Home Sweet Home Museum

Excellent visit. The tour was great. The house has preserved many items. It was fascinating to see 18th-century dishes and the home's decor. The female guide was very pleasant and told us about many other places to visit in the city. Highly recommend this museum to everyone.

Fabulous! We literally were on our way walking after getting our coffees to Main Beach and admired the building, garden and windmill... and then daughter saw how it was open and so we stopped in. The Docent was fabulous! Greeted us immediately and took us on the tour of the house and the belongings and furnishings and explained really well the history behind Payne and Buerk... well done! Glad that we stopped in and got to view a historical home!

Very beautiful garden and cute house that has been turned into a museum. All rooms with the many collectibles can be visited. A very nice guide told us a little about the story of the house.

It's beautiful. I love the preserved history on Long Island.

I went to visit it a month ago but it was closed. Still from the outside looks beautiful

Well, I never got to see the inside of this museum because there was nobody to be found inside when I visited (maybe they were on a bathroom break--very strange), but the outside of the building, the windmill behind it and the church next-door all make for some nice photographs, so you should stop by while you are out here (the beach will wait).

Closed during open posted hours. Kind of a bummer
