Gam Saan Trail

Nice trail that leads to aggression beautiful view. The trail can be slippery on the way down if you are not careful. Lots of switchbacks and mostly uphill. Lots of poison oak though so stay on the path!

A fun hike to the Marshall Monument and the Marshall Gold Discovery Site. It's mostly uphill with switchbacks, but it's great exercise!!!

Only opened in Feb. 2022, so it’s a brand new, well-graded woodsy switchback-fest up the ridge from the lot by Lotus’s sports field straight up to the Monroe ridge trail. Continue either way on that trail and you make it down to the Marshall Gold Discovery site. Very easy hiking and trail-running, and, at the top, Monroe Ridge is a treat, with a somewhat open grassy swath dotted with oaks and toyon running along its length, and peek-a-boo views of the American river, it’s canyon and the surrounding hills. Nice to have more routes and mileage here, since the existing trail network is fairly small.

It's a quick 25-30 minute hike to the top, with a nice view of Coloma. It's right next to the baseball fields, so a nice break from watching a day of baseball and a good way to help kids burn some energy. At the top of the hill, it connects to another trail if you want to keep going.

Beautiful trail and great, short little workout! It's only about a mile up-hill, but it is steep in parts and zig-zags. I brought my 10-month old in a hiking stroller and there were a few portions of the trail that were a little sketchy, so it might be a bit much if you have little ones. The views are gorgeous, and the late-afternoon light cutting through the trees is beautiful. Our local flora and fauna here in El Dorado County are always such gifts.

Across from firehouse road is definitely not the entrance. There is a road with a no trespassing sign. If there is a trail around here, there is no sign of one
