1855 Coffee House

This is a quaint little coffee house right on the square in McKenzie. Parking is a bit of a struggle because you have to park on either side of the street. If you're not a fan of parallel parking, you might be in a bind. Luckily, I didn't have to go that route, I snagged a spot right at the top of the street. The aesthetic and atmosphere were cute. Very small with only a handful of seating choices, but it wasn't crowded. I think this is more of a grab and go type establishment. They had many unique packaged coffees, pastries, and other items for sale, as well as Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey Coffee. Unfortunately, I forgot to purchase a bag on my way out. I stopped in for a quick lunch, and as I am not a major coffee at lunch drinker, I opted for a sweetened ice tea instead. My lunch partner said the iced coffee was delicious. I had a turkey sandwich that was very good and fresh. Will certainly stop back in the next time I am in the area.

First time here, & definitely not the last time. Staff were kind, welcoming, & thanked us for our business. Food was superb! You'd be surprised how difficult it was to choose from a small menu - Every dish looked amazing & each very different - There's something for everyone. Fresh ingredients (& locally sourced).
The Vault is so unique & holds goods of local artists for sale. I couldn't leave without a pair of earrings :) Will definitely be back!

I love this little coffee shop! I stop in about once a week and the atmosphere is always lovely, the coffee is delicious and hot, and service is great. I love The Vault with local items for sale. There’s always something new and interesting to discover and I love the support of other local makers and businesses in the area. It’s a fun local spot I plan to patronize for years to come. ❤

Decided to stop for lunch before a show at APT. This is our second visit and each trip has been a treat. We started with a delicious cinnamon roll. I also ordered a berry smoothie and a white cheddar & ham sandwich. The sandwich was excellent, great combination of flavors. The smoothie was good, no complaints, but I like my smoothies with a little more sweetness. The staff was super friendly and the food was out quickly. Overall I give the Coffee House two thumbs up and we are looking forward to our third visit.

Stopped in for a mocha. Staff were friendly and she made a great drink. But the place itself is an old, charming site to see. There is an old vault you can step into and shop a variety of local items. I wish I had more time there to sit and enjoy the cafe.

I stopped in for a quick bite and a coffee while in the area and am so happy I did! I chatted with the owner, who was a pleasure, and really enjoyed the building itself. They left some of the features of the old bank that was there which is a neat touch. The mocha was great, and the bagel I had was absolutely delicious. I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops and this one is special!

Had the Turkey Slaw on gluten-free bread, was DELICIOUS! Wonderful location for a relaxing lunch with a cozy coffee shop feel. Loved everything, from the friendly greeting, clean facilities, menu options, fast service, and DELICIOUS food. 10 stars.

Absolutely the best place to get coffee and get work done! The monthly specials are always amazing, but once they sell out they are gone! 10/10 recommended!

Wonderful spot to grab coffee or a bite to eat in downtown Mazo. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and very good food! We had the white cheddar and ham sandwich and the BLT, both of which we're excellent! Looking forward to the next time we are passing through to stop again and try some of their beverages. Highly recommend!

Lovely new coffee spot in a remodeled bank. The old bank vault even has local goods for sale!

Great WiFi, Great music, and a great ambiance. Everything you need in your local coffee shop to meet with friends or knock out a few solid hours of work.

A lovely oasis in the downtown center of the town of Mazomanie, WI. The 1855 Coffee House is a completely renovated bank bldg from the turn of the century. Pick from lattes, mochas, drips, Capps, etc, and fresh bakery! Take your kids and check out the MASSIVE bank safe door. Antiques and communal seating, too.

Love this place so much!! The coffee is delicious and the food is so fresh and yummy! The White Cheddar & Ham sandwich has sliced apples in it - the combination of sweetness and crunch is perfection!

Super cute Cafe that left most of the bank elements in place (you even get to walk through the gorgeous vault door)!

If it’s busy, be patient, it’s worth the wait. Try the chocolate chip brioche. Mmmm!

What a great addition to our little town! Very friendly with a great atmosphere. Perfect for getting together with friends or setting up in the back room and working. Drinks and food are delicious. Michelle has done a great job bringing this coffee shop to life!

Michelle is friendly and makes a point of calling people by their names. Prices are fine and coffee is wonderful. A friend of mine always gets the Classic Egg Sandwich and loves it. This coffee house is very comfortable.

The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the oat milk latte was good. I would return.

Love the small menu! The 1855 Breakfast Sandwich was phenomenal. I also had a delicious morning bun today and it was the perfect size and fresh as can be. Haven't tried the coffee yet but 100% recommend the breakfast! My friend has tried the avocado toast and raved about it. Note to owner: Maybe you can offer sausage patties for the breakfast in the future. I love a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich!

EDIT: I tried the coffee and I LOVE IT - Iced caramel latte! Cannot go wrong.

Great sandwiches! This is a really pretty place and everything tastes just as great! The staff was kind, but did ring my family up for the wrong order multiple times. Easy error and no big deal. However, they also sent us home with the incorrect muffin and nearly over charged us a couple times too. It's a new place, so I'm sure it's just a learning curve and I will likely be coming again!
