This place is a must visit in Key West! The food is incredible, the staff amazing, and the wine selection superb. We had the Coconut Shrimp Red Curry and the Three Way Filet Chili. The chocolate adds a dimension to the chili that is unexpectedly and fantastically delicious. The red curry has a kick that's not too hot for my delicate palate and the crusted coconut shrimp is not to be missed. I personally am obsessed with Tempranillo. Theirs does not disappoint. Pick up a bottle with dinner and you're all set. A gem just off Duvall. Do not pass go. Come for the food. Stay for the Star Wars.

Not what I expected going by its name, but I was pleasantly surprised. Expected more of an upbeat party style restaurant. I mean, really, the Flaming Buoy?! Lots of great reviews. But no one mentioned it was a low-key, high-end restaurant. However, the atmosphere was great and the food was absolutely amazing.

The Flaming Buoy in Key West is a gem – the vibe is chill, perfect for actually enjoying a conversation without turning it into a shouting match. Now, let's talk about the food – it's not just tasty, it's a flavor adventure with some out-of-the-box dishes that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. They've got variety without going too crazy, striking that delicious balance. And the service? Great place with great food. We really liked all options there. Best grilled shrimp ever in particular.

Owners are somewhat big fans of star wars, so the place has quite some themed locations including the restroom.

We were in the mood for Grouper and came here for dinner one evening because their menu showed them having Grouper in a couple of styles. We actually walked past it, because the signage is basically just a sandwich board outfront, which we overlooked when walking by, but then we walked in… isn’t this place interesting?!?! A Star Wars theme with eclectic décor and an interesting version of Urban Gothic of the owner on the wall.

We were quickly checked in and given a table in the window… nice view to see all the folks on Eaton near Duval enjoying the evening.

The menu is extremely interesting, we later learned from our server (sorry for not remembering, but I think his name is Neil?) that the majority of the recipes are from family and friends. They had everything from Cincinnati-style chili on hot dogs (I saw them, they’re “Skyline” style too!!) to Italian to Thai… Normally I don’t do Pan-Asian joints, let alone joints that make and server everything, but this place seemed like the place to give in.

We started with their trio appetizer (which seemed popular this evening, as other tables ordered it too) and I have to say that everything in it was excellent! The flavors of the lobster mac were the most robust of the three, but each were fresh and very nicely created. For my fav, it was a toss up between the lobster mac and the chimichurri shrimp… that chimichurri was excellent and the shrimp perfect flavored and grilled!

Dinner for me consisted of their Thai red chili curried black grouper – Awesome! Such a huge portion too!! The Thai red chili curry was excellent and had one heck of a kick to it (then again, I asked for the kitchen to spike it up!) and the grouper was fresh and nicely brought to temp! The veggies, specifically the snow peas were so very good!! Wifey ordered the seafood marinara, as she loves a really good gremolata and this one not only didn’t disappoint, she fell in love with it, INSTANTLY!! She couldn’t stop enjoying it, even though there was so much food, half was all she needed… she kept on going!

We both really enjoyed everything about Flaming Buoy – The service, the menu, the food, and most definitely the wine list! They have a very nice wine list, which isn’t too excessive with the mark up, but no cocktails… We do enjoy a nice cocktail before dinner, but we also enjoy wine to a greater extent, so we were disappointed. (I did hear the server at another table inform the patrons there they could bring cocktails from Tempt across the street over to enjoy with dinner – which is a great idea too, as Tempt is an AMAZING cocktail bar!)

We definitely plan on visiting The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. when back in town next time… this place was so good, it’s worth visiting more than once to try so many more of their amazing menu!

This cozy retro bistro type restaurant has all the flare and Star Wars memorabilia to keep your full attention. The food is eclectic, fresh and delicious. I highly recommend ordering the Trios. They also carry Coca Cola products surprisingly because most of Key West is Pepsi. They do offer outside seating. I will definitely be visiting here again.

Fun, weird quirky place. Star Wars X-wing fighters hanging from the ceiling. X-men comic book and a Wolverine action figure hanging on the wall. Yet this place still pulls off a romantic vibe.

Not easy to find the place I think that might be intentional. It’s almost like they dare you to eat there, if you can find it.

Key west is loaded with great restaurants. This was our favorite of them all.

A party of two, I couldn’t decide between the snapper and the tasting trio. They were nice enough to swap out the grouper with the snapper. My date had the tasting trio with the grouper and we shared the appetizer tasting trio. Everything was delicious. Don’t miss out on the lobster Mac and cheese it is the way of the Jedi.

Went there with my family out of the blue. They accommodated my large party with no problem. Being visiting from miami I don't know the area to well. They treated us amazing and the food was great!!! They made my first father's day one to remember!!!! Very nice staff and great food....

This restaurant had a vibrant candlelit ambience with a modern dark and funky interior decor. The manager and staff were fantastic, full of positive energy. The food was incredible. This was the best mea we had in Key West. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour, especially the prawns which were very juicy and the lobster Mac and cheese. The staff recommended some other great restaurants which improved the dining experience for the rest of the trip. Please see my other reviews.

One of the BEST meals I've had in KW! A hidden gem!

Arrived at 5:45pm on a Wednesday with the impression they were oddly dead for dinner time but then realized they happened to just open. Great for us as we got seated ASAP.

Our server was friendly & had a very calm demeanor (wish we could remember his name). Started out with the shrimp app which was grilled perfectly, it came with a chutney but honestly it was incredible without it too! We then ended up splitting their special that day as weren't too hungry -- the special was lobster, filet with a blue cheese sauce & spinach....it was so rich & flavorful but not overpowering! Highly highly recommend coming here!

Incredible. Please visit. Nice low key spot with attentive bartenders/servers who kinda run the whole joint. Some unique Star wars memorabilia adorn throughout. Super relaxed atmosphere with a unique take on some classics that are incredibly flavorful and delicious.

The owner and atmosphere were fantastic. Our favorite was the tomato and lobster bisque. We also enjoyed all the Star Wars decor.

After making our reservation for the wrong day we showed up to no table for us. We were graciously offered bar seating and it actually turned out better than table service. This meal was far and away the best meal we had during our week in Key West. From the appetizer to the entree to the desert to the wine recommendation, everything was spectacular. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was top notch. Just a spectacular and memorable meal.

The Flaming Buoy was an all round incredible experience! The atmosphere, food and staff were excellent. Brad went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and our party of 5 had a wonderful time. The decor was also a lot of fun with many Star Wars references throughout the restaurant.

Quaint and cozy with a small outdoor seating to watch passers-by and the vibrant street excitement! The menu is both eclectic and comfort food choices! I had the special bacon wrapped filet and lobster Thermador 🦞 with spinach salad 🥗 to start. Grilled corn on the cob and lobster mac and cheese to die for!

Surf and turf (Bacon wrapped filet and lobster thermador) was fantastic. Snapper curry was great as well. 25% off wine on a Saturday! Brian was a great bartender/server. Star Wars and 50s ventriloquist dolls make for an interesting decor. You must visit the bathroom even if you don't have to go.

I hate not to get more and better pictures of my food at this fantastic find. Underneath the battle between Vader's tie fighter and a squad of Rebellion fighters is a creative and mouthwatering display of the chef's talent in arranging flavors to delight the senses. Both my wife and my meals at the Flaming Buoy were a highlight of our trip to Key West, and the service was remarkable.

If you do not stop here you are missing out! It is VERY unsuspecting from the outside but the flavor of the food is outstanding. The trio is a MUST! The fish of the day was black grouper and it was light and flaky, the shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops were delectable, & the beddings complimented the flavors perfectly. We also indulged in the lobster Mac & cheese as well as the pink shrimp for appetizers. If the food did not speak for itself, the staff is warm and inviting as well as SUPER attentive! Icing on the cake?! Their Star Wars memorabilia! My husband is a fan and they even let him try on a helmet and handle a light saber! If I could give 10 stars I would! Will be back over and over!

Great food in a quirky "Star Wars" themed setting. The food was very high quality and the duck confeit appetizer was to die for. One of the best dishes I have ever had. I also appreciated that the chef/owner personally checked on the table several times during dinner. We were also there on a Monday and they offered 25% off bottles of wine, which was a nice surprise. Only drawback was the menu was a bit limited, especially the desserts. I would have like to have had a few more choices, but honestly all the food was great. Highly recommend this place.
