Big Hopp's Southern Eatery

I did not personally have any food from there but I work for doordash they recognized me as soon as I walked in the door. They were very busy so I would imagine the food was very good. I imagine I will probably eat there very soon! Their service was fast and courteous!

On point. Food was grrrreat! Tables need to be cleaned but it's no big deal...I went in the restroom got a soapy wet towel and cleaned my table myself. All good jack!

Visited a few days ago. Got a fried porkchop meal with green beans and Mac n cheese. Porkchop was seasoned to perfection and it was fried fresh. Green beans were seasoned with the right amount of seasoning. Nothing was too salty. My porkchop was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My mom saw Goodall's food reviews from YouTube and decided to come in and try it. The people are kind and work hard to make their customers happy, and the owner is very kind as well. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

One of those places where you just sit and you know it will be good. I went there craving some fried chicken after some bourbon tasting and it was perfect. It's really affordable but they still make the effort of making everything by hand and you can taste it.

I’ve eaten at a lot of places but this has to be one of my favorite. The greens, the catfish, and the fried mushrooms are beautifully cooked down to the cornbread! highly recommend a stop in Shively for your favorite home-cooked meal.. big hopp’s doesn’t disappoint.

I had baked chicken, greens, sweet potatoes, corn bread, and some grape kool aid. ON POINT! Everything was very delicious and the young ladies in the front were very kind and respectful. I will definitely come here again when I am craving some good soul food!! It hit the spot and then some

Rolled by looking for some authentic, southern cooking, and goodness gracious, we were not disappointed! The food was delectable, the service was friendly, and Big Hopp himself came out to check on us and make sure everything was good, before the religious experience I had with the EXCEPTIONAL banana pudding. Highly recommend you check this place out.

Thank you Big Hopp for the warm welcome and the amazingly delicious and savory food! The fried chicken was the best we have tasted, and we have eaten a lot of fried chicken. I thought I didn’t have room for the banana pudding, but it was worth every bite!

When I say the owner can cook,my my my,he can throw down. Myfavorite place for soul food. I enjoy the spaghetti, catfish, fried chicken and on Sundays he sells his baked chicken dinner with dressing. Prices are reasonable. You will not be disappointed. Before moving to Louisville KY, I would drive from Indianapolis just for the spaghetti and fried chicken.. OMG!!

Clean, great food, wonderful staff and the prices was super reasonable. From the beginning to the end my experience it was a very nice. Can't wait to go back.

Everything here is excellent! The service, food and prices are unmatched! A soul food place with soul being served up from the kitchen.

Found this awesome place on Goodall's YouTube review, and had to try it out. Green beans are amazing, Catfish and Spaghetti dinner was to die for, Mac n Cheese is amazing as well. So I'm just going to have to say that everything they make is Amazing😍🤩 we will definitely be going back

In the ville there are many spots to hit up and taste. But this joint right ear, BUSSIN! from the corn bread to that smothered pork chops and baked chicken with the hot sauce over that Mac n cheese, mmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmm! You gots to give this spot a try. Staff was mad cool and friendly. They also got a A rating…IJS. Shout out to the staff.

This place is absolutely amazing. We live in Middletown and attended a visitation in the area so we googled places to eat nearby. What a gem we found!! We had fried chicken, jerk chicken, country fried steak. All delicious. Sides of greens, green beans, Mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole. Fried green tomatoes we so good!! We love supporting our local businesses. The staff was so friendly and the boss came out and thanked us for dining! If you want down home cooking and down home people this is the place to go.

Love love love Big Hopps. Everything on the menu is delicious. Whether you are doing dine in or carry out you won't be disappointed.
Some of my favorites are of course the fried chicken, not to be underestimated by the baked chicken which is equally delicious, the sweet potatoes and the greens.

Best southern soul food around! Great service! They make you feel like family!
