Big Boy

I've been coming to Big Boys since I was a child. 3 decades away has not dimmed my love of the place. It wasn't until returning that I realized just how much my food preferences are rooted in the Metro Detroit area. It's good to be home.
The service, at noon on the 2nd of January, is great. Friendly people from the greeting to the cashier. Tshaun was like a little brother!
My Big Boy & fries was exactly as I recalled and desired. The fries are hot, just lightly salted and stayed warm through my meal. Can't honestly say that about any other similar place.
The place is clean, airy, relaxing. The food is on actual plates, the drinks in glasses. So much different than all those fast-food places.
And Michigan people are amazing! As I was leaving, another customer noticed that a penny, 1 cent, had fallen out of my pocket - and gave it back to me!
(I'll have the hot fudge ice cream cake next time)

The food was DELICI😋US as usual but I was disappointed 😔with the size of our (husband and I )take home carrot cake for $3.99¢ as pictured 👀🤷🏽‍♀. It was tasty but could've been a little bigger.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. I've never had a bad meal at any Big Boy restaurant I've ever been to. The parking can be a bit congested. But other than that it's not a bad location within the business district. I would definitely make return visits here.

Food was excellent. Service was good, we did have an issue with Groupon but that was not the restaurant's fault. Just means we can eat again.

I don’t normally seek out a chain restaurant but this location offers some high quality breakfast. I love being able to sub in fresh fruit and boy was it fresh!

Wow! Happy that this place is finally back open after that fire! Great food and service as always. Loved my Buffalo chicken sandwich and grandma loved her Big Boy. With not too many Big boys left in the area. This is a great choice

Visited here on Tuesday, August 1st. My boyfriend took me for a belated birthday dessert. The lady that sat us was very nice. She greeted us with a smile and sat us at a cool location (I’m not a fan of hot weather).

Our waiter ended up being Ian. He was absolutely wonderful! Kind, attentive, happy. He laughed at my bf and I bantering and joined in on our joking. I hope to have him as a waiter when we return.

Honestly, EVERY employee was pleasant and smiling. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Prices were decent. Food was good. I will return, especially for the hot fudge ice cream cake! 😋

Jewel our waitress did an awesome job. The food was generous portions and delicious!

Love going here for any meal! Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always good. The servers are friendly and attentive. I recommend the Pretzel Bites appetizer. The only time I don't have these is during breakfast :( -(definitely my favorite!)

My husband Gary & I love splitting a big boy & slim jim! We're so happy the 8 & Mack location re-opened! Lori :-)

I’ve always had great service, which is hard to come by these days. I just adore Candy! She always makes my elderly brother in law and I feel so welcome and seats us where he doesn’t have to leave his walker up front or folded in a corner. She even helps us with math when we split the bill lol.

The atmosphere in the service provided by Shelly my server was just stellar! it was busy and she took care of me and was very conscientious of my experience. If I could have one what a great server, Shelly!

I had Shelly for a server and I cannot begin to tell you what a fabulous easygoing meal I had what fabulous service. She brought the food out right away my drink was refilled without me asking and she checked back to make sure everything was great, actually she said is everything okay, and I said everything is great thank you

Food is always good when I get takeout. Bacon cheeseburger is a excellent choice if you want some beef.

Wasnt very clean yet it was a busy day. Customer service was ok but could have been a little better. Our specific waitress was good with us though. She handles our crowd well. Especially with all the little ones we had with us. Food was good.

I may be a dinosaur but I still love big boy. The very best milkshakes, pies, and, of course, big boy hamburgers! Keep it old-school guys and don't try to be something that you are not. It may not be PC, but Big Boy can remain chunky, too! Lol

We were hungry for Big Boy. We had not been to one in years and went to this one. We were really excited to find this clean, friendly, efficient, and it is like we remember. The food was delicious. We will be back.

My daughter LOVES to come here for the Classic Big Boy and a shake!! For a quick bite, American food...it hits the spot!! This location in particular (Mack Ave), SUPER friendly and accommodating! I didn't know they closed at 8 on Sundays, and I called to place a carry out order at 7:56pm. They took the order without skipping!!! I felt HORRIBLE for making their kitchen stay open, but they didn't care!! Thank you for making my 7 year old so happy to get her Big Boy and shake!!! You made her night!!!

Service was great - my waiter Ian is an amazing staff there! He should be made employee of the month! He went beyond & above the call of duty for all his customers! He was kind & friendly & courteous! The restaurant temperature inside was very comfortable & clean! I was satisfied with my overall experience! I will and I plan on returning again!!
