Lulu's (Round Top)

WOW - What a great little place! Took the kids to Round Top for a walk this morning and ended up at Lulu's before 10a or so. Setting is in an older building that has a lot of neat features. The wife took a tour of it while I babysat. We ordered coffee and scones (a side of bacon for the pups). Wife had a cappuccino, mine was just a black coffee - fantastic: coffee's were perfect and the sugared scone was served with whipped butter and a berry jam - just great. The Chef then brought us a type of country breakfast with 2 of the most perfectly coddled, free-range eggs along with seasoned small potatoes, a lightly tossed arugula salad and perfectly cooked smoked bacon. Absolutely everything was on point. The maître d', the hostess, and the chef were very friendly and professional which added to the experience. They were all very accommodating to the pups, bringing them waters and checking to make sure everybody was enjoying. EVERYTHING about this place and its staff was a professional and class act, and the food, while simple in its approach, hit the ball out of the park. If you're not coming here when you get the chance, you're just cheating yourself.

Great place. Beautiful interior. Exceptional bar. Delicious dishes . I tried the spaghetti and meatballs, and I recommend it. Parking can be an issue if you dine during the antique shows. So enjoy the antiques and walk over to enjoy this amazing place. The staff is top-notch. Your date would like a Lady Cello for an absolute fantastic drink. Try it with Belvedere.. you will regret not trying this place..

Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars. My partner and I have spent both our anniversaries at lulus first at the one in Houston and the 2nd here in round top. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this was the original. What a great time. Everyone was so kind. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere and decor are absolutely beautiful. The building was originally built in the 1800s and if you are lucky enough to have dinner in the cellar you will see the original bones. It's beautiful. The thought that goes into this place is beyond great. Thank you to our host, waitress, and Annette for making our anniversary extra special

We had the best time there last night on our girl’s trip! Nathan went above and beyond as our server even though he was also the bartender for the section. We all agreed he was one of the best servers we have ever had and even asked to “talk to a manager” to tell him. :) The food was delicious- a round top flair on Italian! We will definitely be back. We recommend the Lobster Risotto and the Lulu’s cocktail!

Wonderful food, vintage aesthetic and welcoming people! This is the second time we've done our anniversary with them, once in Houston and then again here. They are so nice and the food is always on point. The wine list is good and it's not going to break your wallet to get a little fancy.

In Round Top there are not many places to eat on Wednesdays. So, we went to Lulu's for an early (5:30 PM) dinner and we're glad we did. It was 102° outside, under the subdued lighting in the bar at Lulu's it was cool and comfortable and we were the crowd. We had the bar to ourselves. The young bartender was local, articulate and fun to talk to, the atmosphere was great and the food was good: we had the bucatini all'amatriciano and the braised beef short ribs and a couple glasses of very decent wine. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Nathan took care of us and we had the best dining experience! He was super polite, professional and informative when making menu selections. I’d highly recommend and make sure to sit in Nathan’s section!

Our party of 5 arrived on Sunday on July 4th weekend without a booking for brunch and due to the tropical hurricane storm we got lucky, restaurant was pretty quiet. Beautiful restaurant, friendly manager. I loved my parpadelle Bolognese, my husband loved the wagu bone in ribeye steak, my friend loved her lobster roll and my son enjoyed his chicken and waffles. Sensational food all round. We also found out that they have a hotel attached, we'll be back for sure. What a gem.❤

We had a wonderful dinner while visiting Round Top, TX for the antique show. Easily made reservations online and enjoyed the apps and entrees. We had the calamari that had a sweet and spicy sauce accompanied by fried jalapeños. We got the burrata and roasted beets, very refreshing combination. Everyone was thrilled with their entrees the lamb perfectly cooked, the lobster ravioli overflowing with additional lobster, and the tenderloin seared to perfection.

Recommend the tables in the former wine cellar. There is also a bar. The restaurant is attached to the hotel with the name. Service was wonderful.

Love this restaurant! The food, service and atmosphere is perfection! A definite must for great Italian in Round Top.

I was there with some girlfriends yesterday. I had Nathan for my server and hands down one of the best service experiences ever! The food was amazing and rack of lamb was exceptionally good! will be back and always recommend everyone I know to ask for NATHAN at Lulu s !!

The food was wonderful! We ate there twice in the five days that we were in Round Top. Service was very good and all of our party seemed to enjoy their meals. Can’t comment on the dessert because we were too full to eat anything else.

Not a place you’d expect in the middle of nowhere Texas. Such a fun, unique look and vibe. Great good, great service, delicious drinks.

We had an awesome dinner on Saturday - the bread appetizer was yummy with another appetizer to dip it in. I ordered the cacio y pepe with chicken and it was some of the best and juiciest chicken I’ve ever eaten! My friend got the pappardelle bolognese yum! We had espresso martinis which were excellent, as well. Great service and great vibe.

Absolutely amazing experience at Lulu’s over Mother’s Day Weekend. Our server Nathan ensured that everything was perfect, made the best martinis we’ve ever had and provided amazing service! We will most definitely be back!

Beautiful place!! Loved the decor. Service and food was good.

We shared a nice brunch on Sunday at 11am. Had a reservation at 1230p but arrived when they opened and were seated right away. Service was easy going and not rushed. Enjoyed a lovely large Aperol Spritz and an espresso before diving in to our lovely brunch plates. Enjoyed the Tortilla Espanol and the Almost American Breakfast with the farm fresh eggs and a super flavorful squash caponata. Very nice restaurant. Bright and fresh.

Absolutely a must every time my friends and I come to round top!!! Delicious!!!!!! …. AND i left an envelope with my cash on the table last night. The staff turned it in and made sure I got it back. WONDERFUL food and even better staff. We love Lulus!!!!! Thank you!!!!

We loved it. Half-filled, yet respectfully quiet. Wedding party (straight out of Yellowstone) escorted to back event room set the scene perfectly.

Ambience (5 star)....romantic, rustic, spotless, linen tablecloths. I half expected the waitress to brush our table between dishes.

Food (4 star): black angus tenderloin cooked perfect for her; my appetizer Burrata (beets) a first for me and not quite what I expected. Pizza (not clay oven). I think their food is probably a 5-star, but I happened to choose ones that were 4s.

Service (>5 star): attentive, prompt, always watching if you needed anything. Wine sommelier, maybe?

Value (5 star): a little expensive, especially the wine, but memories are priceless.

elegant classy. amazing chef. the menu is small , keeping choices varied. You just can’t order dishes that are not fabulous. A hidden gem. We drive 45 mins to the country just for this experience.
