Flying Decoy Bar and Grill

Wow! Just wow! It takes so much to impress me but, thr Flying Decoy has done it. From the awesome old church ,the innovative food choices, and the great prices...I don't know how I will be able to go to other places after this. Where to start...Burratta, wings, blackened local catfish, and the Fried Green Tomato sandwich were mouth watering. Even the fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. This place is a true gem. If you are even remotely in the vacinity, it is a must stop.

Fabulous place to enjoy sitting outside during good weather days and relax with a wonderful appetizer, entree and drink. Plenty of options; for those who are gluten-free, the staff clearly understands the health concerns of those with celiac disease. For someone who doesn't eat seafood, I enjoyed the branzini with almond butter sauce. Also, definitely try the Blue Crab Dip! And say hi to Dana for me!!

Lucky for us, it was sunny and we could eat outside. The staff was awesome. The food was excellent. We even had the dog with us, and they provided water for him

Tried this new place for the first time a month ago. The food was outstanding and so were the drinks! The server was awesome. It was an overall great experience and we can’t wait to go back. I wish they had outdoor seating out front. That would make even more enjoyable.

First time at Flying Decoy in Rockhall from a recommendation of the owner of North Point Marina. We took our boat to Rockhall and met friends from Chestertown. Greeted immediately and seated. Dining area used to be a church. We were immediately provided water, lemon and 4 glasses. Our waitress Maddie was very nice and attentive. My friend and I both ordered the grilled salmon and the guys ordered the burger that had tons of bacon. All was great. We were not rushed in any way and enjoyed a few drinks. Would definitely go back next time in Rockhall.

This was one of the only places that serves food after 9 pm on a weekend, so they're winning off of the bat. The burger was great, perfectly cooked. Spanish shrimp were good, and the beet salad was delicious. My only con was that the orange crush didn't taste like freshly squeezed orange juice and more like oj from a jug. Oh, and I felt bad for wait staff because dining room AC wasn't working.

The little lady and I enjoyed a beet salad, mussels in white wine, and two gigantic burgers with a duck fat upgrade for the fries. Highlights included the dressing on the salad (plate-lickin'), the broth served with the mussels (seasoned just right), and a just-perfect burger, half of which we brought home. What an amazing meal! Sharen was our server, and we were delighted to see her there. Oh, the wine pour was very nice also. The whole experience was a 10! Highly recommended.

We had a really lovely dinner at The Flying Decoy their first week open. For the first week open, the service was excellent. Everyone was very warm and friendly. I’ve a shellfish allergy and really enjoyed the roasted chicken. My husband enjoyed the garlic shrimp and a burger. Pricing was very fair and aligned with restaurant pricing in the area. It’s exciting to see a local chef bring a new concept to a space that has been well loved as a restaurant for many years.

Have had dinner at the Flying Decoy twice this week. What an awesome experience and the food is superb! First night had the Burger and second had the chicken with a Burata appetizer. The food was delicious! Service was fantastic!! Highly recommend the Flying Decoy!! You will love it!!

Chef Jay is phenomenal. The shrimp and grits, salmon blt, blackened chicken and the decoy burger were all FIRE! Outstanding homemade honey mustard vinaigrette.

The food was phenomenal! We will be regulars from now on! It is so good. We tried it for the first time tonight and it was so delicious! We will be back many, many times.

Great gourmet food. Nice service and atmosphere and good parking out back. Definitely a good choice for sit down food in rock hall.

One of the best meals I have ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Even the rice here is cooked perfectly. Whoever this new chef is knows what he is doing.

This place was great in every way. The staff was so nice (especially to our pup, and we were able to eat outside. The harvest pasta was delicious.-

Great food with a menu giving choices to everyone. Very cute decor, great service. Will definitely be back when in area again next year!!

The food is terrific, the menu is not too big or too small, there is a good variety. Staff was warm and personable. We will definitely be back.

Great mussels- broth is excellent and the crusty bread was terrific too!
