Bayview Bed & Breakfast

We had a family reunion this week at Bay View. They accommodated 22 people with ease. Kennedy and Rose were some of the best hostesses I’ve ever had! Kennedy stayed in contact throughout our booking and when we arrived. Rose made the most delicious breakfast, cookies and desserts! We became family!

The Bay View is a beautifully restored Inn. It has character and ambiance and soothes the soul. The front garden is a charmer as are the quaint and beautifully decorated rooms. This is definitely a gem on the Island!

This was our first time staying on the island. When we booked our stay Jason was very friendly and helpful to my family. Then we met Ms. Rose and the rest of the staff. Everyone showed us so much love and kindness. We had homemade breakfast every morning, cookies and drinks then our amazing evening dessert. Ms. Rose is the best hostess and cook we could ask for. We love all the staff as well. We definitely will be back. Looking forward to our next booking here at the Bayview. Thank you everyone!

This was our first time staying on the island and at Bayview and we would definitely return again! The location was amazing...only 5 minute walk from the ferry dock and the start of Main Street and it was right on the harbor so the view from our room was beautiful! There were lots of places to simply sit and relax...the front porch, the terrace on the 3rd floor, the sunroom. It was beautiful and peaceful to watch the sunrise from the terrace. Our room was charming and had a balcony facing the water, which was nice to sit and relax. The staff were very nice and welcoming! Special shout out to Kennedy, Rose, and Tamika - we had some dietary restrictions and they made sure to make separate meals for us to accommodate us and we appreciated that! The breakfast, afternoon cookies, and evening desserts were amazing and really made this place stand out! My mother forgot a piece of jewelry when we checked out and Kennedy quickly caught up with us as were walking to the ferry to return it...she could have left it but she took the time to do this! Thank you for giving us a great experience!

We are regulars on Mackinac Island and enjoy staying at various locations. The Bayview B&B is etched in our memories as one of our favorites after our stay this past weekend. The Suite was amazing with jacuzzi and stunning views of the water. Opening our door brought the very best smells of fresh coffee and breakfast in the morning and cookies in the afternoon. The evening dessert was so delicious! The staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. Truly a wonderful place to stay. Located next to the marina you are a very short walk from all that downtown has to offer or over to the quiet side of the island of Mission Point.
We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Top notch. We came to Mackinac by boat and wanted a night off the boat and out of the DNR bathrooms. This was perfect. We've stayed many different places on the Island. This is the first one where we've said we need to come back. Rose and her staff are fantastic. She takes pride in her work and wants guests to have a great experience. Best bang for your buck on Mackinac. (Anyone who complains about this place must not come to the Island very often). This place is a gem.

It’s our opinion that the Bay View’s biggest charm comes from Rose. As previous historical home owners, we appreciate the integrity of Bay View Inn. The executive suite we stayed in for 3 nights is just a few steps up (I use cane) from dining area. The room is clean, quiet, and offers fantastic views. Rose treats EVERYONE like family. She is the first person to greet you in the morning; and the last one to wish you a good nights rest. The breakfasts, coffee, snacks, and desserts done by Rose are top notch. If it’s your first time to Mackinaw Island, please tell Rose that we said, “Hello”. 😇

We revisited Bay View 30 years after our first visit. It's even nicer if that's possible. The staff is amazing. They were so friendly and accommodating . I have food allergies and a gluten intolerance and Rose and her staff prepared separate breakfast and desserts for me. So delicious! Thanks for the memories Bay View!

Couldn't have asked for a better B&B experience on our first visit to the island. The location is perfect - out of the fray of Main street, but only a short walk away...and right on the water with a private balcony overlooking the harbor. Our room was a little tighter than the typical chain hotel room, but met our needs for our 5 day stay. There are enough other places to hang out that you're not constrained to your room: covered front porch, back balcony, dining area (great for games), or the small lobby. The included breakfast and desserts are just right for starting and ending your day.

Fabulous stay, and it was made better by Rose! She ran a bag back to to the dock after the porter picked up the wrong one, brought back the right one, fetched extra pillows, made recommendations for dining and sightseeing, made the best desserts, and had plenty of hugs! The room was cozy, the bathroom large, plenty of hot water on demand, and being on the first floor meant no stairs. Bayview is THE place to stay on Mackinac Island.

I'm not sure we'll be able to stay anywhere else on the Island after the Bayview! Perfect location just far enough down Main Street to be a little quieter, but very easy access to downtown, the Fort, etc. The room was a little small, but clean comfortable, and impressively quiet; and with the front porch, dining room, and main living room, there was plenty of space to lounge. Perfect cool refuge in the heat of the afternoon and between adventures, plus Rosie's fantastic cookies and excellent desserts. Rose even taught me her cookie recipe, which was one of the most fun experiences ever! All in all, a wonderful place to stay for my first-ever trip to Mackinac Island.

My husband and I stayed last week. We thought the staff was very friendly and the front porch a very comfortable place to sit after being gone throughout the day. Breakfast, afternoon cookies and most definitely evening desserts were all tasty. Only regret we had was we didn’t extend our stay so I guess that means we’ll have to go back, which isn’t a bad thing.

This was our second trip to Mackinac Island, but our first stay at Bayview B&B. Bayview certainly didn't disappoint! We were in a standard room and it was very tastefully decorated, clean and extremely comfortable. The location was optimal and the front porch and surrounding area was beautifully landscaped with an array of colorful flowering plants. We enjoyed just sitting on the front porch and taking in all the activity around the inn. The rear deck was perfect for viewing the harbor. Rosie and the staff went out of their way to make our experience one to remember. Breakfast was exceptionally delicious, as well as the afternoon cookies and muffins, and the evening dessert was delectable! We look forward to our next visit to Mackinac Island and will definitely stay at Bayview on return visits.

The location was great. We loved our rooms, so quaint and cozy with a wonderful view. The nighttime dessert was delicious and such a nice treat. The breakfast room was just perfect and so was breakfast. We felt very special. All of the staff were courteous and made it a great experience. To top it off, we personal items behind and they shipped them home to us! We would never have known whete we had lost them. What a wonderful surprise to get that package in the mail. We will definitely return.

A bonus that a hot breakfast, afternoon cookies, and after dinner dessert are included in the room rate. The dining parlor is welcoming, and the staff go above and beyond friendly to accommodate dietary needs (My sister is vegan and made plain oatmeal and fruit just for her for breakfast).

The rooms are snug, as with many of the historical houses, and there is no elevator, so be prepared to climb. Beautiful view of the harbor. It rained the evening we were on the island and missed taking advantage of the second floor deck.

Would definitely book again!

If you are looking for a bed and breakfast on Mackinac Island… Bay View is the place! The staff are amazing and the rooms are cozy. I read through the very few negative comments on here, and those people must not understand what a bed and breakfast is. Or the charm of hotels on Mackinac Island in general. You will always have complainers, and they are those people. The Bay View is amazing and I will be coming back!!

Took my fiancé there her birthday. Kennedy and her team made my fiancé a cake, it was a flavor of her choice and it was to die for. I can't say enough great things about the staff there. An amazing experience and stay at the Bayview.
