That lemon cherry unusual is undefeated. I grabbed one before i headed back to Milwaukee and shared with my children. They loved it. Of course nothing like this is in Milwaukee. They cant wait to return and try other flavor combinations. Delicious all my life. Literally. Since middle school

My family and I have been going here since the late 1980s... probably before that too. All I know is that nobody can make a granita the way Zammutos does! The unusual with Lemon ice cream on top of a granita is beyond delicious! I look forward to next visit here!

My favorite place to get an unusual. I order cherry granita and lemon ice cream with more ice cream than granita. Their new kiosk has made the ordering process wayyy smoother and they accept card now!

The ice cream treats were amazing very unique. This is something that we don't have back home so I enjoy coming to Rockford Illinois for the ice cream and treats alone

If you're like me and have been dying for the BEST FRIED CATFISH, I dare say in all of Winnebago County, then you have better head to Zammuto's!!! YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT... ZAMMUTO'S!!!

The quality of catfish Zina is cooking over there is better than anything you will find at any DaCatch, J&J's, or anywhere else. It's flavorful, fresh-tasting, breaded just right, and fried to perfection.

The next time you have a hankering for some delicious catfish, don't you run yourself over to those other joints with that bogus excuse for catfish. Go get the real stuff!!

Just know that once you've had it, you're hooked, and you won't want to go anywhere else for it!

If you are looking for the most refreshing and sinfully delicious frozen treats this side of town, then you are looking for Zammuto's. The variety of granitas and ice creams are very good, and when you mix them together. maaaan, are you in for a real treat.

The item that they famously call "The Unusual" is the way to go. Where they layer their ice cream with the granita (which if I had to try to describe what granita is, the only thing I could come up with would be the perfect texture between a sorbet and a lemon ice).

However, I will warn you...

If that sort of delicacy is your thing... once you have The Unusual, you will never be the same afterward. You will find yourself out and about running errands and out of nowhere... Zammuto Minions suddenly take over your steering wheel, and before you know it, you're in their parking lot!!

Love this place... Nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to a Zammutos "Unusual". Fresh granita mixed with soft serve ice cream. So delicious on a hot summer day. Their food is great as well. Love our local treasures.

Wooo weeeee! This place is so good! The owner there is super nice and you can tell she loves what she does. She noticed there was a line building up and She came from the back to help the guy in front of us order on the touch screen and was gracious enough to help us and others too. As for the UNUSUALS, they are sooooooo good. The granita and ice cream were very good quality. They ruined slushies and ice cream at Sonic for me since they will never compare to Zammuto’s lol. I highly recommend this place. Your mouth will thank you!

Their "unusuals" are the best! On paper, they sound a little questionable, but they are one of my favorite desserts, hands down. All of my coworkers love them too and they've been getting them for years. If your in the area and have a sweet tooth, definitely stop by and check them out.

The unusual is just that . This place is a local neighborhood favorite for a reason. Definitely worth finding if you are in the area.

Loves this place. I could go every day and get there yummy food and they have the best ice cream and other great treat's for the hole family! If you haven't been there get there soon and see what u been missing!

The ice cream is really good they are very nice it may not look so good but they are so nice and they make it super fast

What a treat!!! Had a famous italian unusual. Creamy light lemony soft serve ice cream perfectly paired with layers if icy cherry. It was like the dreamcicles we had as kids but awesome cherry ones. Delish! Also had their fried okra which was pretty good.

This was my first time here and it was quite an experience. You never know who you might see here but I tell you what I know for certain: The Unusual is one of the best treats in Rockford. I don't exactly know what Granita is, but it tastes like rich, sweet, fruity Italian ice and when you layer that in with some creamy soft serve, you've got a dangerous pair.

We always come here for the granitas and the unusuals (granita with soft serve ice cream) they are so good and very refreshing!! They have other items on their menu such as hit dogs, fries and wings but I only come here to cool down.
