Have been taking the family cars here for over 10 years since moving to Frederick area. We wouldn't trust anyone else with our repairs. Jake and his crew are honest, reliable, fast and reasonably priced. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trust worthy mechanic in the area!

Took my truck here as a last ditch effort hoping that they could identify and repair a mystery rattle and shake that 3 other repair shops could not figure out. I am pleased to report that not only did they figure out and fix what was wrong, they were able to get it back on the road the same day at an extremely fair price.

The SHOP Autowerx is an honest, attentive, and skilled repair shop. They have earned my future business.

We have taken both our cars here for some time now. No one more reliable and trustworthy. One of our cars is fairly older and we were told it needed over a $1,000 in repairs from another company in the area. We took it to Jake and he showed us where they were up charging us. Ended up costing way less to actually be fixed because Jake is honest and has a heart for serving people, not ripping them off.

I am a DIY change my own oil type of person so I don't take my families cars to the shop that often. But there are some jobs out of my league and this is the shop I will take my cars to for anything from wheel bearings to timing belt servers. Jake knows his stuff and is not the person to nickel and dime you on services you don’t need.

My Husband has been taking his car to Jake at The Shop Autowerx for years, so when we started dating we began taking my car to him as well. Fast forward two years, and now between myself; my husband; and my parents, Jake takes care of 6 of our cars - and we wouldn't trust them to anyone else.

Jake has never pushed an unnecessary service on us; his prices are incredibly fair (and the parts themselves are often far cheaper than you would find at a dealership). It's extremely refreshing to deal with a mechanic who is honest, and who you can trust to do the job they say they're going to (and do it correctly and in a timely manner), and not worry that maybe you didn't need 'this' service, or not know what 'that' service is being done. As long as Jake's shop is open, it's the only place we'll be taking our vehicles.

We take all three of our cars to Jake at The SHOP Autowerx, 2 BMW's and one Porsche, he's a great mechanic, he's honest and he's affordable. Jake does what's needed and does it well, he doesn't look to add on cost, and he knows German automobiles. My daughter brought in her Audi Q5 to have the brakes checked because they were squeaking, he checked it out and found that one of the brake pads had a defect, negotiated with the supplier to get replacements at cost even thought they were out of warranty, and made the repair at a cost that was a fraction of what a dealer would charge. The SHOP Autoworks might be a little out of the way but if you need a great honest mechanic then look at a 35 minute drive through beautiful countryside as an added bonus to get to a real gem of a craftsman, not just a mechanic, working on your cars.

When we moved to the area and asked around for a mechanic, Jake’s shop came highly recommended and for good reason. Excellent, honest work at a fair price without the stress of hard sales tagging along behind your oil change. I carry around his business cards in my wallet and send everyone his way now!

When asked why he loves what he does, his answer is simple, “I love helping people in a practical way.”

We found a screw in our tire and didn't want to risk driving around without getting it repaired. Not a lot of places are open on a Saturday and your company offered to repair it that same day. We knew this would be a quick fix, but other auto repair/tire install companies seemed like they couldn't be bothered. Thank you for your quick and professional service. We will definitely request your services in the future.

I have been coming to Jake and his shop for 3 years now. I have a 1986 VW Vanagon which most shops turn down for work in my area. I can honestly say there hasn't been a job that he wasn't able to tackle. He is honest with his work, he doesn't cut corners, and is fair with his prices. Like some other reviews have said. It is wayy out in the country. But consider it a bonus to be able to drive through those hilly roads with beautiful scenery to your destination. You will not be disappointed!

Took my daughters car to The SHOP and was very impressed with Jake, the work completed and the price. It's very hard to find an honest mechanic who does great work, but we found this in Jake and we will continue to have our cars worked on with him.

When you bring your vehicle here be prepared for a wonderful shock. Jake and his crew will solve whatever is wrong. But more importantly, they will work with you to prevent future repair headaches as well, which is, in my experience, unheard of these days of auto shops that would rather nickel and dime you to death than build real relationship with customers. In my case, Jake’s crew had the gumption to proactively prevent future problems related to a design flaw in my truck. Rather than lollygag around the shop after solving the original problem, Jake and his staff fixed the NEXT issue. And that can only happen with a staff that is extremely knowledgeable about the industry and committed to their customers.

A fantastic mechanic, and an amazing shop. Knowledgeable, helpful, and the only person I will let underneath the hood of my BMW if I have a choice. Before the BMW, I drove an Audi, and he did fantastic maintenance on that vehicle as well. I recommend this shop to my friends, and anyone who mentions they need a mechanic whom is in my general vicinity. Easily the best mechanic I have found, especially for European cars.

Owner here has been extremely understanding while my car sits and I scrounge money up for a new engine. They were able to diagnose the problem my car was having in a day after 3 other "performance" shops in the state failed over a year to diagnose properly. Not to mention the 4 other performance shops that wouldnt even look at the car. Guess if you don't have a Subaru or VW in MD you're out of luck. Super solid experience here so far. Wish I hadn't been fleeced by those other shops for around 6 grand before getting here. Then i would've had the new engine already.

Jake is my go to local mechanic and auto expert. He will always treat you right and give you a fair price on auto maintenance and repairs. For as long as I live in the Frederick area I’ll be a customer!

At The Shop, a young mother of two, on a sweltering day and balking minivan, can confidently tend to her little flock in a clean, cool waiting room, without the fear of a hefty markup looming as the Shop Team restores her chariot.

At The Shop, a weary, northern stranger (yours truly)—with an altenator that’s just seen too many years and road and decided to quit livin’—finds a car doctor that speaks in clear language, has handwriting you can read, and genuinely know how to heal (at least VWs)...wouldn’t you gladly pay? I did! There’s no substitute for a look in the eye, straight language, fair price, solid performance, and... wait for it!!! The HANDSHAKE! The true sealant of all things right in this world.

Both of these events are true and real... the characters are real people, like you. The Shop took excellent care of us, like they will you. You come in broken (at least your car does); you live whole (and your car fixed right)!

If Jesus were a mechanic, this is where he’d work. Since He only fixes souls, we’re left with great mechanics like the MEN* at The Shop Autowerx.

* I don’t know if they have any female mechanics there, so I’m operating on an assumption, here ;-)

The SHOP is great! Always helpful and friendly. Not only do we take our TDI Jetta and V8 Touareg, but they service my Nissan Sentra as well. They are very knowledgeable and we would not take our cars anywhere else!

I went to get my tires changed and in the process they noticed I needed new brakes also. They managed to get everything done in just one day. They're a good honest shop that I highly recommend!

100% happy with The Shop. Got me in next day and fast repair. Even went the extra mile on the repair. Price was reasonable as well. Highly recommend.
