Nutter's Ice Cream

A little out of the way, but a great find!! The portions are enormous! The place is a little museum of odds and ends and the woman who served us was quite a character. Very friendly.
There are lots of flavors to chose from, and I’m not kidding on the huge portions. Worth every calorie.
There is a clean restroom and the ice cream parlor is accessible. No tables inside, it’s order and carry out. Street parking.

Going to Nutter's is like taking a step back in time. The staff is very friendly and heavy handed on the scoops! This is the best value ice cream in the area. I highly recommend always stopping in for a scoop or two after hiking the near by Appalachian trail, Washington monument, or after exploring the nearby Crystal Grottoes Caverns. Don't forget to BRING CASH as this is a cash only operation! (tip, there is an ATM across the street)

Nutters is old school. Great staff. Very friendly. The ice cream was awesome. Lots of flavors to choose from with cups, cones, and toppings. Very yummy.

We came in with a crowd of 9 (mostly kids) and they didn't bat an eye. They were super friendly and got everyone sorted out quickly. I highly recommend the Peppermint Stick and the Rainbow was equally recommended by the kids.

If you're passing through Shatlrpsburg and looking for a sweet treat, don't sleep on Nutters.

Heaping scoops, sundaes, and of course malted milk shakes.

Do remember though it is a CASH ONLY establishment.

Ok... Imagine standing in line for 45 minutes in 90 degree weather. That part sucks. But then imagine an slushy... With soft serve ice cream... With more slushy and then. Yes... MORE soft serve ice cream... Now imagine that it only costs 2 bucks and some change.

That's a winner right there. Holy smokes waiting in line was worth it. Wow. Super good is all I can say.

Waiting in that line was so worth it, and everyone knows it. They just wait... And wait... Then the yummy gets in your tummy. Would definitely wait in that line again.

Nutter's is a special place, it's like going back in time the moment you step in.

The cheapest and best ice cream I have ever had. Get a small because they give huge portions. I only paid $2.50. Great customer service. This is a must stop by if you ever visit Antietem Battle Field. Parking is across the street.

I know this place very well because I lived for years 30 minutes away. The Nutter's Ice Cream has an excellent selection of about 20 different choices of ice creams and many toppings. But the most amazing thing is that if you order a KIDDY size you will get a huge cup of ice cream! AND be ready for this! It costs so little like a dollar plus that people come in busses to get their ice cream. There is a line outside because it is super tasty and super cheap! I don't know how they make the profit. These ladies are amazing who sells the ice cream! Must try!

Cash only, folks! Great value for the money you pay. Generous portions of super yummy ice cream. The pic I took is their small banana split...hahaha! We take our ice cream home because the portion sizes are so big that they give us multiple evenings of dessert!

Love love this place. We go weekly. Sometimes a line but it's worth it ...you meet so many friendly people. Still great value. Best ever

Nutter's is the best. My family and I have been going there for years. It's well worth the drive from Martinsburg, WV.

Such a good deal for the money. Huge portion sizes. Lines waiting out the door but everyone in a good mood. Fabulous counter help. Very close shop with small old fashioned door. Not a handicapped facility! On street parking in quaint downtown area. An experience.

Great Ice Cream. They always are very friendly and helpful there. The prices are very reasonable. Even with covid going on they are still open. Wear your mask and expect to stand in line out side. Only 6 people can be inside at a time. If you have never been there you need to go. There portions are big and the prices are low. We REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LIKE this place.

Old fashion ice cream parlor that made me feel as though I had gone back in time. Great selection of wonderful flavors and super friendly service. It does get a little crowded and you may not always be able to find a seat inside but is always well worth the wait.

Just awesome for a sunny summer weather. Very affordable too. The wait line could be long top...so plan to arrive early. I think they are open 2pm to 8pm. All payments must be done in cash...NO credit/debit cards. No indoor sitting too...but lots of friendly streets around and nearby parking lot to sit and relax on your ice cream.
