Amberwood Care Center

My best friend’s mom, who is like a 2nd mother to me, had to go somewhere for rehab. After visiting several of the other nursing homes in town, Amberwood was the choice the family ended up making. The staff was very friendly and she did amazing in physical therapy. The administration was helpful with all questions and took what was a stressful time and made it very easy. I’m grateful to the staff that took care of my “mom” and could not have been happier.

Working at Amberwood has given me a sense of pride that I think I lost a long time ago as a nurse, and came back two years ago because I realized Amberwood is the best! The management team works together with the floor staff and the therapists to give our patients the best quality care possible. Our annual survey showed just how good we are and the patients show our good work in everything they do. how well they heal and go home or how much they feel like a family when they're there long term. It's great to work in a family atmosphere!

I have been here for almost 5 weeks and my stay here has been amazing. Who would have thought that I would end up in Rehab and who would have thought I would have had a blast here?! But, I did! COMPLETELY AWESOME CARING SKILLED STAFF!! While the food isn't amazing, it is good and there is a lot of variety. :) They have to feed people with many different tastes and diet. I especially enjoyed the chili, the spaghetti, the hot cereal and the cake. All in all, my stay here has been a fun and happy experience. The PT staff cannot be beat! Thank you to ALL!!!

This is an awesome place I know first hand that the staff takes good care of the residents snd treats them like family. The administration is real easy to talk to and is very understanding. Not many facilities treat the residents this well. Amber wood is the place for your family if needed.

My cousin has been here for about 10 years , my mother in law got a room across the hall from him. It's funny because she knew my cousin long before I married her daughter. Anyway , they love it here. They have plenty of activities for the residents to enjoy. The food is good but not great and I don't need a job.....lol

I will be at Amberwood going on 3 years & I am happy to see all the wonderful improvements that have taken place. While working at the front desk, I get to hear all the wonderful comments from residents, guests, family members, etc... It brings a smile to my face when residents say we are their family or when former residents return to the facility just to visit, say hi or thank you. I can honestly say that the Amberwood team is one of the best group of people that I have worked with.

I worked at Amberwood for 10 months and I can honestly say that I love the residents, staff, and management there. The new owner Ken Ripstein is a kind-hearted man who comes by the facility on a regular basis and is invested in what goes on there. The CNA's and nurses do their best to treat our residents in the same way they would want their own loved ones to be treated. Not all family members are able to visit our residents as often as the residents would like so we, the staff, try to fill in that gap, showing them love and affection. The physical, occupational, and speech therapy program at Amberwood is excellent! They work with the residents to get them to their optimum function and mobility. Amberwood has a variety of recreational activities for the residents throughout each day with trips to local stores that are planned each week. Volunteer church groups have services throughout the week to meet the spiritual needs of our residents as well. I will always cherish the time I had at Amberwood Care Centre.

My best friend has been living here for five years and she has been loved and cared for like she was their family i can't thank them enough for her wonderful care the cna's are so loving and kind when it was her time to pass thank you so much

I’ve had multiple family members in this facility. My mother, brother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandmother-in-law, as well as two dear family friends. They all got great care. Amberwood ha repeatedly delivered quality care…the facility of choice for me and my family.

I have worked at Amberwood for 6 years. I have watched this building transform and become one of the best facilities Rockford and surrounding areas has to offer. We have caring staff that go above and beyond for our resident's and family members. Amberwood has great physicians and nurse practitioners to ensure the best possible medical practices are being followed.
