The Davis General

Spontaneously stopped for lunch and was so pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches we got were a great value. Loaded with great ingredients and great flavor. Service was not only very kind but also genuine. It seems everywhere you go now, customer service is centered around earning (or expecting) a tip, but the girls working were so sweet and helpful, and when the time came to tip, she swiped the option away without hesitation. It made me feel like the kindness we experienced here was just the genuine standard of how they treat customers, not seeking something more. I gladly asked her to go back so I could tip her as I was so impressed by the service we received. The atmosphere was quaint and comfortable. Kitschy enough to feel more like a date than a quick lunch stop but casual enough to not feel put on! Very happy we gave this place a try. Hope we’re in the area again soon to patron again.

Nice country store with all the charm. The food and the people were great. I had a turkey melt on sourdough called the Taylor that was huge and tasted great. I topped it off with a fresh cinnamon roll that was awesome. Thanks for the great lunch I will be back!

We stopped for a couple lunch sandwiches on a weekday. The food and service was too notch. We would eat there again if we travel back another time.

Great spot just outside of Leipers Fork. Biscuits and cinnamon buns go quickly. Rueben was by far the best I’ve had around Nashville. Pancakes were also great with crispy edges. Can’t wait to go back.

This place has some of the best sandwiches you'll find literally anywhere. Everything is made on a big griddle right in front of you. The staff are so friendly. Lots of good candy and soda choices that you can't find pretty much anywhere around. Highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese toaster.

Don't hesitate to stop in!! Just happened to pull over check it out, very friendly and hard working. The food is awesome, see the picture below. 4 of us got different sandwiches and everyone loved it.

Excellent food, the people are amazing. A great spot to stop at on a bike or car while cruising the Natchez trace! Highly recommend!!

The hospitality & hand made fresh grilled sandwiches make The Davis General a destination or even a great waypoint on your weekend drives. The scenic area had fantastic twisty roads for cyclists, motorcycles, or sports cars, so getting there is an adventure in itself. Many sunny weekends you'll find yourself among supercars & their friendly owners while you're eating lunch at the outside picnic tables.
My wife had the fried bologna & cheese and I had the Cuban sandwich. Both were excellent and worth ordering often.

Put this on your places to eat. Nothing bad about this place. An old country store with great sandwiches. The food was very fresh and the bread was toasted just right. "IF" I had to complain about something it would be that the sandwiches don't come with any sides. I just bought a bag of chips and the problem was solved.

The Reuben is the bomb! Best gosh darn sandwich I’ve had in a long long time. So good. It’s so worth the drive wherever you’re driving from. I also recommend picking up an RC in a glass bottle. It’s like time stood still for a moment. You really don’t want to leave. It’s like being a kid again. Oh my gosh, could it get any better than this? Nope. I could sit here for hours. It’s such a beautiful, quiet, peaceful area. They have plenty of outdoor seating in the front or back. Parking is on both sides of the building. It’s a bit like stepping in the past where food was simple and absolutely delicious. Big time welcoming hometown atmosphere. Definitely go. Now!

Greeted by all staff with a smile and the fried bologna sandwich was best I ever had. Very talented cooks here! So glad I finally stopped in while out on a drive. Will definitely be back!

I wanted to share these pictures of this very awesome and delicious salad. I must say, Mr. Greg Lenox can really show out on this perfectly prepared salad. And at a very fair price. Although, salads are not on our menu, they will be freshly prepared upon request. Believe me, it is very tasty and made from the heart. Thanks Mr Greg for the wonderfully prepared salad. It was Very delicious! I truly love everything and everyone at Davis General!!!!

Very nice country store. I was pleased to meet the friendly staff and the sandwich I got was absolutely delicious! Will be back again when I’m traveling through the area.

Hands down one of the best places in the Williamson county area for a sandwich and cinnamon roll! Everyone in there is so kind and welcoming. Idk what they do… but the sure do something special because the food is off the charts!

It was recommended at the Leipers Fork Distillery. Rib-sticking sandwiches. We were very happy.

Great little general store that just reopened. They make fresh sandwiches both hot and cold. The interior is all redone and very nice. The young lady working the register was very kind to our cycling group. We will definitely make this a frequent stop.

Great family owned place, we stumbled upon this location by accident. We did a motorcycle ride for falling fire fighter Mitchell Earwood, Spring Hill, Tennessee. There's almost nothing open in Leipers Fork Monday & Tuesday (except realtors office & Props Antique shop- great shop, btw).
There's a gas station store just out of town- and about 4 miles further is Davis General Store. What a find! The food is great, portions big. I should have asked for a doggie bag- but I couldn't stop eating!! Turkey melt- to die for, cheese steak incredible (daughter's choice) and Reuben outstanding (husband's favorite). He & I went back today for omelettes....sigh....80)....
We were stuffed, but split a cinnamon roll anyway- to die for. Three people came in for rolls while we were waiting.

We drove from Nashville, we were not disappointed at all.
We had the two egg breakfast, delicious.
You must get a cinnamon roll, fabulous.
