Sidecar Coffee Shop

Just walked in the door maybe 20 minutes ago. I ordered the bacon and cheddar quiche, and a honey oat milk latte. Both of the items were so classic and simple, and amazing. The quiche reminded me of something I’d eat at my aunt Emmy’s house (amazing cook), and the latte was literally perfect (honey oat milk). The perfect temperature, just the right amount of honey (which also tastes like a local high quality honey), and the espresso is smooth. I was having a rough morning, and as soon as I took the first sip of the latte, everything got better. I rode my motorcycle up from Cedar Rapids to work and get some wind therapy, and now I have to bring my wife back. Wonderful place, wonderful people. I’ll be here for another couple hours eating and drinking along the way, so I’ll post an update later!

Whenever I'm visiting Waterloo I make a point of stopping and getting a sidecar seasonal latte and I buy some of their espresso beans to take home. Today I tried the Dolly Parton latte which was cherry cake batter and it was lovely. Delicious and I love supporting this small business.

We stopped here while on a road trip. The optimist is a blackberry mocha and it is SO good! The employees were super kind as well. We will definitely stop here again next time!

Cute little stop. This place is unique, cute atmosphere and a good view of the street. It’s Quiet enough to study here and to have a nice conversation. They have lots of choices but a few things like sizes are a little odd. Which is normal for a smaller coffee shop. Our coffees were great and came out drinking temp.

Dropped in quality, I’ve lived here long enough, and have been even longer aficionado of cappuccinos, to know I used to have a better cappuccino in sidecar than what I had today.

Hard to tell though, was it;

1. The person who made it for me?
2. The espresso machine?
3 poor training (No training!!!) ?

Idk but not happy in giving them 3 stars for average. A little too hot too, THAT can very much be controlled and dialed in.

Oh my gosh night and day improvement on the cappuccino 🥳👏👏👏 I mean it. It’s so lovely!!! Refer to my short video. Oh my gosh, you can’t do audio on Google reviews? All right here’s my wall text besides the obvious the latte art was on point I had already drank a sip of it so you know I kind a messed up with it but beyond that the micro foam on the steamed milk! awesome! the taste of the espresso with the milk? great!! two thumbs up!

THAT. Is worth going back to more often!

Excellent service, coffee, and food. One of the many surprises for my work trip from AZ. I also bought the Kick-start espresso whole bean to enjoy at home and it was delicious. Tons of Crema!

I stopped here on a quick road trip today. What a great surprise! The staff was super friendly and they clearly put a lot of thought and work into their coffee. I ordered an iced latte that I believe was called a Jessica Rabbit. The menu said something about carrot and turmeric flavors which I like but often when turmeric is used in coffee there's too much powder left at the bottom of the cup. Clearly they're doing something special here because that wasn't the case at all with this drink and the flavors were very subtle and not overpowering. Some of the team members were also in the back rolling out dough for homemade quiche. The fact that they're making all of this themselves rather than buying things prepackaged says a lot about how much effort they're putting in to not be just another coffee shop. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Oh, and the monster cookie was awesome!

The cafe is stylish and clean, baristas are quality people with skills to pay the bills, and the white chocolate mocha I ordered was completely delicious! Neither too sweet, nor too bitter. This was the best cafe experience I've had in a while, and I definitely want more.

They have the absolute best honey lattes and spinach tomato quiche! I've tried most of their other drinks and food offerings and they're really good so I highly recommend this place for your caffeine fix and breakfast!

It was already windy and cold and then it decided to rain on us as well. Great location and the interior is just as amazing as the coffee. I've been living in Germany for almost a decade now and nothing compares to a homemade monster-cookie which we watched being made from our table. I hope to make it back here again soon.

This place is such a gem. Their chocolate chip scones - served warm! are outstanding. I've never had such a good one. And their iced drinks are always on point, too. Highly recommend!

I got an iced latte with mocha, lemon zest and honey and oh my word it was so tasty. The food looked great although I didn’t have any and the staff was very friendly would definitely go back.

So the place has nice staff but sizing is very strange. Who has ever heard of only selling a medium size for tea. It’s time for people to stop treating us tea drinkers as second class citizens. Not everyone likes the bitter taste of coffee. Some of us are civilized and prefer tea. Sell larger sizes of this drink and treat us all fairly. Otherwise this is a nice place and I’d visit again

Great relaxing atmosphere with updated decor and plenty of space. The drinks and food have always been top tier. I come here when I know I need a good start to my morning and I can even bring a laptop and work a bit without feeling guilty for taking up space inside. I highly recommend this cafe.

Great place for a small meeting. Quiet, clean, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks are good and the prices aren't too high.

It was a cold foggy day in early March as I passed through the town of Waterloo, coffee was on my mind but not my tongue. I scoured Google to seek out the reviews and ratings that guide my life's greatest decisions. Sidecar coffee appeared to be the place that the all-knowing Google guided me to.

After driving around the building once to find the entrance I entered into the comforting aroma and atmosphere. After placing my order and using the cleanest restroom my coffee appeared.

And it was good.

The caramel latte with cinnamon was like a warm hug from your Grandma on christmas morning. If a recliner and blanket by the fire was a drink this is it.

Take this as a sign that Google is guiding you there.

Now go.

Great place. Clean and tidy decor. Staff friendly and helpful (to folks that don't know all the types of coffee).
I had the optimist... chocolate and blackberry latte... delicious..highly recommend if you like a sweet tasty start to the day.

These guys are awesome. I have never had a bad experience at Sidecar. You can expect consistent, tasty products that anybody with a sweet tooth or pallet for coffee can appreciate. They've got something for people coming from places like Starbucks who enjoy their coffee with a little extra sugar/milk and something for the hardcore coffee veterans who want their coffee black, dark, with nothing in it.

If you want quality service and fantastic coffee. This is the place.

So, so, good! Their coffee is excellent and served in large portions. Their blackberry mocha got the "wow" expression from each of our group that tried it. A drink I have never had elsewhere. Their breakfast sandwiches are made in house -melt in your mouth! I didn't get to have the quiche but did watch the cook prepare it. Modern, sleek atmosphere. This is a must stop in the morning!
