Cake Bloom

We tried the cake sampler and ordered a two-tier lemon cake for our wedding as part of the garden package. We were looking for a small cake to cut during our reception that reflected our garden theme and this cake was perfect. The cake itself was delicious (we requested one modification--add a berry element--and they easily incorporated it). Cake bloom is an absolute must!! Ordered the seasonal cake "Strawberry Belle" for my sister's baby shower and there were no crumbs left. If I could leave a 10 star review I totally would! Cannot wait to try more flavors!! Really friendly and helpful staff, so easy to work with.

I ordered a small vanilla cake for my son's first birthday. It was the perfect size and it was delicious! Perfectly moist and full of flavor. I would definitely recommend using Cake Bloom for special events. I can't wait to come back and try other cake flavors.

A sweet little shop on w main street. The cake is delicious and hard to top. The whole cake pictured was a hit for the holidays, and you can't go wrong with the slice options. Be sure to take advantage of the seasonal flavors that rotate monthly. This is also a fun experience for the littles who can come in and have a slice and milk flight. The bubble pairings for the adults have always blended well with the cake flavors. Fun stuff happens, so check the calendars for special tea opportunities and other events.

My fiancé and I had the 6 sampler cakes delivered to us, we received our order very fast as they do over night shipping. All cakes were very good and tasted fresh. Our two favorites were the Strawberry Belle and Lady Grey.

Cute little shop with the most delicious cakes (the lemon in particular was incredible) and great bubbly pairings. Favorite cakes were the lemon, floral funfetti and the carrot!

Great local spot in downtown cville 🌸 Both cozy & crisp aesthetic. The blue lemon tea (shown in video) was very cool. French press coffee was better than expected! Cake was delicious but slices were smaller than anticipated, $6.25 per slice.
They offer other food options and several drink options.
We met one of the owners, Elizabeth, and she was very friendly and attentive to our group

Came here from Richmond for afternoon tea with a girlfriend and it was well worth the drive. They only do afternoon tea on specific weekends but this experience has prompted me to find a date to return to try their cake and wine pairings. The tea snacks were so delightful and I especially loved this experimental grasshopper tart that is not currently on their menu but I hope will be added after today. The service was friendly and the space itself is so lovely with great natural light and a cute shop at the entrance. Highly recommend this place. Wish it was closer to Richmond.

My planner Sarah Fay Waller, a Charlottesville native, recommended Cake Bloom to my family and I for my June 2023 Wedding. Our first tasting was so fun, and we all unanimously agreed on the carrot cake. It was divine. Our wedding cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious. We were eating last pieces on the way to the airport to fly back home to California and my family took the rest home and enjoyed it well after our wedding! We ordered our wedding cake from cake bloom, the process was very simple. We had the most delightful tasting in their shop! The staff was very attentive and the ambience was lovely and so comfortable. If you’re in Charlottesville, you should definitely book tea here.

Driving thru C’ville en route to home in NC. A baker by avocation only, I am always intrigued and impressed by cakes and tarts.I like to see what local bakers offer to their community. A friend had recommended that I find my way to Cake Bloom.
Stopping in to Cake Bloom was WAY beyond “did not disappoint”. Their cakes are absolute individual works of arts, including right down to picking their own edible flowers and herbs to dry, press, and place atop cakes (and even in one specific batter) for a few of their custom cakes. GLORIOUS!! Utterly worth the stop!! A jewel in the heart of Charlottesville. What you see on the website is only a small portion of the baked delights that the two owners (sisters) offer. I pre-ordered the Garden Cake for my NC neighbor (turning 40) who has recently become interested in growing herbs and flowers (and a few vegetables, including carrots). I selected the “carrot cake” batter for my Garden Cake, which is available in several flavors, and TRUST ME, was every bit as beautiful in person as its website photo. It fact, it was downright stunning!
(I do wish I had had time to enjoy lunch in the lovely store, replete with baked lovelies and attractive household items. Next time!)

My NC friend has nothing she “needs” and I find her challenging to buy for. She was completely and utterly blown away when she opened the cake box— she kept it to the side until the kids were in bed and she could have her own slice, unhurried. She was so blown away with the taste that she shot off a text of thanks, saying it “was the fluffiest and lightest carrot cake” she has ever had in her life and sent several photos with her text. No better homerun than that!!

Cake Bloom blew us away with their unique flavors and gorgeous cake design. We went with the Floral Funfetti flavor for our wedding cake and our guests were freaking out about how amazing it was! The cake design itself also came out absolutely gorgeous. Susan and her team were a pleasure to work with. I know we will be going back to Cake Bloom for years to come!

Wow!! Two girlfriends and I were looking for something fun to do in Charlottesville and came across this gem of a place. We opted for the signature cakes sampler with the champagne pairings and all I have to say is… try it for yourself- you will not regret it! Everything from the initial phone call (in which I’ve had many many questions) to the actual booking went smoothly. The staff members were also very friendly and explained all of the cakes and champagnes to us in great detail. The cakes were absolutely delicious and we loved the idea of a cake pairing with champagne… something we have never done before. I would highly recommend cake bloom to others!

We loved working with cake bloom! We wanted a small, two-tier cake for us to cut during our wedding reception. We chose another dessert option to serve to our guests vs. serving cake. We purchased their five-slice sampler (each one was delicious!) to make the decision of our cake flavors. We are not local, so they were flexible and waited until we were in town about a month before the wedding to pick up the samples and make our decision. The cake was exactly what we were wanting and the floral additions were beautiful. We definitely recommend Cake Bloom if you’re looking for a small cake for your wedding or event.

Wonderful warm and smiling-friendly service. I found this lovely business on Tik-Tok from Memphis, TN and I’m so delighted to have gone to the business in person. It was such a pleasure meeting the owners and hearing their story in person. Also I must mention of course the delicious cake my daughter and I enjoy. This will be my cake place and tea and wine spot in Charlottesville, Virginia. Do yourself a favor and eat cake at Cake Bloom.

Susan+team made our amazing wedding cake! Not only was it delicious (both to us and as reported by all of our guests) but it was incredibly beautiful. Leading up to the event, they were very communicative--making sure the design and logistics were ready to go. They arrived on time, and made sure to do flower and cake topper placement before leaving! We can't wait to go back to Charlottesville to taste some more of their goodies!

Hands down the best cake you can get in cville. I've had the 5 slice sampler many times and it never disappoints, there are always new fun flavors, although lemon will always have my heart. Just waiting to make up another excuse for why I need to go get this cake

Such a treat! We ordered the Signature Cake & Bubbles Pairing. Heavenly , melt-in-your mouth cake flavors beautifully presented. Our favorite flavor was lemon. We’ll be back!

I love cakebloom! Aside from having the best cakes, the staff are so welcoming, Verna was exceptionally warm. I am an indecisive person and she helped me choose a drink. The ambiance is also amazing. Definitely going to be my go-to.

The taste of the desserts is matched by the beauty and creativity. Simply elegant and delicious.

The shortbread "cookie board" comes with 3 flavors of dips. Today we had lemon curd, salted caramel and blackberry. Delicious.

The chocolate cake was also wonderful, subtle not sugary.
