This is a nice, small town, type of gun shop. Dennis Van Tassel is a very experienced gunsmith, who is much in demand. His wife, Mary, is a friendly Irish lass who is very knowledgeable and ready to answer any and all questions. They have a nice selection of new and used firearms. If you want something they don't have they can order it and if you want a firearm transferred from another dealer in a different state they can facilitate the transfer for a very reasonable $30 fee.

Excellent shop. Our family has been making the trip to see Dennis and Mary for all our firearm needs for years now. We drive from Cicero and pass up all kinds of great alternatives because of the solid experience we receive there. The wealth of knowledge and the wisdom they have to offer is astounding. Dennis is very highly skilled as both a gunsmith and a Marksman, he has an intimate knowledge of his craft. They are always pleased to help and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. I wish there were more stars to give.

Seemed like a friendly couple, I almost made a mistake and bought sabot shells instead of the regular slugs and she had the foresight to question because I had also talked about a recent purchase I made, so she not only save me ten dollars but could have let me buy the ammo and made the two dollars herself. Honest people are hard to come buy and you can't put a price on that. They have a great selection of firearms, ammo, reloading and hunting equipment.

I love this place. Everywhere can be out of the ammo I use, but they somehow never are. Well one time they were low on my pinker ammo, but hey. The wife and Husband know more about ammo and firearms then I could ever hope to know as well. If I could I would have been adopted by them 🤣

Van Tassel's is my go to FFL for any guns that I purchase online. Their customer service is outstanding. I have also used them for repair work and have been very happy. They are great people to do business with.

I called in and asked if they could stay open a couple minutes late so I could look at some shotguns. Not only did they stay late, but they also gave me a fantastic deal and some free ammo too. I would highly recommend purchasing a firearm here. Great people and great prices!
