Rock Men

Pretty fascinating sculpture found on the river walk trail. Beautiful scenery. These Rockmen are 12 feet tall that are made up completely with boulders and held together by cement. Nice statues to check out if you are ever in Rockford, Illinois.

This is a MUST if you ever visit this beautiful city in northern Illinois. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In Rockford's heart, where rivers wind,
Stand guardians of ancient kind,
Sculpted figures, fierce and grand,
Carved by nature's gentle hand.

The Rock Guardians, steadfast, tall,
Echo tales from time's great hall.
Their silent watch, a vigil pure,
In granite form, their truths endure.

Through seasons' change, they face the sky,
Beneath the stars, they never shy.
Roots of earth, and skies above,
Guardians of a city's love.

In Rockford's midst, they proudly stand,
Silent sentries of the land.
Whispers of the ages past,
In their presence, shadows cast.

A tribute to the strength and grace,
Of nature's touch in this vast space.
In stone and spirit, firm they stay,
Guardians of Rockford, come what may.

This public art installation is actually very cool. Worth this stop to see. And a good place to have a picnic as well and a nice walk along the river.

Easy to find quirky statues on the side of the Rock River.
The two middle ones have a scaffolding pole up their butts to hold them up😎

It was nice and clean with a GREAT river view. There are benches to sit down and rest.

Its just 4 ordinary stone statues besude the river bank but was pretty unique

Sculptures were pretty cool and the park was amazing. Highly recommend this place for a nice stroll and pictures.

If you've never been there before and seen the guys whoever built him was super talented. Definitely got to take your family to see him take pictures

Now that they cut down the pine trees they look more AWESOME. And it's very peaceful to look out over the Rock River took my granddaughter Keima there for her birthday took pics we had been talking about visiting the guardians for awhile

Very cool installment in a free sculpture garden near the Nicholas conservatory. I made the stop during a long drive. While I really do like it, I wouldn't make a special stop to Rockford just to see them.

True warriors - Steadfast and strong. Also, very taut buttocks. Love running/biking past the Rock People (because let's face it, they can be anyone we want them to be - not just men).
