African Best Restaurant

Every dish we ordered was very flavorful. No long wait. Not from the area but it was well worth the drive. We will definitely be back.

What a hidden gem! I am shocked this place does not have more reviews. When we went (around 6pm, on Saturday), the dining room was fairly empty, but customers did pop in for their food pick up.

I think everyone should know about this place. It is amazing. My husband and I had never had African food, so we weren’t sure what to order. He ended up getting the fried chicken, and I tried the (whole) fried fish. Both had crisp skin and were cooked to perfection. The rice was also absolutely yummy. And, while we waited, we were asked if we wanted meat pies. Those were golden with flaky crust and a soft meat and onion mixture. I recommend it all.

Best jerk chicken I've ever had. Service is wonderful, very kind. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, and the portions are huge. A single order of Jolof rice could feed you for 3 days.

To Nicole, the doordash "worker" giving this place 1 star, get a real job and maybe a high school diploma.

Live right next door and came by for the first time. Delicious chicken and plantains. Rice may have been a little old but it was super slow on a Monday so just glad they were open. My Togo box weighed more than I could eat; plenty of bang for your buck here. Very satisfied and would be interested in coming in for dinner sometime.

This food is banging!! Will be bringing my friends and family here. The jerk chicken, jollof rice, plantains, and the sauce were so good!!

I arrived at the restaurant around 4:45pm on 6/19/24. The owner came out and spoke with me after a few moments. She was very pleasant!
I needed to order something to serve about 10 people. I had no idea what to get. She was very helpful. I ordered some greens and rice, plantains also. We were having a pitch-in at church. I also ordered a little something for me later!
It took a little bit for her to cook it. But it was made fresh and I appreciated that!

It was a hit at my church meeting!

We saw that this place opened up and decided to give it a try since we like to be adventurous when it comes to food. Very new restaurant and we didn't know much about the food so we asked them just to give us a few authentic dishes so we could see what they had. The brought out jerk chicken with fried rice, casava leaf stew with white rice, and fried fish with casava root couscous. Everything was super flavorful and portions were large. Prices were great considering the portions. 4 of us tasted 3 meals and we had 2 to go boxes to take home. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

I'm honestly mad I didn't find out about this sooner. How am I just now finding out about how good African food is at 33??? Yall out here gate keeping this flavor. My theory on the reason you don't hear people raving about it is because they're isn't many African restaurants around and there aren't many around because it must take a lot of time and love to make this food and it is being kept close to the heart because of that. It's not for the masses, much too good, but if you are wise enough to wonder in there and try some soup, you are lucky.

Fabulous place to get a taste of Africa. First time there I received great service and end up purchasing more than food. Best part of the excellent service received was when I forgot my fried fish and was delivered to me. I’ll definitely be a returning customer 10/10. I recommend whoever hungry and ready to taste West African cuisine

We came here from Indiana for my birthday because I have been wanting to try the FuFu and egusi soup. My spouse got the fufu and peanut butter soup. BEST THING YOU WILL EVER PUT IN YOUR MOUTH! Amazing. The customer service is amazing too the lady helped us with how to eat it and everything so sweet! 100% recommend all the way around!

Door dashed from here last night!!! This food is good. First time trying, not the last. We had the egusi soup, and jollof rice with jerk chicken. Oh my word was it sooo delicious. Very familiar flavors reminds me of the culture handed down.

I found this place some months ago and every time I'm in Louisville I stop by, food is ALWAYS GOOD, I've learned to order ahead cause everything is prepared fresh, as it should be.. if people have issues with waiting for fresh food then go somewhere I else. I always do pickup before I get back on the road but I promise you try their food you won't be disappointed...

Me and my brother wanted some African food tonight, and we decided to try this place. We were met with a friendly faces and warm smiles. The ladies were more than happy to help with our choices from the menu. I am so glad they did. Our meals were absolutely delicious, and they gave us generous portions. I highly recommend this restaurant. The rice bread was awesome too!!!!

you will not find any African food better than what this restaurant serves. The food is fresh ALWAYS, flavorful ALWAYS, hot ALWAYS. If I could give them 10 stars I swear I would !!!

I was working in town for about two weeks. I wanted to try a taste of culture and diversity, and this place delivered exactly what my taste buds were bugging for.
