Eko Backen Country Weddings

I HIGHLY recommend Eko Backen Country Weddings; it was truly the perfect venue for the rustic feel we were seeking for our wedding in September of 2022!! John was wonderful to work with-- he truly wants each couple to sit back and enjoy this special time in their lives and does everything he can to make sure all of the details are taken care of. The love he has for his land is infectious! The barn, bridal suite, and views are easy to fall in love with. We had planned a fully outdoor experience for our wedding, but it ended up raining right after the ceremony; the venue is so versatile, it truly did not even make a difference! The warm lights in the barn made for such a homey, loving feel as the rain fell outside-- it was absolutely magical. We have received so many compliments on our day, and I think the atmosphere of Eko Backen is what contributed most to the incredible energy :)

My wife and I started our beautiful journey into marriage here and we couldn't have picked a better location (or a better day for that matter). The venue layout was very open and spacious and we had access to every part of the chalet that we needed. The building outside where we held the dinner and reception was nice and airy on such a hot day; Perfect for clearing out a few tables and creating the dance floor. My wife was given the upstairs of the chalet to get ready with her girls and she had the dreamy wedding that she always deserved.

The owner, John was very accommodating and open to our ideas about layout and very kind to us and our guests. He made sure we were well taken care of in every way.

We walked down the aisle in the yard next to the big tree and said our vows under the sun in front of our friends and family. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was everything we imagined it would be.

Eko Backen was THE perfect place to take my step-daughter for her senior pictures. The buildings and landscape were perfect! The owner John was amazing to work with to set up times and just let us do our own thing. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great place to take pictures.

We highly recommend having your wedding/reception at Eko Backen! The owner John is so easy to work with and nice. Our wedding turned out beautiful! The bar was perfect, food was delicious, mini golf course, bridal suite was perfect!! Loved that the ceremony and reception was in the same place.

We planned for an outdoor wedding 9/23/22, unfortunately it rained. John and staff were able to put ceremony in the barn and it turned out perfect and beautiful!! Vary accommodating for all your needs, they have a lot of resources too!!

The whole location is beautiful and makes for beautiful pictures as well!!

This is the most beautiful wedding venue! We could not have been happier with the entire experience holding our daughter’s wedding at Eko Backen. They were very helpful and flexible through the planning process, answering all our questions. The policies they have for setup and clean-up after the event were the best we found anywhere. We had a ton of compliments on the beautiful venue and the wonderful food! We had a terrific dinner and late night pizza which was also great. The scenic views are truly gorgeous, the indoor facilities are great and the outdoor spaces gave us fantastic options for the ceremony site, photos, and most importantly our guests had a great time with outdoor games, mini golf, and areas to socialize. The value for the price cannot be beat! We are so grateful to John and his team for making our event spectacular.

We had our wedding here on June 26th and it was a really positive experience! I'd recommend the venue for especially the laid back bride or groom.
Pros:
-John is very nice and easy to work with.
-Guests liked the food, and it was served hot and on time.
-venue is BEAUTIFUL in the evening especially. Was so fun watching our guests take advantage of the mini golf and games we set out. It's spacious enough that it didn't feel crowded.
-Alcohol policy was awesome. We purchased through Costco and saved a ton of money.
Cons:
-Wish the food tastings included almost all the menu. We chose some things off the menu that we had never tasted before because they weren't offered.
-the bathrooms could be a little more modern/nicer.

John is a very relaxed person without a lot of strict rules, so if that's what you are looking for this is a good option. If you thrive on structure you may not like his style. Him and his team pulled it off wonderfully and made our day amazing. Our guests gave nothing but positive feedback.

My Son and Daughter-in-law were married here June 12, 2021 with 150 guests. The entire experience from the first day we looked at the venue to the moment the last guest left, John and his team had been nothing short of amazing. John brings a sense of calm, while providing you with everything and more that you would need. The venue is absolutely breath taking. Our guests fully enjoyed the day and left saying “this was the best wedding we’ve ever been too!” Couldn’t rate this venue high enough. Thank you Eko Backen for making our kids dreams come true!!

We had a wedding the weekend of June 12, 2021 for my nephew and it was absolutely beautiful!! The grounds are beautiful, the wedding was perfect and the food was bountiful and delish and the bartenders were great too!! The miniature golf, bags and views are a fantastic add on to the venue also. We would like to say THANK YOU to John and his staff for the marvelous time spent at this beautiful venue!!

To celebrate my nephew's 10th birthday our family planned a day of snow-tubing. This would be the first time for both my niece and nephew so we were hoping to make this a memorial day. When my brother did a Google search we chose Eko Backen from a list of about 5 different places even though it was 40-45 minute drive for us. We liked the pictures and description on the website. The day before, I emailed to make sure our birthday party of 7 was good to go and I received a response right away from John saying, "We are set. New snow too. See you Saturday." It turned out to be a perfect day! Cold, but a sunny afternoon. My niece, nephew and his best buddy had a wonderful time! The staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and kind and the foodies among us weren't expecting this, but the pizza and fries were surprisingly tasty as well. Definitely would recommend this place for a day in the snow! Thank you Eko Backen, for the memories!

My daughter and I went to Eko Backen to play miniature golf a few weeks ago. They were preparing for a wedding so the miniature golf was not open. However, the nice gentleman said we could still play - since we were already there. He also let us go around as many times as we wanted! I offered to pay him - but he would not let me. What a nice place to visit. Also, the views were amazing! We will definitely return!

We have had many winter parties at Eko Backen - hockey team, scouts and school groups. The owner has been great to work with in coordinating these events and even donates to our school events every year. The kids always enjoy their time at Eko Backen and never want to leave. We often stay until closing time. I personally enjoy watching from the loft with other parents. We reserve the loft to have a private place for our group to gather and enjoy Eko Backen pizza. Thanks for the memories!

A very unique venue, can be used for many celebrations, opportunities for children to keep busy while being with family. Beautiful opportunity for pictures. Secluded, country setting. Owners were willing to work with us. Loved it

Brought the family snow tubing and had a blast! Don't listen to the people who posted negative reviews. Go check it out for yourself! I will definitely be going back and recommend this fun time to others! A previous review said there aren't signs. Well they are there and we had no problem getting here. Also there was a comment about the road being small and icy. It is like a driveway so it's not as big as a road. People complain about ridiculous things. Take the kids and enjoy the day!

Eko Backen was an outstanding venue! So fun and the scenery is breathtaking. The venue is very versatile for whatever you want for your wedding; this can be a very elegant setting or you can make this a very relaxed and casual setting. At our wedding, guests continually came up to us saying that this was the most fun wedding that they have been to! Plus, John Fraley, the owner of Eko Backen, is such a down-to-earth person, truly a pleasure to deal with! All in all, Eko Backen sets the bar high when it comes to wedding venues.

A group of us went last year and it was an absolute blast! We chose Eko Backen because it was the only place around that you could "freely tube" instead of going single file down your own row. We loved that! It was so fun to just jump on the tube and fly down the hill by yourself, or link up with your group and go down as a mob!
We already have plans of going back this year! Can't wait!

We got married here on June 2, 2018. When we first visited the venue we knew it was the perfect place that fit our vision of our special day. From the layout being open with indoor and outdoor accessibility and having access to every part of the chalet. One of my worries about choosing a venue was that people would be too spread out, and there would be groups of people at the bar and some outside, It was a relief to have such an awesome layout where all could mingle and have that togetherness type of feel. The barn style building outside where we held the dinner and reception is beautiful if you're looking for a rustic style wedding like we were. The natural beauty of it makes decorating easy and simple. The rustic chandeliers had me at hello!

The owner, John is an awesome guy! He helped us in everyway possible. Anytime I had questions he was there and he even eased my worries here and there as they came up, with recommendations that truly helped. Did I mention John is awesome! We feel we made a friend for life.
