Best place I’ve ever had the opportunity to work. My co-workers and staff are like family and are truly here to help children and families.

The staff was very caring

I took my son to make an appointment since I was informed I had to come and pay $95.00 to set an appointment and not able to pay over the phone and set the appointment. I work an hour away and their hours make it hard for me to get there and my son is in school and sports so difficult for the both of us to find a time to go together JUST to schedule an appointment. So we found time on a Friday to go and do it first thing in the morning so he wouldn't miss much of school. Went at 8:30 as this is when they open. NO ONE there, no lights on, no one answering phone.........until after 10:00. I then called the following week to see if they would be in at 8:30 the next day and was told to give her till 9:00. What?! Your hours say 8:30 (on their door, website, voicemail, etc.) Unreal. If we didn't HAVE to get this done I would def not be going at all. Hopefully the rest of the experience gets better.

At first the case worker was great. Then all of a sudden she didn't want to be contacted on the weekends. She started getting snotty with me on the phone! To me she ended up being a 1 sided case worker. She believed the child's mother, which was terrible to me cause the mother is a horrible person as well. I dont have any confidence in the case worker my granddaughter had. I wouldn't recommend LSS to anyone.

Pamela Miley and her Supervisor Chris Hawes at Lutheran Social Service of Illinois were biased in their practice. I have to be honest in my review. They were beyond political and unethical. I spent time and paid a lot of money to go through their process and was then written a poor excuse for denial. Letter attached.
What actually happened was Pamela informed me that her Supervisor was afraid that I was using their service to assist in adopting my granddaughter. The measures that Lutheran Social Services of Illinois took to try to leave no trail of communication was incredibly insane.
Denying my application leave communities at a disadvantage. Lutheran Social Service’s pure determination to discourage me made for a nightmare experience.

Lutheran Social Services of Winnebago County is crooked and has falsified information!!! Any and all paperwork of the babies ever being here have been deleted & no files exist!! It was like they were never here!! You can't tell me there wasn't any bribes or money involved because just look where the babies are now!! No place that knows the history of these people would place innocent children w/ them knowing the circumstances & the kind of people they are!! They have always bragged about all the money they had and could use it to get anything they wanted..including the grandbabies..well they succeeded & all the evidence of them being here is gone!! I hope this post gets shared many times over and the media gets ahold of it!! I have all the paperwork to prove corruption..btw The corrupt caseworker name was Heather Stark & her sidekicks Kim & Lori..mysteriously they are gone now

This place is one of the biggest jokes I have ever been demanded to be apart to. From the misinformation, dragged out cases, false hopes and constant lies to the constant neglect of the child's mental heath.....this place is Nothing but a money dump that does nothing to actually help the children.
