Walkers was a great date night treat!

Giving 4 stars on the service because of the fact that it took two hours to get through the meal, our server was great, no real fault of his.

Food was incredible, the cauliflower was the most recommended but it didn't quite hit our palates the way we were expecting it, but it's definitely delicious!

I had the burger and the bun was kind of charred which affected the taste of the burger itself but definitely would recommend overall. Their fries were great.

Wife had the spaghetti and meatballs, what a serving! This is what I'd expect at nanas house. The sauce was great and the 4 meatballs was a nice serving.

The French onion soup stole the show for me, it was quite honestly THE BEST French onion soup I've ever had. Highly recommend on a rainy night.

Overall great experience, besides the two hours for the meal but would definitely dine again and absolutely recommend a trip if you're around.

Most times when you find a restaurant with exquisite food you compromise with small portions. If only there was one where you could leave happy and full.

There is--it's called Walkers Maine. Here you can have a really memorable meal at a reasonable price, and leave full!

All our dishes were delightful, so for brevity I'll highlight the main courses we chose. The main meals come as a complete dish with veggies, starch, and protein. This is unexpected at the level of culinary expertise Walkers Maine attains. Usually, you'll need to match sides to a main dish and pay extra. Not here. The chef has expertly sided the main course.

We had two smoked duck legs (actually leg and thigh) paired with fried porcini rice with a perfect umami infused sauce, boc choy, and ringed in a cirrus strata of yogurt. Fabulous; and with two duck legs.

The other main dish was a wood fired pork chop cooked to perfect juiciness and laid on a pool of mustard. Who would put mustard on a pork chop? Well, when it is a crafted Meyer lemon mostarda, then you have a heavenly condiment.

You'll see the current menus in the pictures. We also ordered speckled romaine, empanadas salad, a unique vision on calamari, and luscious spinach Bolognese lasagna with creamy bechamel sauce.

We were unable to order dessert, nor could we complete our meals because of the portions. Now, that is a pleasant ordeal. A fine epicurean meal, in a lovely setting with impeccable service, and a doggie bag upon leaving--unheard of.

Service was impeccable. We never had to ask for anything. We were attended as needed, and left to our conversation. This is elegant class from a world disappearing.

Handicap parking and entrance are to the right of the restaurant. During inclement weather you should get dropped off at the portico, which is paved. The parking areas are gravel/dirt mix, which are hard packed, but soften in a hard, prolonged rain.

Great place for a fancy night out! The duck was very good and falling off the bone (one piece was a little drier than the other) and the rice with the sauce was definitely top notch. I would highly recommend the brioche donuts for dessert. I still crave more of the donuts afterwards

What an amazing restaurant
Sat near the fireplace. Nice amount of space between tables. Music was at a good level didnt have to talk to lo7d to hear your table mates.

The whole toasted cauliflower is a perect appetizer. Light and flavorful.
The french onion soup was the best I have ever had. The short rib was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. So good.
And I would have never thought of a donut for dessert, but they were delicious. The cheese cake was also very good
The staff was amazing.

I would give 10/10 stars if possible

We had a wonderful experience at Walker’s last week! The service was outstanding and the food matched the service. We have eaten at Walker’s a number of times over the years and it is never a disappointment. The menu changes regularly and two items that stood out on this visit were the lasagna and the duck. The lasagna was made with a white sauce in the style of northern Italy and the duck was complimented with rice and chard that matched the spices in the meat. In addition, the wines suggested by the server were both unique and enhanced the taste of the food. As always, we look forward to our next visit!

It's one of the best meals I've had in York. I went with friends, and the atmosphere was sophisticated yet semi casual. We wore dress pants, dresses, and button shirts and blended nicely with the crowd. This is a wonderful romantic spot to get out for dinner without the children. They have a wonderful creative cocktail menu as well as IPAS and a very long list of wines to complement your meal. The menu has just the right mix between meats pastas, chicken pork, and vegetables. Every bite was flavorful and a true palate experience. My group enjoyed all that we ordered. We finished the evening with what I would consider a trademark of Walkers, their Brioche Donuts. If you do nothing else, go in and grab a cappuccino and order if this heavenly dessert. You won't be disappointed.

Saturday's date night brought my wife and I to another restaurant we had never been to before. This one came on a tip from the exceptionally talented and wonderful human being, Nikki Nocella of Stalk. We made reservations and made our way in to Maine to 1273 US 1 in Cape Neddick, home of Walkers Maine(Pics 1-4).

We were brought to our seats and given menus for cocktails, wine, and food, and we began to look things over. We immediately ordered a bottle of Saratoga Sparkling Water(Pic 5). When that was delivered, my wife ordered a Witch Please(Pic 6). This was a wonderful drink made with Bully Boy Seacoast Vodka, blackberry, allspice dram, and lemon verbena. My wife loved, loved, loved it. I ordered a Rhubee Hive(Pic 7). This beauty was made with Bar Hill Gin, Rhubarb, honey, and lemon. I really enjoyed this drink. It was very refreshing and flavorful.

After our drinks were delivered, we ordered an appetizer. While waiting for the app, our waiter brought us a focaccia bread basket with dipping oil(Pic 8). Warm, soft with a crispy top, and delicious. Then, our appetizer arrived(Pic 9). These seared artichoke hearts were made with brown butter, Nicoise olives, and caramelized lemon. OMG, it was out of this world!!! So much flavor that we both devoured our skewers.

When it was time for the entrée, my wife ordered the Prime Sirloin Kebabs(Pic 10). This meal included a brown butter roasted yam, topped with scallions, avocado, and sour cream then served with a cherry tomato salsa. The kebabs were cooked to perfection. The yam was mouthwateringly flavorful, and the cherry tomato salsa was the first thing she went after and completely devoured.

I was bouncing between three different entrées, and with help from our waiter, I selected the Wood Fired Pork Chop(Pic 11). This Chop was huge, wildly flavorful, and juicy. I had meat sweats last night, but I'd do it all over again. It was served atop potato cheddar mashed potatoes, bacon and wood fired cabbage, and Meyer lemon-onion mostarda. I completely fell in love with this dish. It was a hearty bounty that surprised my palette. I asked for and received a wine best suited with my meal, this luscious Pinot Noir(Pic 12)

For dessert, we each ordered a decaf coffee and we split the brioche donuts with vanilla ice cream (Pic 13). The donuts melted in your mouth, and come to think of it, so did the ice cream. 🤔😉

The entire evening was so wonderful. We sat in the bar area with the fire going in the fireplace. We were cared for by an entire 6 or 7 person team. Everyone who worked in that area came in contact with us. It was truly extraordinary. Another thing that impressed us, was in between each course, someone came over and wiped the table down. If you are like us and have never been to Walkers Maine, you should make every effort to go. The atmosphere is comfortable, the food is simply outstanding, and the service is exemplary. Give it a try.

Dine on!

One of the best meals of my life. Came here during our honeymoon and we were floored. The vibe is cozy, rustic and romantic. Even the way the table was set between courses was so intentional and elegantly done, including unique, beautiful dish-ware. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave wonderful recommendations. You absolutely cannot pass on the brioche donuts. They were to die for!

Just wow. We were in Maine for a corporate offsite meeting and looking for an interesting place for our last dinner in York together. I couldn’t have been more impressed with everything about this place. The service was incredible - very knowledgeable about the menu with great suggestions for our group. Coordinating service so everyone was given their entree at the same time - very impressive and well appreciated. And the food! Some of the best I’ve ever had, including the most incredible beets I’ve ever had. Our group raved about every appetizer and entree - and the desserts: donuts! Amazing… we’ll definitely be back!

My company Hager Photography was hired to photograph a wedding celebration at Walkers this fall and man, it was such a wonderful time. The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff was so professional and friendly. The bride and groom told me ahead of time that Walkers is known for their food and presentation and they were not wrong. The food was offered up in a creative buffet-style and it looked AMAZING. These people are PROS.

Update second visit in 3 years:

We have been to Joshua's, The Village Tavern, and many more.... Walker's is our favorite!

We sat outside for our second visit and it was a beautiful setting. As the night got later around 9pm the mosquitoes started to bother us.

We started with the local Maine cauliflower (not the white one you are used to), which had a broccoli look to it. It impressed us the most because we never have such an appetizer so delicious coming from a cauliflower. We had the bleu cheese and buffalo roasted cauliflower before, but this one from Walker's blows it away. The roasted sear and balanced flavors if salt and vinegar was superb. Almost taste like bacon as well. We even used the bread to dip more of the broth the cauliflower just infused itself with.

Update 2nd visit apps: We definitely got the cauliflower again, it hit the spot. We kept dipping the sauce to cover the cauliflower.

I also ordered the crab appetizer with watermelon which was light and flavorful. We wanted to experience something new and this dish didn't disappoint.

Next my wife got the duck and I got the pork chop special. Secretly I wanted to order The duck as well. We compromised and split both dishes. The duck was my favorite and will order that next time. It has Asian inspired rice and bok choy. The duck has a hint if smoke flavor and light crisp texture with how they cook it in the open flame grill. You can only experience this dish here at Walkers.

The pork was roasted/charred to perfection. The corn on the cob was also roasted and had aioli and crispy chips in top of it, amazing. I am forever ruined to eat corn again if it is not made like this...ha. The pork was over a potato salad base. Everything on both dishes were well thought out and perfectly balanced.

Update 2nd visit: my wife got the duck again and I wished I got it...ha. I got the grilled steak which was excellent and all the flavors and textures were balanced.

Lastly we completed our anniversary dinner with the chocolate lava cake with coffee gelato with hazelnuts. We saw others get the donuts, but it's rare to get a lava cake and we're glad we choose that.

Walker's is our new favorite fine dining spot!

Also thanks for the complimentary glasses of champagne!

This is a must visit palce if you like good food. Menu changes frequently and all the tastes ara just amazing. The flavor combinations are creative and delicious.! Go for the whole experience from appetizer to main dish to desert! You will not regret. This place has 2 sections, the larger room has a more formal feel, the tables around the bar more rustic and more relaxed feel.

Visited southern Maine for a week, Walkers Maine was by far the BEST place we have found the whole time we were there. The menu may seem limited to some, but what they do offer is absolutely phenomenal and so well put together. I ordered the short ribs and the donuts for dessert. Everything was incredible, from the food, the laid back yet upscale atmosphere, and mostly the incredible friendly staff! Next time I visit Maine I will be looking forward to coming back to Walkers and highly recommend to anyone looking for a really really great meal with friends or a special someone.

Walkers is a lovely restaurant along Rte. 1,just past the backside of the animal kingdom park. It is pricier than the average restaurant in this area, but I would consider this as close to fine dining as you can get outside of a major city. The menu is seasonal , it is already changing as the fiddlehead ferns were out of season, we got breakfast radishes instead. They were absolutely delicious! Buttery, seasoned just right, so good. I also got the oysters, $3.50 each.my husband ordered the smoked duck which was nothing short of amazing. He said the fried rice that came with it was the best he has ever had. Quite a statement from him, he is very particular. The swordfish I ordered was perfect and served with a mussel chowder of sorts. We ended the meal with the brioche doughnut , which was so satisfying, sweet enough, not too sweet.
Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. The decor is beautiful. There is plenty of parking. This is a fine dining experience so, yes it's expensive and the food presentation has some effort behind it. But all the dishes were excellent and worth it.

If you are looking for a unique and truly amazing place to check out…look no further. I just went here on a 2nd date with someone very special and everything was out of this world. From the hostess, to the wait staff to the food and ambience. I can not say enough good things about this place. And the food is pure heaven. The pumpkin fries are a def must! We also had the mai tai drink and it was just beyond delicious. The bolognese was incredible as was the chicken saltimboca. And don’t even think about leaving before you order their in-house made donuts! This is a true gem and you won’t regret going!!!
