Portillo's Gurnee

The food was excellent. We came here after poor service at another local establishment. We knew it would be great food and service at Portillo’s! I had the spicy chicken sandwich and it was great. The vegetarian of the group enjoys the veggie dog (she asks kindly to never remove it from the menu). Great location!

Love eating here! Today I had a cheeseburger with onion rings plus a chocolate milkshake.I really needed some comfort food today and Portillo's never disappoints!! All of the food here is really good! I absolutely love their chocolate cake! Great place to eat!!

If you are driving through IL and haven’t had an Italian Beef you are missing out. Yes, this is a chain but it has history within the Chicagoland community. The food is well prepared and quickly delivered. Highly recommend going inside for a true experience. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Ordered 2 Italian Beef baptized with hot peppers, bread held up very well. Peppers have a bit too much oil for some but I like it that way great to dip fries in.

They do have beer on tap as well. All around good spot if you’re passing through or just don’t know what to get for lunch/dinner.

I enjoy this place however they kept getting my order wrong on this trip.
They quickly fixed it. It’s only my second time ever having Portillo’s.
This location the food was not as good as the chicago locations maybe because it was So, so busy they rushed it. The Meat was bland. Staff was friendly

I ordered in the drive thru and when I got home I noticed that some food items were missing. I drove back and provided them with proof of purchase. The guy that I first spoke was very nice and attentive. He immediately informed the manager and prepared the items I was missing. The manager was very apologetic and I appreciated the timeliness in addressing the situation. Thank you!

Best Italian Beef In Town!!!
Amazing burgers, cheese fries, chili dogs, maxwell polish dogs, and even the salads are good. Large sitting areas with different styles like bar, booths, and tables. Always packed, but food comes out quick and really good. Drive thru is always busy but well organized, and they get you out quickly. Customer service is always friendly with a smile. There are plenty of regular and handicap parking spots.

Absolutely loved this. Fast, casual dining. Friendly service. Plenty of seating. Great food. Perfect portions.

It’s hard to beat Portillo’s when it comes to Italian beef. But they also have excellent salad, onion rings, chicken tenders, etc. Italian beef is particularly good when it is dipped and hot giardiniera is added. One of the best fast food joints ever.

Love Portillo's. Good food, good service, and good atmosphere. Beef, burgers, and hotdogs. You can't go wrong. The meat on the ribs are "fall off the bone," too! Top it off with fries and a refreshing coke. Ahhh. I'm hungry for Portillo's just talking about it. 😃

Delicious Italian beef sandwiches. Their fries are excellent and if you have a sweet tooth, a cake shake really hits the spot!

I've seen in some top 10 or 20 best places for Chicago hotdogs in Chicago/Chicago area that Portillo's is never in 1st place and such venues like Gene & Jude's, Byron's or Superdawg rank higher.

Well I guess it really is a matter of opinion or taste but for me Portillo's has the best Chicago dog of em all. Same goes for Italian beef, other's may say AL's or Buona is the best but I'd like to think of Portillo's as the "all-around" Chicago menu minus the pizza.

Have always loved walking into that old school classic atmosphere accompanied by the music of that era. I've eaten various items on their menu but it's mainly the jumbo dog and Italian beef w/mozzarella cheese + sweet peppers I usually crave.

This location along with any other location I've dined in is always kept clean and staff is always polite. I've often heard other people complain that prices are too high but you're paying for high quality food that tastes exceptional.

I'm so glad that Portillo's stayed alive thru the shutdown and continues to attract plenty of customers. Sadly I'm aware of other businesses that have folded and I'm sure this awful pandemic has caused many local-owned establishments across the US and even the rest of the world to permanently close.

I pray that the economy will come back and that the world will soon prevail from this horrible catastrophe. Until then I will continue to support Portillo's and other businesses especially local-owned.

Portillo's is my favorite go to place. It's not just fast food it is good food fast. They're all over the area, which makes it easy to experience the consistently high quality food. You get even more choices if the Portillo's is combined with Barnelli's. There is something for everyone, young or old.

The front register girl, Angela is very polite. She took my order with such a smile and polite manner. I always see her when I come in, and everytime she exceeds my expectations for this portillos location. Place is nice, and clean. I recommend.

The only thing I needed was about 4 more french fries to go with my meal. Delicious!! Italian Beef with Sweet Peppers and Mozzarella cheese slightly dipped. OMG 😍😍😍😍😍

Portillo’s is one our favorite places to eat. I don’t think I have ever had something I don’t like. Their Italian beef sandwiches, Polish sausages, hot dogs, onion rings, and salads are incredible! My wife’s favorite is the strawberry shortcake!

This location (right off I-94) can get very busy BUT the drive-through is still relatively quick for the quality, quick-serve, comfort food.
If you are driving through from the East Coast and have NOT tried Portillo's this may be your BEST option for an iconic Italian Beef, a great Chopped Salad and moist, delicious Chocolate Cake.
Don't miss it.

Great food, great atmosphere, great place to bring the family! I always get the double bacon 🍔, and a large coke. Cant go wrong! The chocolate shake and cake are amazing. And you cant beat the mall being right next to it to walk off the pounds! Me and my family are always satisfied when we go and dine here. Thumbs ☝.

Over the last 4 years we have always made this Portillos a grub stop and we were not disappointed this go round (or any). I did observe the manager maintain his professionalism and composure while dealing with a not so great customer (multiple times) and I absolutely commend him. Customer service is tough but even harder so when you have ridiculously rude and entitled customers to contend with. Every single staff member we encountered during our recent visit was incredibly pleasant and kind and they worked seamlessly together! You truly have a great staff here along with great food (and incredibly hot and crisp French fries ) thank you for helping to make this a memorable experience for my son in laws first time here too!

I absolutely love the Plant Based Garden Dog!! It's a delicious plant-based hot dog, topped just like a Chicago dog.
I highly recommend.

Really good sandwich. Fun atmosphere. Would definitely come back if we are this way.
