City Market

Only grocery store in town. My family and I have been shopping here since 2007. Never had but good experiences here! Bring your own shopping bags to carry out your favorite foods or merchandise. Twenty-Five cents for each brown paper bag. So come prepared.

A decent grocery store with a good selection and fair prices. It's a bit cramped, so it feels crowded. Sign up for rewards with the store if you expect to get any of the "sale" prices marked on the shelves.

Amazing how much they had to put out, great bunch of folks doing just that.
I wanted some produce that hadn't been unloaded and 2 folks went thru a whole load to find for me.

Excellent options for vegetarians/vegans! The "health foods" were mingled in with regular foods generally but I was able to find plenty to keep me well-fed during my visit to Breckenridge. They even had Beyond Meat burgers! (hiding with the regular beef burgers) and Daiya-based frozen pizzas. Highly recommended.

Great little grocery store with everything you'll need for your stay in Breckenridge! Great location with it being right across from the gondola and the bus center.

Great small market. Fresh produce and a good selection of almost everything.

Typical city market. Super busy at peak times but generally well resourced and organized.

Very busy yet easy to navigate. Pleased to find it is part of Kroger, so my hometown discount works for the store and fuel center.

A very helpful employee helped me find the electrolyte replacement product. She walked me to the front of the store. I appreciate her kindness.

This store is amazing, stays open until 11AM, and opens early, the workers here do incredible work for us that keep this county alive. This store has finally started updating the Asian section with new, more niche items that are competing with Pacific Ocean in Denver, and I really, really appreciate that demographic appeal to people like me.

Most if not all the negative reviews are from tourists who have never lived in this town or have experienced small town life where ports and aircraft don't land everyday to deliver new inventory, where millions of people are available for staffing, and where everything goes perfectly their way everyday. The store used to be stocked full, before millions started flooding this town. Remember, Summit County's infrastructure was made for 30K people at most, we have millions annually raiding our stores, roads, and more. So take it easy on the entitlement, since the problem was catalyzed by a chunk of visitors.

The staff here are friendly, amazing, dedicated people. I love seeing them here and there around town and catching up on livelihoods here.

Mike is absolutely amazing, he’s so nice, whatever he is getting paid it’s not enough cause i’ve never had one bad experience with him helping me.

They made the cake for my wedding. I was blown away at how beautiful the cake looked and how good it was. Countless guests said it was the best cake they have ever had! Very happy with my purchase and recommend this place to anyone!

Was pleasantly surprised to find that this store had the same sales/prices as King Soopers in Colorado Springs. They could get away with charging a lot more, but they don't. If this store were in a big city, I wouldn't give it 5 stars, but most towns the size of Breck wouldn't have a store that offered this selection at these prices.

Lovely staff who are very willing to go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. Their selection is pretty decent- meaning unless you're looking for something super specific, they're bound to have it.

Great selection for the weekend traveler. They have small portions / small packages for things you normally wouldn't buy full size while on vacation (for example, they sell sticks of butter individually and have an 89 cent package containing 10 trash bags). Prices are reasonable if you have their discount / shopping card. It's worth the 30 seconds it takes to fill out the form and get a card. Bring your own bags or be ready to pay 10 cents per bag.

Re-write of previous review: Pharmacy for your family and well-stocked aisles for whatever ails ya. Next - the actual grocery store is always supplied for your vacation plans. Their produce is quite good, meats, deli, breads, dairy and quick trip foods - it's all there. The staff are willing to help you find your stuff and mostly, they know exactly where your item is located. They have 6 self-check out stations and several more staffed cashier stations. You may be in a line for at most 5 minutes. Come get your stuff and enjoy yourself!

First time shopping here as a tourist, Peter my man really helped me out finding several items and then ended up bagging my things as well, a true tetris master. Went from a regular store experience to excellent. Thanks, Peter! (He can probably name the check out cashier lady as well, she was very personable and kind)

While you will find what you need here I implore you to follow a few key rules:

Only send one or two of your party to do the shopping (this small store gets PACKED).
Bring your own bags (the county wants 25¢ per bag)!
Don’t buy 10 of one item (small store in a small mountain town and the locals want eggs too).

The service may not be too-notch but please be kind and remember that it’s hard enough to live here on a GOOD salary. These guys just want to go to work, get paid, then go skiing just like you!!

Just left and have to leave a shout-out to Pat! I just had surgery and was scooting around the store in a mobility scooter. Pat was working the checkout line and was not only incredibly kind and helpful, but I found his personality noteworthy AND contagious! He was smiling, cracking jokes, and sharing his overall happy spirit with me and the other people in line. I left with the biggest smile on my face. Pat, thank you so much for turning my day around. Truly, thank you for being you.

Great grocery! Like most newbies in Breck, we rolled in and needed supplies, but had no clue where to go. I’m glad we stumbled on City Market!

Quick story: it was our wedding anniversary and I was hoping to find a cute little bouquet for my wife. The floral section at City Market had just the thing, and because it had been on the shelf a while, the friendly manager marked it WAY down to help me out. A nice little flower arrangement in a bud vase, just the thing to brighten up a tiny lodge room.

We have been back to the Market almost every day, and have found good things each time. I hadn’t expected this level of grocery quality in a mountain resort town. 👍
