Really flavorful salsa. I had the chicken mole enchiladas and my husband had the shredded beef bowl a la carte. Both were really good. When we came in it looked like we had to walk up and order but that was only for take out. The server was friendly and our food came in a timely manner. The restaurant was sparkling clean.

Really good food in an unassuming strip of small stores. Had breakfast chiliques with chicken and eggs. Chips were great with the sauce. It’s really big tho, could feed 2 people. Husband had the enchiladas and a chicken taco. Before I looked up it was all gone. He loved it. A lot of people calling in and picking up for to go. Coming back ASAP.

Incredible wholesome food. Clean environment with a well taken care of bathroom. If you’re looking for big potions with legitimate Mexican food—this is the place.

Had the taco soup. It was delicious. The place was packed. Service was a little slow. But based on the amount of people in there it Was not very long.

Hidden Gem in south San Jose. Don't let the outside scare you. The interior is clen, fresh and cheerful. The recipes are delicious and the portions are huuuggge! We liked it more than some other local Mexican restaurants and reccomend giving it a try.

We knew the food was going to be delicious when we tried the salsa that they give you with the chips!! Great food and great customer service.

Dona Maria is just an awesome neighborhood restaurant. We have come there for years and have never been disappointed in any food or service! Really cool to have such a place in the neighborhood!!

Great little Mexican spot! I stopped here for breakfast and ordered the veggie veggie burrito but asked for it in a bowl (without tortilla) and with black beans on the side. The food was great, the ingredients seemed very fresh, and the house salsa was AMAZING. Service was quick. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

A long way from home, A good taqueria on my mind. Fortunately Google showed me Dona Maria, and I was right down the street. Great menu, plenty of delicious options. The friendly prompt service was appreciated. I was served 3 different salsas, one with the chips, and red and green salsa in squirt bottles(love that). The burrito was very good, the salsas made it even better. The hard work of the proprietor shows: great menu, delicious food, clean and pleasant atmosphere,clean working restroom (love that too). In future whenever we are anywhere close, we will be coming back to Dona Maria.

We have been regulars to this place since their Santa Clara location next to the Central library closed. They have a big menu with any choices. The food always tastes amazing and, more importantly, it tastes the same everytime. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. We have brought family and friends. And they also love it! As many places in the bay area they are short staffed, but the servers try to do their best, so please be patient and compassionate. Your reward will be the great food they have.

I have finally found the BEST tasting homemade Menudo man it's amazing great but the best way to eat it would be at night before bedtime it works wonders thank you

The food is always plentiful, and the service was good as always.

Great food and plenty of it. Really tasty salsa and the refried beans were the best I've ever had, the rice was tasty if a bit dry. The shrimp burrito had huge shrimp needed more pico de Gallo, but it was tasty. Beef taco and enchiladas were very good really tasty enchilada sauce. Fresh avocado on all too.

I have celiac disease and safely ate their bowl with carne asada. The meat portion was very generous. Even more important though is that I had no autoimmune response from gluten exposure, not even by cross contamination. I will gladly return.
