been lovely and fresh. The individuals working in various areas of the restaurant all seem to genuinely enjoy their work, and our service has always been friendly and accommodating.
We hope to continue enjoying every item on the menu for many, many years.

Amazing Mexican restaurant around Penn Yan! We went there on Saturday night for dinner and we manage to get a table right away. Service and atmosphere were great.

They provided chips and salsa to start with before we ordered drinks. For drinks, we ordered the Santa Victoria and La Catrina mezcals. For food, we ended order fajitas, one steak and one fajita Texana (mixed of steak, chicken, and shrimp). For dessert, we ordered churros. Food and drinks were flavorful.

Overall, would definitely go back when I’m around the Finger Lakes.

Four of us arrived at 6 p.m. on Mother's Day. The handicap parking space has a plant on the sidewalk, which blocks walkers, but we managed to maneuver around it. (Suggest moving the planter to make the entrance more functional.) Seated right away. We were missing silverware, but we were able to find some easily. Great food. Lots of staff. Clean bathroom. Great prices. Will definitely recommend and go back.

The food was SO good! I also really enjoyed they were decorated for Halloween/Dia de los Muertos and had themed cocktails! I got the street tacos with a pumpkin margarita and loved everything!
