Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast

We, and our elderly Maltese, stayed in the Rio Vista room last night. First, the room was amazing. It had everything we could possibly want fridge (perfect for keeping our pup’s food fresh), coffeepot, etc, in addition to a sandy, leafy patio that our little dog could use. The views were fantastic and just watching the waterfall in the pool was so soothing. Since this room is ground level, it was even better. Our little dog had to go out several times during the night (we tried to be as quiet as possible) which made this room even better. Then, the breakfast this morning was absolutely delicious and perfect for us…eggs, toast, fruit, avocado, juice, cheese, tomatoes, and coffee and tea. I had asked for the romance package and we came back from a fabulous dinner in the Enchanted Forest, to a room strewn with rose petals, chilled champagne, chocolates, and a delicious chocolate, caramel cake. It was beautiful and delicious. This B&B filled our hearts desires and really deserves a 10 star rating. Thank you, Bella Vista, for such an amazing night.

The views are breathtaking and the location is both nice and quiet. A lovely basket was delivered to the bedroom door for breakfast. We enjoyed it on our balcony while watching the lovely peacock strut about.

The beauty of Bella Vista is evident both inside and out. There is a bedroom with a large window overlooking the pool with a view if the hills as far as the eye can see, (this is the room where I'm going to stay next time).

If you need a charming and tranquil escape, this place should be on your list.

My wife and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary last week. Everything was excellent!

From the honeymoon suite, to the pool, yummy breakfast, the great service and easy check in, cozy chair on the deck outside our room, did I mention the amazing view! Check out the peacock roaming around the pond near the relaxing hammock.

We would love to go back. We are not wealthy folks and we did save for our anniversary trip and this place is worth their fee.

We will keep looking out for a yummy deal next time.

If you go, you will not be disappointed and you will have a wonderful relaxing experience!

FYI, give them at least 2 or 3 hours notice for the poolside jacuzzi!

The location is great and it is close to White Water Rafting on the American River. 10 minute drive for our half day trip. It’s 20 minutes to Placerville art galleries, craft stores, antique shops, coffee, etc. There are amazing farms and other exploring close by.

If you are local to El Dorado County & need a great place for a staycation with your spouse, I highly recommend this place. The grounds are immaculate & so quaint. The view looking over the river & rolling hills is beautiful. You get some sunset & a sunrise.
The room was clean & we loved all the little touches from the towel warmer, to the toiletries, the cookies, & the breakfast brought right to our door was an amazing touch. Food was delicious as well.
The owners communication was spot on & we felt so welcome.
The jacuzzi huge tub & massive shower were an added bonus. We felt luxurious only 15 mins from our home.

We had a great stay, two nights and three days - excellent service, delicious breakfast, and the owners go out of their way to make everything go smoothly and perfectly! The weather was beautiful, the pool was warm, the hot tub was perfect, and the view of the river was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend this place for a beautiful getaway or a casual girls’ weekend, as well as for weddings and special occasions!

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and had a wonderful experience. The room (Monte Vista) was amazing with fun decorations, and had a great view of the valley below and surrounding foothills. We sat out on the deck in the day and at night to enjoy the scenery. Kathleen was very nice, turning on the hot tub when we came back after an afternoon hike at the nearby Gerle Loop trail. She also responded quickly to a couple of requests for the room. We didn't get to explore the grounds much as we were out each day, but they looked beautiful. We did enjoy the hot tub and I even swam in the very chilly pool (would be great in the heat of summer). The breakfast was very good as well, with a nice variety both days.

The property is off the beaten path but there are several wineries and a brewery to explore in the area, and several short hikes as well. There is also the Marshall Gold Discovey State Park nearby. The food and entertainment choices in Coloma are limited, but we had great tacos at Gorilla Rock tacos and enjoyed live music at Marco's. There are lots of other food choices in Placerville. We also visited the Community Obvervatory one night, which is a hidden gem in the area for something different. Check their website for hours and events.

We will definitely be back to Bella Vista in the future!

Well for starters, Kathleen, the owner is so incredibly helpful! My parents and brother recommend we stay here based on their experience with her alone. The house is mind blowing in how beautiful the architecture and decorating were done. Each room has a little bit of a theme. We stayed in The Monte Vista Suite which is the entire upstairs of the house. The room is cosy, the furniture is exceptional, and the bed is comfortable. There is an extra bedroom and a legit secret room in this one suite. No bed and breakfast is complete without a superb home cooked morning meal, and Kathleen's French toast changed my life. The pool and hot tub are naturally shaped to feel like a beach, complete with sand (seriously, check out pictures on their website). The place is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and only takes about an hour to get there from Sacramento. Stunningly beautiful views over a valley with the American River running through it. 10/10 will return.

Absolutely an IMMACULATE room, BREATHTAKING views from the room. The Innkeepers Kathleen & Bob Ash are phenomenal people.
Was in Placerville for a wedding this weekend & our reservations at Best Western Plus was messed up with now no available rooms.
Mrs. Kathleen, did have one cancelation for her Bella Vista room, told us the price, knew it was quite pricey for just one night & then proceeded to help us find a cheaper room at other hotels first. With no luck I called her back & she booked us immediately.
Due to COVID restrictions, we had all our info to our room taped to the front door as the main common room was closed.
From the room, to the accommodations for us, to phenomenal service & the most perfect breakfast.
They made a rough situation turn into a night I couldn't forget.
I couldn't get over how much detail they have put into the room. My descriptions & pictures can not do this place justice. If you think my pictures are beautiful, they are just a taste of the real thing.
Need a getaway, something different check out this RARE Gem hidden in the hills of this historic town.

Bella Vista is a beautiful place to relax , enjoy the awesome views and hospitality! A wonderful beach area with a pool with a waterfall and spa! We were also able to use the barbecue located by a covered deck. To top it all off we enjoyed having smores around the fire pit. 5 stars to owners Bob and Kathleen Ash! I highly recommend Bella V

Beautiful inn managed by beautiful people. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and fun. The view is magnificent. This business is very generous to the community.

We stayed here to have a little getaway. The room was beautiful and that is an understatement. Breakfast was brought to us and that also was delicious. Nearby are plenty of winery’s to try and apple hill! About 20 minutes away but worth the drive. Kathleen was so helpful and even gave her number for if we had any problems.

I have stayed at Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast several times. The inn is beautiful with awesome views of the Coloma valley and the American river. Innkeeper, Kathleen and her husband Bob are so welcoming and very knowledgeable of the area. The breakfasts were delicious! I would recommend Bella Vista.

It was my wife's and I first time at a bed and breakfast. We had a wonderful time, Talk about a very positive experience. Very clean and the customer service was on point every time. We enjoyed Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast, Inc. very much. I recommend this as a place to get away from everyday life, jump in the pool and enjoy the gorgeous views!

I surprised my wife to this lovely retreat on her birthday last weekend and I can tell you that Bella Vista and it's friendly and helpful owners exceeded my expectations and made our stay a truly beautiful and memorable experience. Even the short drive from Hwy 50 through California's most magnificent and historic gold rush was heavenly. I highly recommend Bella Vista to anyone reading this. Get away from the routine, go to Bella Vista you'll be pampered.

One of the best B&Bs I've ever been to so far! We stayed in a very luxurious room with a breath taking view of the hills! Due to COVID there was no physical contact with anyone, we just found a paper within an ✉ which was left for us on the front door. We followed the guide past a backyard beachy, sand area which had a fire pit as well as a pool and a hot tub! We did have communication with the housekeeper through text if we needed anything during our stay (we did a weekend getaway for my birthday.) The first night we added the smores package, which we got the supplies to get a fire going in the fire pit and enjoyed some tasty smores then got into the hot tube for an hour before we settle in for the rest of the night ☺ Woke up to breakfast served @ 9 left on our outside table. It had rained so it was damp outside, so we enjoyed breakfast in bed both mornings 🥰 Definitely took advantage of the large bathroom shower/jacuzzi tub, there was a towel warmer included! Highly recommended for a luxurious weekend in Placerville, we really enjoyed our stay! Got the complete rest and relaxation 😌

My fiance and I spent part of our honeymoon. It was an amazing experience. We had a lot of fun. The owners were very nice and brought are breakfast out to us on the balcony so that we can enjoy the beautiful scenery

My wife and I travel to Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast from Northern Nevada several times per year. We love this place. It is the only place we consistently visit when returning to California. It is our home away from home. We highly recommend!

Tucked away between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe in the gold hills. A lovely B&B that we will be coming back to. My wife loved the room with the hidden library, they are very caring and nice 😊 can’t recommend enough
