Farmhouse Cafe

Everything was delicious! I love that the menu has plenty of hearty selections as well as plenty of light selections. The rolls and cornbread brought to the table with butter and jelly are homemade and a delightful start to the meal. We ate the daily special, Poppyseed chicken, the chicken fajita ranch, wedge salad, fried green tomatoes, chicken salad, taco salad, and Salisbury steak. Each person said they loved their meal and would eat it again. Mr favorite bite was the fried green tomatoes. Least favorite bite was the pinto beans. The ranch tastes homemade. We also shared a piece of buttermilk pie. Tasted like grandma's. The restaurant is light bright and not too noisy. Our server Richard was friendly and knowledgeable. The hostess that greets and seats was very nice and welcoming. Plenty of free parking.

Yummy southern cooking; great service; music was a little heavy metal for the crowd, and wall signs were for chemicals and hair dressing, which seemed odd. Overall, yummy with kind and efficient wait staff.

I don't have enough words to describe how amazing Farmhouse is, especially when it comes to their food. My husband and I took a weekend trip to Huntsville and Farmhouse was at the top of our restaurant list. Everything from the service to the peanut butter pie for dessert was absolute perfection. This is really good, homemade Southern cooking. The bread, butter, and strawberry jam is an excellent complement to the main meal. I will be thinking about Farmhouse's food, especially their peanut butter pie, until my next visit to Huntsville.

Great lunch! Chicken fried steak was superb. Great service. Wish we had room for pies or cakes.

I visited with my father and brother for the first time today. Hosts were friendly, and we got seated quickly despite the place being packed. Our day quickly took a turn as my brother had a seizure right after we ordered. Our wonderful server Emily was extremely helpful with helping us make the food togo and even offered to comp the meal for us. She is wonderful and absolutely deserves recognition as a great employee! We really appreciate this gesture, and will be back!

Great food and service. You won't leave here hungry. The cornbread and biscuits were great. We were happy we tried the fried avocado with ranch. Delicious. Fried perfectly! The small chicken fried steak was the perfect size for most. Well balanced seasoning and a crisp crust. No grease present. One of the best CFS I have had. The sides of real mashed potatoes and collard greens were tasty too. I ate it all and hope to go back soon.

Edit : 11 months later...we're back. Once again, we enjoyed the cornbread, biscuits and the fried avocado! Chicken Fried Steak again...perfect. New sides this time. That carrot slaw was on point. I'm still thinking about it and the mac and cheese was nice and creamy. Great job!

Very good local place to eat in Huntsville. Must Try chicken fried steak.

This is such a great place to eat! I took my daughter here for her birthday. And the waitress that served us even gave her a birthday cake on the house. Which top it off definitely will be coming back 😃

This is out second time coming here on a road trip. Got the trio. One appetizer, one entree and of coarse one piece of pies. We.got the coconut creme pie was pretty good . The Monterey with fajita beef was bomb. Fried avocados are okay , they are something different I don't really like myself.

WOW! Amazing!! If you want real food that is super good, go to the Farmhouse Cafe. We went on Tuesday and got the Blue Plate Special Chicken Spaghetti, it was sooooo good. Don't forget about the bakery, I took home a coconut cream pie. It was fabulous. Passing through Huntsville or resident, you should not miss this food!

I have catered with Farmhouse for multiple events. The staff are great to work with and I want to give a shout out to Mr Brian. My team loves the food. Great service and responses all around. Thank you so much for all you and your team have done for us.

This was my 3rd or 4th visit. We got a sampler with fried avocado, green tomatoes, and pickles plus onion rings to start.

The fried green tomatoes and avocado definitely could have benefitted from a bit of salt prior to breading but they were ok. The onion rings were tasty, the fried pickles were small and not amazing, but not bad as far as fried pickles go.

I ordered catfish with fried okra and greens for my main course, and it was all good. My companion chose buttermilk pie for dessert and the server brought a hefty slice. We admittedly may be a bit spoiled by the homemade buttermilk pie we usually have, but this was a fairly disappointing dessert. It was lacking in richness, but still edible and I do appreciate the fact that they offer so many down-home southern style choices even if they don't always hit the mark.

Good home cooking. Known for their desserts. You must know their pies are not made with typical flour butter crust, disappointment for me, that is a preference. Mostly ice box or cream pies with cookie crust. I prefer the salty buttery pie crust. Dessert is not for me there, I've tried multiple items because the servers don't know the difference between pie crust and cookie crumb crust when asked. It's ok my husband will eat it. Conclusion home cooking but not my choice in pies. Oh and tea is $3.50 a glass, seemed high. Took lunch up $7.00.

Yummy lunch today at the Farmhouse Cafe in Huntsville. When I am up this way, I always come here for their blue plate specials. I got the pork chop today and it was seasoned yum. The bread basket they give you with the broccoli cornbread is the best tasting corn bread I’ve ever had.

The food is great! I have been here twice, and each was amazing food and service. The hot bread basket they bring out to each table is over the top!
The atmosphere is perfect for a nice quiet lunch or dinner. The portions are large, and make sure you save room for the best desserts in town! The coconut cream pie is my favorite!!

Traveling with a service dog, most places have outdoor accommodations including the Farmhouse Café. We seated ourselves outside, which was an error. We had to get attention from a server. Our girl didn’t know what “carrot slaw” was. In fact, she was not very familiar with the menu. Ok, she more than made up for it by being pleasant, smiling brightly and was very attentive. We didn’t mind coaching her, either. Btw- the slaw was salad in our book, and every bit as good as the carrot salad made by our “ancestors”. They used golden raisins & crushed pineapple. Lunch was excellent. We will make a point to return the next time we visit town. Super nice place with little loving touches at every turn. Oh, the cornbread- look out for an explosion of flavors! A savory accompaniment or a fantastic dessert.

Short wait time for a weekday lunch, but nonetheless it was worth it! Service was quick and the food was delicious. Mom got the monte cristo and i had the shrimp platter, also with the appetizer fried pickles (which came out in like 3 minutes!!) I don’t remember our servers name, but he was so sweet and attentive even though we were seated outside on the patio. Definitely will return!

Food was very delicious. I ordered the chicken fried chicken. The chicken was very tender. The perfect size. I was able to cut the chicken with a butter knife. The cornbread was amazing. If I'm ever in Huntsville again, I will come back!
