Starbucks

I walked into the familiar hum of Starbucks, the scent of roasted coffee beans mingling with the faint chatter of patrons. It was my usual pit stop before heading to work, and I was craving my go-to order: a caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso. After placing my order, I stood by the counter, checking emails and mentally preparing for the day ahead.

Moments later, a barista called my name. I stepped forward, took the cup with my name scribbled on it, and took a sip. Instantly, I realized something was off. Instead of the rich, velvety caramel macchiato, my taste buds were met with the unfamiliar bitterness of a plain black coffee. I glanced at the cup—sure enough, it was my name, but not my order.

"Excuse me," I said, approaching the counter. "I think there's been a mistake. This isn't what I ordered."

The barista, looking harried, apologized and said they would remake it, but there was a long line of orders ahead. I sighed, accepting that I would have to wait, my morning schedule already feeling the pinch.

Just then, a girl standing next to me, who I hadn't noticed in my distracted state, turned and smiled. "Hey, I couldn't help but overhear. What was your order supposed to be?"

"Caramel macchiato with an extra shot," I replied, a hint of frustration in my voice.

Her eyes sparkled with understanding. "I can help with that. My name's Taylor, by the way. I actually work here part-time, but today I'm just grabbing a drink before class." She slid behind the counter with ease, her movements confident and fluid.

I watched as Taylor swiftly gathered the ingredients. She moved with the precision of someone who knew the rhythm of the place, despite not being on duty. In no time, she handed me a new cup, steam curling from the opening.

"Here you go," she said, her smile warm and reassuring. "One caramel macchiato with an extra shot, just the way you like it."

I took a cautious sip. The flavors were perfect—the rich espresso balanced by the sweet caramel, just as it should be. I looked at Taylor, gratitude flooding through me. "Thank you so much. You really saved my morning."

She laughed softly, a sound like a melody. "No problem at all. I'm glad I could help. Enjoy your drink, and have a great day."

As she turned to leave, I felt a sense of appreciation not just for the perfect drink, but for the unexpected kindness of a stranger named Taylor. In that moment, the day seemed a little brighter, the world a little kinder. And as I walked out of Starbucks, I couldn't help but think that sometimes, the best moments come from the most unexpected places.

From pulling up to the drive thru order menu to the actual window, Dave made our day! My daughter and I were having a terrible morning until he started talking to us and we just kept laughing. #daveneedsaraise

Desiree is a really awesome employee. I had an issue with another one and she immediately fixed the issue and went above and beyond to make me feel better about the situation. She deserves all of the goodness in the world. Thank you so much for your help.

These staff was friendly and courteous. The inside was clean and welcoming. The bathroom was clean.

So I have two things. First, this place has only been open less than a week and they are doing their best. You have technical malfunctions, supply issues, confusion among staff. As someone who has worked at a Starbucks before, I can promise you they are doing their best. It’s new. People need to chill.

Second, they are genuinely nice people. I have gone twice now and both times, despite their issues and the stress that comes with all the previously mentioned items, their demeanor was awesome. Curt in the drive through especially. The entire time I had to wait due to orders being behind, he made conversation with me and made me laugh, trying to keep my day light and my mood unaffected by my wait.

Overall, I think it will be a good place. I’m so happy we finally have one in Dixon. I think everyone needs to remember service industry is hard, and people can be awful. Don’t be one of those people. Keep your negative attitudes to yourself. It’s just coffee and ice y’all!

I have gone to this location 3 times now since it has opened last week and every single time I have been met with super sweet and friendly staff. Today Addison helped me in the drive through and you couldn’t help but smile when talking to her. She was the sweetest. The other day when I went I had a very sweet girl that helped us and a super friendly guy who took our order. The other fast food places in the area should take notes at how well you guys treat your customers! Way to go Dixon Starbucks!!!!♥♥♥♥

I'm always ready for a delicious cup of hot coffee. Or cold, whatever. Carmel macchiato is my favorite.

Pleasant staff, fast, efficient service every time. I like to go inside because it's a good looking location, but even going through the drive-thru, service is great. Absolutely love the oat milk option, tastes delicious in all the coffees I've ordered. The only criticism I have about this is that they are often out of their oat milk, and I would say it's more popular than all the other milk alternatives, so I hope they increase their stock. While there is a decent variety of vegetarian food options, I wish they had more VEGAN pastries and goods. Never have any issues parking.

I love this place! Everyone is so nice, Mick is professional and Brenda is so sweet. Really every single one of them is great. The staff is always kind and the service is fast. They work hard in there and stay positive doing it! I highly recommend coming here. Plus the drinks are delicious.

Quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Good customer service. One negative is that one employee audibly and negatively spoke about another employee that was not there. It's not my business and I don't like hearing employee gossip. I still give it 5 stars because it happened once and we all talk too much at times.

Grace and myself tried the Peppermint Mocha coffee. It was hot and blended perfectly.

Not sure how this place is getting under a 5 start rating but the baristas at this location are WONDERFUL. They are always so friendly. My favorite location in the 815 area!

This was my first time at this store. The lady at the window taking orders was very friendly and double checked my order. Even confirming that I wanted the extra Expresso in my drink. Very pleasant I would recommend this as a nice morning start.

For being recently opened, they area doing very well at their jobs. A couple times I have come in, they have had a certain ingredient, but they were very good at apologizing and giving other options. Very good service so far and nice atmosphere

I’ve been stopping at this Starbucks a lot recently during some work trips I’ve had. Staff is very friendly. Drinks are the same as any other Starbucks but service is superb.

Super clean with nice staff.

Friendly staff and prompt. Relaxing setting and a nice patio. Loved the fact that it was clean (when I was there).

When they first opened they would go above and beyond, however that does not appear to be the case these days. Some days they are fast, friendly and efficient other days they are not so you just take a chance.
