Meriwether's Retreat Bed and Breakfast

We highly recommend the Meriwether's Retreat bed and breakfast. This was our second stay while visiting Hohenwald, TN. This time we stayed in the second floor suite which was huge. We loved the decorations and the history of the restored house. The room was so comfortable and had a beautiful sitting area for us to have our own private breakfast. The food was delicious and healthy! The owner is awesome and very communicative.The price is so reasonable for all that you get - we can't say enough good things about this place!

My wife and I have traveled to many parts of the world, from our home in NY to different parts of Africa, Asia and the U.S. With all honesty, one of the most carefully appointed and comfortable places we laid our heads was this wonderful B&B in Hohenwald, TN! Melissa, our host, was so much fun to talk to and share our travel interests with. The upstairs suite in which we stayed was just gorgeous - it was immaculately clean and well furnished, and each morning, Melissa left us with a FEAST for breakfast. If you’re ever passing through, make sure you stay here. It’s an oasis away from home.

If you're in the Hohenwald, TN area and want a wonderful place to stay, you won't find a better Bed and Breakfast than Meriweather 's Retreat! That's exactly what it is! A charming retreat! Melissa is the most thoughtful innkeeper and goes out of her way to make sure you are taken care of. The hostess is a real hoot with stories to tell. Her knack for decorating is superb and love of animals evident

Our second time staying here as we had business in the area, and Melissa came through on both visits; Very fair rate, really nice do it yourself breakfast with lovely options (quiche, yogurt, bagels, fruit….,nice room and simply an inviting place with no pretentious thrown in. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable beds. Very well done bath facilities as well as a sitting area, additional single bed, beautifully decorated with original & restored antique furniture & photos.

The provided food is 100% FANTASTIC.

The B&B is a recently remolded 1900s Arts and Crafts home. The town of Hohenwald was founded by Swiss and German immigrants. Host/owner Melissa has decorated the downstairs entry and guest kitchen as a Swiss farm house. She has thought of a lot of nice touches throughout her B&B starting with fresh made brownies upon check in. We had the “history” room which was the entire second floor including a sitting and private breakfast area along with a large bedroom and bath. Breakfast is very creative with Melissa providing a variety of self serve options in your mini-refrigerator including quiche, fresh bagels, yogurt with homemade granola, and more.
