Super cool hike. Decent for all ages. Dogs welcome. Ended up right at 10 miles but we did a little extra exploring past the "main waterfall". Second half of trail is over grown, but the first half is well worn and easy to follow. Beautiful falls, great for summer time.

Amazing hike. Got there at 7:30AM and didn't see anyone until I hiked out. The bridges are out, so expect to wade the creek in a few places to get to the falls. Great to sit and be surrounded by nature. Brought breakfast - great place to have a cup of coffee. Remember, if you hike it in, hike it out. Leave only footprints. I will be back. Picture of Moose making coffee.

Now I definitely loved this hike. I took my 15 year old son and my 14 year old daughter. This isn't an easy hike but definitely not a hard one as well. Couple rough spots that you have to be careful. Also there's a spot where you have to cross the water and it can be real slippery. There's a rope for you to hold on to but just be prepared to possibly get wet. The water was beautiful. The hike is 3.5 miles or a little more. So many beautiful spots along the trail. This definitely one of my best waterfall hikes. I'd recommend this place to anyone in decent shape or active. Bring water and snacks if you want but keep your hands free you may have to use them in spots to keep your balance.

I was told this was a great fishing spot by my brother in law... great place to hike if your ready for intermediate trails. Not so much for fishing. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time and caught two but it's a hike to get in and out of those ravines. Maybe I'll leave the waders at home next time so I don't worry about ripping them. Heck I'll be back even if only to hike that trail again. Be careful and have fun. Take some pics for me...

Went for mother's day to see the falls. Had a good time with family. Only down fall is there wasn't much safety rails and ropes for you to use. Dont recommended with small children. Definitely something I will research for our next hiking to see waterfalls. Despite the rough navigation seeing the falls at the end was well worth it and you can swim near the falls. 3.5 miles there and 3.5 coming back. If gonna do it it's best to go in early morning because we went in about 3pm and didn't get back out until 1145pm.

The trail to the falls is extremely steep and strenuous. However the end of the trail is beautiful waterfalls. It's worth it. Took us 2hrs to go 3 miles for this hike.

A beautiful hike along a creek with multiple small waterfalls leading up to an amazing waterfall at the end. The bridges are out but there are rock crossings of you have good balance.

Wonderful trail! We only hike in about half a mile for a weekly play group and it is so much fun for the kids! They can access the creek, we can build a fire and it gets them out in the fresh air. There is A LOT of trash in the area though, we always take bags and pack out anything what we can see but it’s a shame that there is so much left behind. If you go please considering bringing an extra bag and leaving the area better than you found it.

Awesome trail! Beautiful scenery. Definitely easier on the way in. Coming back out is more of an uphill trek but nothing major. Some areas along the trail get pretty dense. The trail is dog friendly but there are some areas where it gets a little tricky (at least it did for our dog). Some of the rails along some of the stepper areas have fallen or are slowly washing away. There are a lot of exposed roots on the trail. Once you get to the falls it’s amazing! Plenty of room to hang out in the water or on the mini beach area. There are also plenty of tent camping sites along the trail.

Went with husband, our 9 year old golden retriever, and our three older kids 11, 13, and 17. Went all the way to the falls. We are a pretty active family and this is not a beginner / special needs accessible trail. Sign at trail head says 3.5 miles, but my Fitbit said 10.1 miles round trip (5.1 out and 5.1 back) and 88 flights of stairs. Not an easy trail, but definitely not the worst we have been on. Lots of uneven terrain including some steep climbs, tree roots, narrow paths with steep drop offs (some with cable type railings and some without), and some large overhanging rocks. Very exciting! Saw a number of people both going out passing us and coming back, but it didn't feel crowded or like there were a lot of tourists. Trails and creek were clean, no trash, no pet waste. People were very good about cleaning up after themselves and their animals. Beautiful views, and we felt the waterfall and "beach" area was well worth the hike. Our pup and kids splashed around a bit while we rested up before heading back. We will be back again!

Such a gorgeous hike. Highly recommend. There are a few different trail heads of various lengths. Choose which difficulty level you prefer. It's worth the hike no matter what distance.

So we took the shorter route to Panther Creek from Camp Yonah road. There should be a little pull off enough space for 2 vehicles. There should be an orange ribbon to let you know you made it. It was a 1.5 mile trail. It was very strenuous. Alot of downhill. But it was well worth it. On the trail when you come to the first fork in the path take the right one. There should be an orange ribbon. The second fork on the trail take the left path. There should be an orange ribbon on a tree.

Love this hike. It's one of my favorite hikes. The challenge is moderate. It is possible to camp here. The waterfall is worth it. The water is very cold🥶 but I tough it out for a picture 💁‍♀

Love this place, and can’t believe I haven’t been here already. It’s true that this is a more difficult trail - listen to the other reviewers or the Atlanta Trails website - but supremely worth it. It’s an interactive trail, where it’s not just a straight steady trail that leads to a waterfall, but instead has many nooks and crannies to explore, including gigantic boulders to stand on (my favorite!). At the time of year I visited (late April), there were also abundant butterflies. Bring the right gear for this trail because there are some railings, but several are worn down or unhelpful so be prepared to be nimble. This trail could use some extra signage to label the campgrounds, as some campgrounds were large enough to question which was the correct path. There are bathrooms across the street from the trailhead that are the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in the middle of nature. Overall, a marvelous place worthy of visiting time and again.

This will test your agility. You follow the trails only by observing the path made by traffic. The bridges were out, due to flooding so crossing water could be precarious. We crossed 3 times. Keep in mind storms upriver can make the water wild. 😉 Bring a dry bag for clothes change. Definitely bring water shoes, sturdy hiking boots and yes! It's beautiful but pay attention to your footing. Lots of exposed roots, rocks that will move at times under your feet. Very steep hills at times. We wore layers, had water and light snacks on hand. Passed a lot of nice hikers, variety of ages and stamina levels. Lots of dogs. Most people picked up their dog waste, but a few left the lil poop bags along the trail.... Double bag it and take it with you. Trash can at the parking area.
It was canopied in shade with a few sunny spots. Lots of deep overlooks. Spring flowers blooming, nifty greenery. The falls were breathtaking. Little beachy area to rest. Great photo opportunities 📷🤳. I'd say it was a fun day. Sore but grateful for the experience.

Perfect summertime spit to chill, Beautiful trail and nice waterfall. Water was cold but we enjoyed swimming here. Total trail is around 6.9 round trip with some difficult elevation. This trail is also studded with campsites along the way.

One of my favorite places! Drove 2+ hours and will do it many more times. 3.5 mile hike one way, pretty easy for the most part untill you get close to the falls. Bring water, snacks and swim clothes! Great swimming hole.

This was a beautiful hike. It is rated as difficult due to the trail being damaged in several places, necessary water crossings due to bridge wash outs and the overall distance. Water crossings #1 and 3 were pretty easy, just use the rocks to cross. At water crossing #2, there is a large tree you can walk across off to the side but no hand holds so good balance is needed. After water crossing #1, the trail is relatively flat and easy but then becomes more variable and lots of roots as you get further on. At times the trail is very narrow due to trail damage but passable with use of caution. There are beautiful cascades along the hike and right before the actual falls there is a gorgeous cascade that if we hadn't seen a picture of the actual falls before going, we would of thought that was it. Follow the trail down to a clearing/beach area for the view of the actual falls. Arrive earlier in the day so you have plenty of time to explore and b/c the trail became more populated in the afternoon hours.

Beautiful hike, highly recommended for a day hike. The trail can get tricky and steep at times, so watch your step and plan on at least 5 hours to complete.

Beautiful trail. I’d say it’s a pretty difficult trail. Park in the bigger lot across the street to start in the trail head. Lots of roots. Steep. Lots of fallen trees and erosion. Some parts were extremely thin and slippery. The railings had fallen down and there were steep ledges. Please step carefully. Trip or slip and you could fall of the ledge. Worth the beautiful views though. Pack food for a nice picnic by the waterfall.
Not for children. Not for beginner hikers. Don’t go alone. There is no cell phone service. Wear good ankle support. Bring a hiking stick.
