If you are a business owner and you deposit more $5525.00, they will not honor your deposit or give you access to those funds for 10 days. Upon opening my business account, I wrote a personal check from my personal account to help fund my business account. The next day, I called my bank to make sure that they had sent the funds to BB&T. My bank told me that BB&T had received the funds the next business day. However, BB&T told me that while they had the funds from my personal account, my business account wouldn't be able to access those funds for over a week. Initially, they claimed that this happened only because it was a new account. However, when I made a second deposit and the same thing happened-- immediate access to $200 and the rest of the deposit would maybe be available in 7-10 days-- they then pointed me to the account agreement where it said that all deposits over $5525.00 would have a holding period of 7-10 days. I totally understand that is their policy, I just want to warn any business owner that this bank is not interested in deposits and will treat you terribly when you question the policy.
