South Side Walnut Cafe

Brunch isn't my favorite (blasphemy, I know), so I'm always excited when I find a place I really like.

My husband and I shared:
- Bhakati Chai
- Spikey's Golden Milk
- Pesto Quesadilla
- Big Dipper with Strawberry Banana and Icing
- Housemade Sweet Roll
- Banana Jubilee

Starting with the drinks, the Bhakati Chai was amazing. I hate when chai is all sugar and no spice and this one has a lot of spice.

Between the entrees, I think the Big Dipper was my favorite which is surprising because I don't usually go for a sweet breakfast. The combination of pancake and French toast was unique and delicious. I love that they encourage customization because I wanted to combine the options on the menu. The pesto quesadilla was also fantastic though, so just get both.

The sweet roll was good, but I prefer my cinnamon rolls to be gooier. The Banana Jubilee was delicious, but it was sadly a special that day, so I'm not sure when it will be on the menu again.

It was so busy when we got there that I was surprised we only had a 15 minute wait (around 9:30 on a Saturday). I'd definitely go back again!

A cute and cozy breakfast spot with a great variety of options. Some of their dishes lean rather sweet, but they have a lot of savory options as well. Delicious coffee drinks too.

Quesadillas & Cubano full of flavor. Delicious golden milk & Walnutty latte. Loved the vibe. Most of the people were chill.

We had breakfast here a few Saturdays ago and had a nice time! I was surprised that there was no line to get in; we were seated immediately. Our server was very nice, and the menu had a good variety of options. I ended up having the sunrise sandwich, which was probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a while. The other food ordered by the rest of the party - French toast and some sides - was also good! Overall, and pleasant and tasty experience!

This is a special place for me and my husband because we came here for breakfast really early on in our relationship. The food is great, tons of options, and the service is usually pretty darn good too. Good work ladies!

I've taken my younger toddler here for breakfast a few times and had a great experience each time. The staff were extremely friendly and gave my son a lot of attention! They gave us toys to play with and were so kind. The food is great, too!

South Side Walnut Cafe is consistently delicious with great service! Their lattes are the BEST, my favorites are the Boulder and Walnutty. I've had numerous dishes but always go back to the Eggs Marcos, it's SO good! Highly recommend the blueberry cornbread and breakfast potatoes too. You can't go wrong at South Side.

Very reliable and friendly local eatery with great breakfast and lots of gluten free options. Have eaten here for years, always leave happy - recommended!

Have had breakfast here a few times, and the staff is always efficient and attentative.
Lots of gluten free options, I also have a soy intolerance.
Our most recent server, Makayla, made sure to check everything I was interested in for soy, and even let me read the ingredients listed on one of the drink products. They also made sure the kitchen used olive oil to cook my food.
Breakfast portions are quite large too!

This is such a great breakfast place with delicious coffee and breakfast options. Lovely service and options to sit outside as well. Yummy is all I’m sayn.

Always delightful, I've lived in Boulder 19 years and walnut cafe (north or south) is what I expect to find in heaven :) gluten free friendly too!!

Very good. South Boulder is my favorite part of the city and the restaurant fits in well. No wait even though it was busy. Good quality, good service. The blueberry cornbread was a stand out!

came in a week ago it was absolutely wonderful! nice people great food! i had a veggie omelette and it was not greasy which is hard to find

We sat outside for breakfast. The omelets and.spicy pumpkin pancakes were to die for! If I am back in town this is a must stop!

Basically a diner with major Boulder vibes. I love diners and I love Boulder, so it’s a win win for me. I always bring anyone who’s visiting me (an East Coast transplant like so many) from out of town here for breakfast/brunch because it’s reliably delicious, the atmosphere is really fun, and the staff is so friendly and chill; you know you’re not on the east coast (where my visitors hail from) anymore when you step into this cafe. The coffee is awesome too. I especially love the Boulder latte. Service is consistently good to excellent, mostly depending on how busy they are. I think they tend to be a tad short staffed at busy times but I’m not going to knock them for that; the wait staff 100% do their absolute best at all times, and that’s all I will ever ask for.

This place is just so wonderful! Will be back. Don’t look over the specials - I enjoyed it today and will certainly be back again. Karen rules, chais are awesome, 12/20 can’t wait to return. Thank you for having us!

Not only was the food delicious, but the service was wonderful! Jodi greeted us and sat and talked to us a bit, which was the perfect way to get to know the feel of the people and restaurant as a whole. We highly recommend the pesto quesadilla and the Big Dill!!

A staple in Boulder. Great breakfast options, reasonable priced good service. My only complaint is their hours. Wish they we open for dinner.

Love 💖💖💖 this place, great creative sandwiches and other dishes. Great music 🎶🎶🎶 a helpful food servers. Great place for a relaxing meal. Boulder Strong 💖💖💖 I had the Denver omelet, which comes with two sides. I choose fresh fruit and potatoes 😋😃😋 But there are many other dishes including the most amazing cinnamon rolls 😋😁😁😁😋

As a guy that is allergic to wheat, Gluten Free dining is a must. So, when I find places that have a decent GF menu, I want to shout about them from a mountain top. South Side Walnut Cafe (and the original Walnut Cafe) is indeed worthy of a shout out! Lucky for me, I can climb up the Flatirons right after breakfast to do so... Delicious gluten free options are abundant. My favorite still (after going there for over 10 years) is the GF Buttermilk Pancake. Huge and deliciousness on a plate. Pair it up with a spicy Sherpa Chai, and look out world, here you come. Dominate that hike or bike.
