Went there for my birthday dinner last night and couldn’t stop eating. Everything was superbly fresh and cooked to perfection!!!! The combination of flavors and nutrition met, you don’t receive in any restaurant anymore. Every dish was a piece of art and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Thank you for this most delicious experience. We will certainly be back.

Would I drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to have dinner here again? Absolutely! Everyone was really friendly, shout out billy and Claudia for showing us great hospitality. My fiancé and I had two appetizers, one entree and two desserts. We wish we had bigger stomachs so we could try more food! In our opinions every meal was a 10 out of 10. Compliments to the chef which is indeed the farmers daughter! Can’t wait to come back here and try more from the menu

What a relaxed dining experience. Everything is fresh and a true farm to table experience!! We drove over an hour to get to this restaurant but didn't realize it's popularity. We arrived just after opening and we're told they were booked for the entire day with reservations. Luckily they squeezed us in at a table that wasn't expected for another hour. The service was absolutely spot-on and the food was so delicious! It was definitely worth the trip but especially on weekends I would recommend calling a day ahead to secure a reservation. We loved hearing about the history of this restaurant.

Food is amazing and very creative. Have had breakfast lunch and dinner. The only challenge is to decide what to order. Kudos to this talented chef and her son in their kitchen. This is a gastronomic treat from an entire team that does not present any versions of the obligatory standards found on most other menus. The wait staff has a great energy, which adds to the whole dining experience. I travel from PA to experience the food and if it were closer it would certainly be a go-to for me. The attached farm market with its delightful cheeses and treats, as well as unique and wonderfully fun culinary items-and even clothing-make the entire experience a heart-warming and fulfilling journey.

This was an actual perfect experience. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive but not intrusive, and the textures of all the food served was absolute flawless.

Thanks to my friends Eli and Debra I found this excellent farm to table restaurant. It was almost an hour and half trip one way, but worth it. For appetizers we had the crab cake, Zeppolis topped with stracciatella cheese, and the goat cheese tart. The crab cake was FANTASTIC! It was the best out of all the appetizers. For dinners we had the mahi mahi, filet mignon, and the pasta purses. The pasta purses were AMAZING! Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and dinners. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. For dessert we had the chocolate and peanut butter cake. The frosting on the cake was delicious, but I felt the actual cake could of been more moist. There was not enough icing on the cake either. I wouldn’t order that again. On the way out I purchased a chocolate chip cookie and that was delicious! The service was excellent, and we weren’t rushed at all. Despite the hour an half drive one way we made another reservation before we left. I highly recommend Farmer’s Daughter in Newton!

After passing by this spot on Spring Street on numerous occasions, my partner and I were finally able to get Sunday brunch here. The Farmer’s Daughter was incredible from start to finish. The staff were all super friendly, the dining space and market were both gorgeous, and the FOOD. The food was quite literally the best food I’ve gotten from anywhere in Sussex County, hands down. The baked goods were VERY well done, and the brunch items were both jaw droppingly fantastic. Will ABSOLUTELY be going back again. Definitely give this place a try if you have yet to, it is well worth it. Incredible.

This was our first time eating here and we loved everything! The tuna & salmon poke nachos were outrageous!! We will definitely be back!! I'm also a farmer's daughter so that was part of the charm for me. Oh, they also have a really cute gift shop attached!!

What an adorable Jemima this place is. BYOB, but they do have bottles of wine for purchase and non-alcoholic special drinks that you can get creative and add your own splash to.
Bread and butter... divine. Soft, fresh, warm little rolls that melted in your mouth. The butter was an in-store compound butter that had fresh herbs and edible flowers and was exquisite.
We had the charcuterie board, and it was great. The herbed goat cheese with raspberry preserve was kilker.. my favorite was the cheddar ale mustard cheese. Amazing.
We shared the duck wings, and they were great. I'm not a duck fan, but I had to try a bite. Smokey and flavorful, you would never know it was duck.
The table ordered dinners of pork osso bucco, Coq au Vin, venison, and fish and chips. All was really good and fresh. The pics don't do it justice.
Dessert was creme Brule and key lime pie. Not a huge Brule fan but it was good. The key lime was knock your socks off fantastic!
Cappuccino was adorable and delish.
Gold star here all around.

really great food. make reservations for sure and also check out the menu first (especially if you’re picky/have allergies) because there aren’t many selections, but what they do have is really good.

What an incredible restaurant in Newton NJ. The decor is so perfectly thoughtful. The tables, walls with actual family recipes from the chef's family. The glassware, plates even napkins and placemats match and fit the decor. Now the food. We started with a fall crunch salad . Everything in it was perfect, greens, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, bacon, honey crisp apples, crumbled Bleu cheese and a terrific citrus dressing. We got a grilled cheese with a fresh potato salad and pickle. It was crunchy and cheesy and one of the best we've had (and we have had and made some pretty damn good ones). We also had the roast beef sandwich that had fried pickles with a horseradish cheddar herbed dressing. We ended the meal with their pound cake with figs and cream. Jessica was our waitress and she was so lovely and knowledgeable and her charm made our luncheon even better if that is possible. Full disclosure here, we know the young lady and her son that are the chef/owners here and were so happy when we heard they were going to open a restaurant. Now I can tell you we are so happy that they have such an incredible restaurant with food that will make you want to go back. Side note they also have a general store connected to it that is also beautifully thought out with locally sourced items and unusual gift ideas for any occasion and anyone. Go , enjoy and tell someone you know about this place.

Stopped in before seeing Blue Oyster Cult at the Newton theater. Food was fantastic! Had the pork chop my wife had the chicken paillard. Both plates were great. The butter they served with the biscuits with the editable flowers in it was super creamy and dlish. Had a red wine by NJ's Ventimiglia Vineyard - Chambourcin, great as well. Jessica our waitress was very attentive. All in all a great experience.

Delishhhhhh!!!! Everything was amazing and Tommy our server went above and beyond and gave us his recommendations on menu items! The food was outstanding as well as the desserts. We also went into the little shop next door that was absolutely adorable. There’s so many great items that would be perfect gifts for the holidays! We will be back to try their dinner menu!!

The Farmer’s Daughter is definitely worth trying! My grandmother recommended we try it and we both enjoyed the atmosphere, menu options and fantastic staff. We started with the deviled eggs and corn bisque soup. We both had salads and added salmon to them which was absolutely delicious! We were both so full but couldn’t resist the pudding option on the menu! So good! Check it out and support local. The wines are even local; High point and Wantage wines! When done with dinner stroll (through the restaurant) into their shop which is filled with a lot of eclectic items! Perfect for Christmas time! Looking forward to going back again and especially can’t wait to see what the owner does with her menu throughout the seasons!

Stopped in for brunch after a hike at the nearby state park. The atmosphere is incredible. We had the fried lobster with dill sauce for an appetizer followed by the pastrami benedict. All of the food was amazing. Our server Matti completed the trifecta of a perfect dining experience. We will certainly be back again.

This is a special place. I come from a rural, out of the way Jersey town similar to Newton, and there's something extra satisfying about seeing a successful small business like this hit it out of the park. This area of Jersey is gorgeous (arguably not in the dead of winter when it looks like a desolate scene from a Bronte novel, but I could be in the minority on that point), but I can tell you from firsthand experience that it is incredibly difficult to find a great restaurant that doesn't involve a 45-minute drive to a different part of the state. Every small town would benefit from a restaurant like this; it's arguably the most effective kind of advertising there is, and I'm honored I got to experience this one firsthand.

I came here this past Sunday morning for a Womb Exit Anniversary Brunch celebrating one of my Noblest Chums. She's a nearly lifelong resident of the area and has been talking this place up for months, both as a brunch and a dinner destination (full disclosure - after this meal, she indicated that their dinner is typically the better option, which is a pretty astounding statement given how good this was). Several members of the staff were clearly familiar with her from prior visits, which may have contributed to what was excellent service overall.

The interior reminded me of a lot of upscale NYC brunch eateries, with a heavy dose of exposed brick goodness and wooden tables/chairs, but significantly less claustrophobic. It looked to have two entrances, one going directly into the dining area and another into a small adjoining boutique store; said store had a lot of local niche items (pillows with the Newton zip code, for instance, as well as an intriguing shirt that said, "Weekends, Wine & Canines" that unfortunately did not have a medium-sized option - we are not taking points off for that though, especially since I lacked the gumption to inquire about additional sizes in the back).

We were a party of six, and ordered several appetizers to share, notably the Biscuits & Jam ($9) and the Cheese & Charcuterie ($22). I didn't sample the Charcuterie, anticipating that my digestive system would need to devote a great deal of its attention to my entree, but the biscuit I sampled was very tasty. They were on the smaller size (which was a positive for our crew) and very easy to cut horizontally for jam application, being softer rather than crumbly.

I went with the Crab Cake Benedict ($15), which was sensational. Given the portion, I would recommend that if you have an elliptical to use beforehand, do it. Every aspect of it was off the charts - the crab cake complemented the hollandaise sauce just as well as an egg, and the star very well may have been the fried potatoes, which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. In my experience the thicker potato wedge-type option is often undercooked once you get into the interior, but this was excellent all the way through. Everything on my plate was devoured happily and quickly. I didn't hear anything negative about any aspect of this meal from my compatriots.

I think we can all agree that opening and maintaining a restaurant is difficult. The successful ones don't complicate the basics - they provide great food, great service in a great environment where people want to return again and again to partake in a meal. Life is hard enough these days; if you can pause everything for an hour or two to have a scrumptious repast with high quality chums, do it here.
