Charcoal Delights

Classic Chicago food (gyros, hot dogs, Italian beef, burgers, chicken, breakfast items) in a comfortable atmosphere with great service. When it's not too busy, they bring your order to the table, and even check on you later! Prices have gone up, like everywhere these days, but are still reasonable.

Food is excellent! Staff is friendly and the owner comes around to make sure everything is good. This is my go to spot when I need a good quick bite. They have drive through too

Went there to support a local school fundraiser and received great friendly service, tasty food and at a price less than McDonalds charges for their fast food which didn't come close to Charcoal Delights! I'll be back.

Huge menu, low prices and tastes great. Went there with a group of 12 today and they were timely with getting us all our food and drinks. Looking forward to coming back. AND great desserts too!!

The food was excellent! Homemade tziziki sauce was sooo refreshing! The owner was super friendly! Worth the long drive in rush hour! Had the broccoli soup and was delicious! Can't wait to come try some other foods they serve! Had gyro sandwich today. Pita was so soft! My group thanks you for the ice cream too! Perfect ending for our meal on this warm sunny day! The ribs, burgers, and chicken my group had looked so juicy and tasty!

100000% recommend!! The best Italian beef of my life!! So much better than portillos for sure !! I loved the seasoning and flavor of the dipped food !! The service there is also amazing ! Everyone seemed happy to work there too (:

A tasty fast food joint. I had the Italian sausage with fries and a drink. The sausage and fries were a bit over done, but it was the lunch rush so was probably my timing. The places smells lightly of wood chips and charcoal from the grill behind the counter, which really adds to the ambiance. The staff were polite and very helpful. I'll definitely go back and try more.

Excellent burgers! I was a little surprised to see that my cheeseburger was cooked over charcoal. It made for a great texture and flavor. They offer a lot of different foods - I also recommend the rice pudding with coconut.

This place is delicious! I believe the owners name is Mr. Gus. Love love love the gyros, pizza puff, french fries and the cream of chicken soup! Thank you Charcoal Delights in Des Plaines. The inside of the restaurant has such a welcoming atmosphere I’m not sure how else to describe it. All employees here are very hard working and friendly.

First time I've ever been to Charcoal Delights. Cozy little place. It was very clean and the staff was really nice. One of the best gyros I've had in the suburbs and really good fries. The fried chicken looked awesome. Gonna have to go back to try it. Also, big sign in the window advertising that military gets a discount. I applaud this place for their support of the military.👍

I probably go here way less than I should, but the food here is great! Burgers are tasty, gyros and chicken shish kabob sandwiches are great, and the fries look very generic but the Greeks manage to make them taste awesome. A gem to me, second to the Works, sadly. Sorry CD
